Hi Jaffer

Were you shortlised for the evaluation process based on your CAT score.

how many years of workign experince do you have
I have a similar percentile so was planning whether to apply with this score or take the SP jain apti test

HI RUTTY,
I have already applied for the program for Jan-2008 intake. My quiry is regarding the test score u would be considering.
In the application I have opted for the test by your institute. But I had written CAT 2006 and had 86%ile. The problem is I never recieved the score card from the IIMs. I have a copy of the score card I had printed out from net. Will that do or would I have to show the original. And if yes, can I change the choice of test in the application program

Dear Vivek,

Your application looks ok, you don't need to take the SP Jain Aptitude test as the CAT score that you have meets the entrance test requirement.
I wont be able to comment on your chances of being called in for the Evaluation as this is the decision of the admissions committee.
To start of put in your application, the forms are available on our website,S.P.Jain Center of Management, Dubai . Singapore.

Thanks

Hi Rutty

I am very new to this forum
I was looking forward for some info for admission based on my profile.

I am B.E graduate 2005 pass out from Manipal Institute of Technology manipal.

I have 2+yrs of working experince with Wipro Technologies.

I have recieved awards and appreciation for my work in Wipro.

I have the below mentioned acads

10 th - 74.6%
12th - 75%

B.E (Mechanical):- 3.45/4 (85%)

I have a CAT score : 86% percentile.

Do I need to give the SP jain apptitude test or this CAT score is enough for the eval.

Please let me know if I apply now and the next test in September will the evaluation call before or after the test.

Can I apply for Finance domain even though I have a IT work ex

What are my chances of getting shortlisted for the interview directly before the test.

Thanks
Vivek :)

Thanks rutty

For the prompt reply I will apply online.
I am having difficulty in deciding the specilization.
I have a working experice in IT and was willing to apply for Finance - Banking domain.
does this affect my chance or is it advisable to apply for IT.

Thanks
Vivek

hi rutty...

i am intersted in applyin for the jan 2008 intake..
my academics are :

10th - 71%
12th - 58.2 %
Graduation B.Tech in Computer science engineering : CGPA 7.04 (70.4 % eq)

i have no prior work ex..
but i understand that u do consider applications without work ex too..

i've missed the spjain aptitude test which was held on 12th aug..
i was wondering if u have another test comin up through which i can apply for this jan 2008 intake ...
otherwise i'll have to take gmat for which the time is now very short..

and meanwhile is it possible to submit the online application without the aptitude test scores??

do shed some light on my chances of getting in and some the required information...

thanks
peeush

Dear Vivek_ggupta,

we do have students in our batch who have switched their fields - just as you are planning to do now. Should you go through the initial screening and be called for the evaluation stage - it would be up to you to convince the panel that you have sufficient background knowledge of the specialization you are opting for and that you would be able to cope with the switch in your field of education/work experience.

Thanks

Dear Peeush,

It is perfectly fine to apply before taking the Entrance test. There is an S P Jain Aptitude test coming up in September details of which will be updated on the website very soon. You can register yourself for our test.Once the results are out we can collate it with your application.

If you are looking to take GMAT then all you will need to do is send us a mail with the scores quoting your application number and we will attach it to your application form.

Thanks

Hi Rutty

I have one more query
While submitting the online form should I select that I want to take the test or not.
Will the screening process begin once I take the test or it will be evaluated on my CAT percentile itself.

Will they reconsider the application after the score or is it screened only once.

Hi,

Today I have filled in the online application form for GMBA. But after filling all the details in all the tabs, when I finally press 'confirm', in the confirm page, after checking the box 'I Agree', when I click on 'Submit' button. nothing seems to happen, except that in the bottom band of the explorer, I get a message, 'Done but with errors on page'.

I did not receive any mail either confirming the receipt of the online application form. Can you please look in to the issue and let me know if there is any problem with the database server or something like that? I have been facing this issue since Friday. Please provide me with the details of what actually should appear when I click on SUBMIT finally.

Thanks,
Katzenjammer

Hey!!
Thank you! As you have advised,Ihave rechecked my form and have tried to make a few modifications and rechecked the same. But still the same problem persists. Can characters like %. +, comma, and ' be included as part of the achievements section? And is it limited to some max no of letters/words?

Why dont they put up a client side functionality that pops up and makes us correct the form as and when some mistake apparently creeps in? Now, even if I re-fill the form, I'd obviously want to copy and paste those lines that are long (achievements, job profile etc). And then too the same wouldnt help. Or else I have to second guess myself and have to keep on modifying some lines here and there and see if it gets submitted (which I dont like,, as I want all the content that I have filled to get submitted).

Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.

Katzenjammer

hmm right even i got a lot of problem, started filling the form once again... but ultimately when i re-checked found that a Apostrophe(') in my academic education section was creating the problem.Remove those special characters from the achievement section as well. do some adjustment its better to apply online than through the hard copy right ?:) so re-check..n try try till u succeed :)
hope good sense prevails and the website guys do something for this..
@Rutty,
please take note of this and do the needful.

thanks

Hi rutty,

I gave the SPJAT on 12th Aug 2007, but my score is pretty low 59.74.
other wise my academic record is as follows:-

Tenth :80.4 %
XII :77.5 %
B. Tech :72 %

along with this I have a 14 months experience during which I have been a high performer and have won many awards and acclaims.

Although with the low score in SPJAT, I have applied for the evaluation stage and sent all the documents to the liaison office.

My question is that if in case there is a cut off of the SPJAT score due to which my application may be rejected. Can I sit in the next SPJAT exam scheduled in September, and if in case there is a better score i can apply again with the new score or i only one application is allowed per sem and I have to wait for the next semester entry to get into the evaluation stage?

Hey!

Thanks a lot Sony!
It seems the exact problem at the exact place has created a problem for me too. My school name is St.Mary's, so thats where the (') came in. So removed that and got the form submittted!

Thank You 😃
Thanks,
Katzenjammer

Hi,

Is anybody attending the evaluation process on Sep 2nd from Chennai?

Thanks,
Arul

Does anyone have idea whether the aptitude cut off is set for every specialisation or is it all together?

If the cut off is 75 percentile, then does that mean only 25 percent of the applicants will be shorlisted for evaluation? Since the number of applicants can vary, there cannot be a fixed cut off like 75 percentile right?

I guess its not percentile its percentage.. pls re-check

What is the minimum score required in GMAT, CAT, XAT and SPJ aptitude test?

It is rare for us to admit students with a GMAT less than 650 or CAT/XAT less than 80 percentile and SPJ less than 75 percentile. However, we consider all factors including college performance, post graduate degrees and relevant work experience.

I found this in website under FAQs. I was not able to understand how percentile will be effective all the time while comparing the applicants.

hello puys,

Now its only 5 days remaining for the 1st round of evaluation process at SPJCM...
Pls post ur calls here as it will be helpful for all the aspirants to know their batchmates for the evalution.

Mine is on 2nd sept, 11:30pm.

hope to see many more posts on this !!!
