The Bangalore Tuck reception is this weekend on 6th September. I've talked to many of you and I'm looking forward to putting a face to the name when we meet at the reception. If you haven't had the opportunity to register yet, sign up on the Tuck events page:
How can you attract the attention of the admissions committee through your application essays? Valuable advice from Senior Associate Director of Admissions, Amy Mitson.
The academic rigor at Tuck is as current as it can get. Here's an example of how students worked on a smart watch marketing study in the course Marketing Research using survey responses from real consumers. How close will their findings come to the smart watch that Apple is purported to be working on? Time will tell for sure.
Look forward to meeting the Bangalore-based prospective applicants tomorrow at the Tuck reception in Hyatt Bangalore. We alumni will be on hand to answer whatever question you may have about the MBA application process, the Tuck MBA program, the community, the culture, the town of Hanover, and whatever else is on your mind. See you there!
I enjoyed meeting the many prospective applicants at the Bangalore Tuck reception. Insightful questions, intensely engaged audience, and the opportunity to catch up with fellow Tuck alumni - all made for a wonderful evening. Thanks everyone for making it a memorable event for me. On to Chennai for the reception coming up on September 13th. Look forward to meeting candidates from in and around Chennai - and of course, Tuckies!
One of the most recent entrants to Tuck from India, Apurva Sacheti T'16, shared this quick blog post reflecting on his visit to Silicon Valley as part of the pre-MBA boot camp.
If you're still wondering what makes Tuck special, Associate Director of Admissions, Kristin Roth lists the top 10 things you may not know about the school.
I've been approached by a number of reapplicants to Tuck wondering how the admissions committee views them and how they should position themselves the second time around. Here are words of wisdom on precisely this topic from Senior Associate Director of Admissions, Pat Harrison. So reapplicants, worry not. Take heart!
Thanks to everyone who attended the Chennai reception. Great to see so many out-of-town applicants, some of whom traveled from as far away as Bhubaneshwar to attend the event. Now it's on to Delhi on Sept 20th (Tuck Reception) and Sept 21st (MBA Tour). See you there!
Aditya Shah, who just entered Tuck as a member of the Class of 2016 reflects on the ride that has been. This is a bit dated (three months old), but relevant nonetheless.
I've been asked this question more than once: "Why did I choose Tuck when I was evaluating business schools?" My answer is pretty simple. "I wanted to be in a place where I would not be anonymous, where I would be known for something, where I would contribute something enduring during my two years, not only to the school but also to the wider world. A place where I could define and carve my own experience. The moment I visited the Tuck campus, it was very clear this was the answer for my search."
I think this is the common thread that ties Tuckies together across the generations. For instance, read the following note from Kristin Roth, Associate Director of Admissions at Tuck. It gives you a glimpse into what some other students have accomplished - experiential learning for them and at the same time, an outcome that will linger for generations of Tuckies to experience.
How to choose the right recommender for your application? Sometimes, candidates have asked me: "What if they can't get a recommendation from their immediate supervisor?" "What if I work in my family business and there's not really a supervisor that can give a recommendation?"
Well, you're not alone. Scores of applicants have similar questions that they pose to the admissions committee all the time. Here's some advice on precisely these points from Senior Associate Director of Admissions, Pat Harrison.
Tuck and Dartmouth go hand-in-hand when it comes to leadership development. A case in point is the Paganucci Fellows Program that provides real-world leadership experiences to Dartmouth students through Tuck's Center for Leadership. Here are the experiences of some of the most recent Paganucci Fellows.
Look forward to interacting with all the prospective applicants in the National Capital Region over the next couple of days - on Sept 20th at the Tuck Admissions reception (Taj Mansingh, Delhi) and on Sept 21st during the MBA Tour (Leela Kempinski, Gurgaon). See you at one of the events!
