I have 4yrs work ex in IT and a 730 score in GMAT do i stand a chance if i apply. What is the application procedure, what are the imp dates. Where can i find more details like fee etc.

Dear Sameerge,

You can go ahead and put in your application and can register for the test as and when details are updated on the website.

we do have students in our batch who have switched their fields - just as you are planning to do . Should you go through the initial screening and be called for the evaluation stage - it would be upto you to convince the panel that you have sufficient background knowledge of the specialization you are opting for and that you would be able to cope with the switch in your field of education/work experience.

First a quick summary of my profile:

1. 10th/12th/B.Tech.(CS) - Throughout >70%

2. Total Work Ex. = 2.5 years
(GE Healthcare and SAP Labs)

3. Willing to give SPJ's test

I am interested in joining the Investment Banking batch in the December intake. I have seen profiles of current IB batch and found that almost all of them have either a commerce/finance background or they have worked on Finance projects.

In case I make into SPJ's IB course, what weightage should I expect of my previous work ex.?

Also, will it be very difficult to move to IB at this stage of career?

Dear curlyandsunny,

When it comes to placements it is left to the student where they would like to take up the offer, if a student in Singapore wishes to attend interview in Dubai , they can do so,this is arranged for.The country where they are put up is not indicator for where they will be placed ultimately.

Which specialization you need to take will depend on your interest as well as work experience so far.Please go through details regarding the specializations on the website and decide.

I had a query regarding placements and choosing the right stream to specialize.

Since this course is based out of Dubai/Singapore, is it that most of the time a candidate gets placed in the city from where he is completing the course? To give an example, if my course starts in Singapore and ends in Dubai, will that mean that my chances of getting placed in Dubai is far higher than getting placed in countries like India and Singapore?

I have an experience of over 11 yrs, mainly in the areas of operations with a BPO. Which would be the right stream for me to opt.

I have applied for the dec intake and scored 75.71% in SPJAIN aptitude test... I heard that the evaluation process is on Sep 1 and 2... But my status is on waitlist only. When wil my status be updated? ANd.. do u have the count of candidates who have applied for the dec intake?

Hi Rutty,

I gave SP Jain aptitude test on august 12 and secured 90.97%ile. Thrafter i filled in online application form coz i thought tht it ought to be done in this manner only, but seems a few chaps applied without the score and gt shortlisted as soon as the result was out(gettin evaluation calls of sept 1 and 2). I've send my refrence letters to your Liason office. Is there any other formality to be accomplished in order to go ahead or should i just wait to knw that whthr i am shortlisted or nt.

I've scored more than 65% in 10th and engg. whereas 64% in 12th.
Also havin an yr of wrk-ex in Accenture as an SE.

Any light that you could throw of my chances of entering evaluation stage??


PS: Let me know if i am nt fulfilling any of the criterias.

hey its per super specialization...

Its like that........

U have to opt for IB, WM or BM in case of finance....U cant apply for the broad catagory of finance....

So its per super specialization, the number varies from from approx 30-56, which still is highly variable depending on the types of candidates spjcm are getting...

I wont be able to comment on your chances as I don't know your profile.The reason why candidates are put on wait list is because they fail to meet one or more of the criteria s.

Wait listed applications are reviewed from time to time by the admissions committee and students called in for evaluation.However there is no fixed time frame for this.

I wont be able to tell you the exact reason why you are still on wait list, as I don't know what your profile looks like.

You do meet the criteria with regards to the Aptitude test scores however that is not the only parameter.

Dear Kshitiz,

Looking at this situation it looks like you applied recently , the candidates who got called are the ones that applied before giving the aptitude test.
There is no need to panic as its only time that your application form is being screened.
Should you meet all the criteria you will be called in for the evaluation stage.

Graduations scores are one of the criteria that we look at your are right about that.

Applications are reviewed from time to time and should the admission committee find you meeting the requirements you will be called in for evaluation.
