man,a hike leading to 2.5!will,i've 2 believe this,i mean it sounds 2 fantastic,not that i'm complaining.n yes,we'r astounded over here.we've got our ilp at kol(i.e. local 4 us,though the centre is abt. 20 kms from my place) n it starts on 17th oct!

Sorry for the delay...there may be a hike but once you have a offer letter in hand the compensation does not change usually. In our case the sal was reduced for the next batches but we kept getting the same amount.
Anyways..keep hoping...I am trying to catch some HR person for a official confirmation. Whats your joining date?
Regarding time period for training, for trivandrum it is something like 45 days. Dont know for other centres.

Does any body have an idea about actuallocation of the training center at Triv. and how far is it from railway station and the airport ?.Unfortunately all of my college friends
have their joining dates in mid july and most probably i will be travelling alone ,so any info. about how to get to the centre will be most welcome.
Also does anybody have an idea about the questions asked in the initial SE test ? 😃

Trivandrum training center is in Kuzhokottam (it is not pronounced as it is spelled at all) ...that is quite removed from both the railway station as well as the airport. At the airport, you can get a prepaid taxi. From both places it will be around half an hour. There may be buses to kuzhokottam market from the railway station also.
Best is, find out where you are supposed to stay from the admin department of TCS trivandrum. Once you give them your joining date and name , they will give you a batch number. The entire batch usually stays in one place. There is a hostel in Kuzhokottam. If the hostel is full, you will be given a hotel in the city. Once you know the place you are supposed to put up in, go directly to that place. There will be a bus to the office in the morning at around 8:20 if you are in the hostel, or at 7:30 if you are in a hotel in the city center.

abt the bond....that bond isnt legally valid...but if you require the leaving docs from TCS you have to pay or else you wont be able to show the work ex in other places. But if you clear CAT when u r in TCS you can bargain to reduce the bond amount as u are going for higher education. They usually reduce the amoun in such cases.

Hi i am not in TCS, but work in another company in Technopark where TCS has its training center. Just to comment on that bus route, there are buses to Kazakuttam junction from the railway station. It lies in the NH route, so you have plenty of buses. But all buses have the routemarkers written in Malayalam. So you would need the help of some locals who will be pretty helpful.

ur ilp will b of 44 days....though our batch co-ordinator said tht they r plannign to bring i down to 23 days...
quality of food is not at all good....
above all its like ur back to school...rules r vvv strict...get ur ties ready coz tcs believes in its associates being professionaly dressed...
accomodation provided is v gud...but ther too rules r like gates r locked at 10.30pm...etc etc
good part is that we get to learn a foreign langauge...in my case it is french...
junta is ok types wrt intelligence...same level...
my ilp gets over on 12th aug .....
hav a gr8 time

got my date as 17th aug at hyd
but our PO told us the training is in bhuwaneshwar and not in hyd.. we've beeen sent the mail regarding the joining date and place abt 15 days back.. and now we are told that it has changed.. how can that be possible.. how can thinngs change once they've been announced officially.. cud u plz clarify this...
can u also let me know if our training's gona be at the cmc centre in gachhibowli or at the hi tech city office....
another query.... is it compulsory to stay at the accomodation provided by tcs even if i belong to hyd?
we've been asked to learn a few s/w related thingys.. is it an absolute must or can we cope with the subject without any prior knowledge..

TCS visited our campus for recruitments in first week of june....got thru...but the HR representative from TCS was very keen on letting all the students know that the 'COLORBLIND' clause will b strictly adhered to and anyone who is 'colorblind' will not b recruited.....but still u ask someone who is currently at TCS...he mite b able to help u...
as for Infy and wipro i have no ideas....but hope they dont have any of this crap
i was campus recruited in jun 2004 by TCS bangalore
yesterday i went for my pre employment medical checkup...
I passed all the tests but discovered to my utter astonishment that I AM COLORBLIND!
they had a doubt so they called me again today for a re checkup for eyes by an eye specialist...
she gave me 36 slides( the ones with colored dots) to find out numbers, patterns, or color trails and i could read only 9 out of 36...
she said she is going to report me as color blind and also told me that the TCS norm is at least half the total slides shown should be clearly read...
i pleaded with her but to no avail....
An appeal to all ex-TCSers and would be joining ones....
Please tell me if TCS will reject me for this damn colorblindness thing or not( By the way i have worked in TCS delhi itself as a project trainee for 6 months without any problems due to damn colorblindness!!!)
Please if anyone has ever faced this? Help me... this is the only job i had....
my happiness is screwed...
ALso please tell whether Infosys and Wipro also have color blindness test in their medical check up....
Am i even eligible for the Software industry!!
