I just discovered this forum . I just got my joining dates . It`s September 6th at Trivandrum . I am a native of trivandrum , passed out from SCT college TVM ( IT )
I took the tests at the training centre itself , cool place ...... in Trivandrum Technopark. About accomodations and alll I am not sure , yes they are having a 3 star Hostel near Technopark but usually it is filled up the rest ppl will get only hotels arranged by them. I heard that trainig is from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Mon - Sat ..
CS and I.T people have ILP @ TVM centre and rest are now having at Hybd.

One cannot generalise this time.....
Ppl are having training all over India this time..
Triv, Hyd, Pune, BuBnswr, Kolkotta are some i have already heard.. And this year coe ppl are also sent to places other than Triv.
By the way i ahve my joining at 17 aug in Hyd. TCS ppl have played a game in our coll. Half of the guys are sent to Pune and the other half to Hyd. All Coe from our coll are being sent to Bubnswr.
I have heard that TCS has increased the pay for the freshers... could anyone confirm that?????

my joining is on 1 july and i still havent got my joining letter via snail mail...
do u guys know what exctly is to be done during training..
and do we get to choose our place of posting after that..
In our college , all except IT and CS are now in Hybd Centre ..... One bad thing is that all other than TVM are maintained by CMC rather than TCS . so facilities won`t be that much good
Also regarding the pay , the new is from hindu
"The salary for freshers joining as trainees is Rs. 2.5-Rs. 3.5 lakh annually"

can any of u guys mail me the latest TCS question paper or any TCS papers that u may have? Also plz tell me how to go about preparing for TCS (various rounds). TCS visits my college on the 9th of July. Iam really really really desparate for a job.all my friends have got placed and iam supposed to be preparing for cat but i cant even clear aptitude tests. in short helpppppppppppppp. calling in distress.

Am slated to join TCS Bhubaneswar on the 1st of July too, other than it being one the hottest ( 50 n rising ) and famine struck places in Asia, we shouldn't face too many hurdles. I guess we'll find some neat hot spots ( pun intended ) to hang around. After all how bad can Bhubaneswar be after Mumbai ( where i've spent more than half my life!). Guys n gals headin there, get in touch...
ps: a fav bong holiday beach..puri is 2 hrs frm Bbnswr

Hi folks.... I have been in TCS from the last 2 years...and was lucky enuff to go to Trivandrum..Its a fun place..... and I dont have much to share for the fear of repeating Vinit all over again... But then, hang out boyz n gals and have the time of your lives.....Hope you get to stay in the Exec Hostel ....
There is one issue where I beg to differ from Vinit, I was a Non Com Sci person but still had a blast.... After college, the discipline is actually very endearing....no chance of studying for CAT in tvm but once you go to your branch , if you are lucky enuff, you may get a project which is only 8 hrs a day and even otherwise its a five-day week....So Have Fun........

Can ne1 who has been thru this ILP(i mean d new format of reduced duration i.e. 32 days) throw some light on the schedule of it?
It wud b gr8 if some1 can give some information abt various activities during the stay there?

Just four lines... yaar i was so desperately waiting for the experiences of the ppl who are going to trained this year. I am also going to join in hyderabad on 17th aug (NSIT Delhi).
Pls yaar do write an elaborate mail. we all all waiting for some prescience as to what will happen when we join. PLs Pls ......

we are all hearing the rumor that TCS has increaded the package from 2.04 - 2.14 to somewhat arnd 2.5. Do u ppl have any idea abt that...
I also heard that ppl from same colleges are distributed in various batches and various hostels.. They generally do not stay toghther.. Is it true??

This is to clarify that the reduced duration(to 32 days) which i talked abt is confirmed and is only 4 CS guys. For non-CS guys, it's some 40 odd days...

Also they have given my college "A" grade. does that mean they'll recruit guys in large numbers? also they are having a training section for all the campus interview candidates. what is it for? is it some kind of talent spotting in a concealed manner? any idea?

I just got the info from my batch mates - non -I.T ppl joined there at hybd this 20th . Classess are from 9-6 , Monday - Friday , total of 44 days . It`s in the CMC Centre Hybd ( I have been there once , building is very old but facilities are cool )
Problems : it is in a remote place ( as they say ) , no Cafe , no Telephone booths etc
First week they are having classes of Java, Operationg systems etc
When I get more info I`ll post , please other guys dooo post if u get any info regarding the ILP ..........

i 2 have been selected by tcs on campus n am waiting 4 the call-letter.rt. now we r clueless here that when n where the training will be held.some guys of a nearby coll have got the letter asking them 2 join from 16th at pune.as with others i am giving cat this year on any count.
hey,i don't have my birth-certificate due 2 some reasons.i've always used my class 10 certificates 2 validate my date of birth.wouldn't it do at any cost?
n 1 more thing,we weren't told to get our passports ready n i've found out that there r many current tcs-ers who still haven't got a passport.but,still rumours abound that we shud have our passports ready.so how genuine is that?

No. You have to submit the original birth certificate. Dont have ? Then get one done.
In the joining instructions issued by TCS , it is mensioned that Bith Certificate with name is a must else there will be a problem in getting the employ ID . A temporary arrangement for 1 month can be made by giving a n affidavit jointly by ur parents , note that this is only a temporary arrangemnt .
You can get ur birth certificate from the place where u registered at the Registrar of Bith and deaths , mostly nearby ur birth place ..... Please contact ur panchayat or muncipality for the same .......
Also passports are not mandatory , if there then will be helpful for on-site assignments after joining .
