i got my joining date as on 21st Nov. in Triv. its too late... .. but can't help

i am from cs background. Can ny1 who have been through training at Triv share their experience here...what are the subjects required to learn during ILP prog..hows the test and gradation scheme ...how posting from Triv to other centre is done....and also plz confirm the salary struc..

any1 having same date of joining?

Hey some one in TCS please tell me which office shud I select if I am given an option after ILP ? Few of my friends in Hybd were given options ? Most of the guys got the option they put and only B`lore options was given less in no.

For me WHY means ......... I shud get a chance to learn lot of things from that Office . Also I like Java Programming and definitely shud get Cool Projects with some fairly good chances to go abroad ....... Some one told me that Mumbai Office is the best .... don`t know in which manner ........... And Some told choose Chennai .. .so that`s why I asked u guys here ..

You dont have a choice of which project you get in TCS.The day you report at your DC, whichever project needs "resources"....you'll be alotted to those.

The DC you get depends on the marks you score in your first written test in TCS(MID-TERM).

all DCs have java,mainframe and .NET.

wanna work hard and go abroad fast....go for Chennai...work is worship around there

wanna commute for 2 hrs a day and be in stingy offices....bbay....you may be send onsite on the first day to client sites like NSE..ok chance for onsite

wanna enjoy...in legacy tcs style.....with cool projects....attend meetings...go around..blore

I went through the ILP stuff exactly 2 yrs back...not sure like how much has changed in the curriculum....but compared to what goes on in infy training n all...I would say...

Guess tvmtiger has brought out a pretty cool picture abt the 3 most happening centers in TCS. Moreoever everyone expects a good learning exposure, and also want to go onsite. Is there any particular skill set that interests you ? And moreover whats your academic background ?

what abt Delhi centre... it generally doesnt feature in the converstations..i am delhite so i would want to go there...

and how good is Pune... well answer this considering that i would like to go abroad onsite as soon as possible.

great 2 find this thread. me joinin tcs pune fm 16th august. fresher fm NSIT delhi. looking 4ward 2 interact with delhites joinin pune off. seniors pl pour in yr experiences or info. abou pune office esp. fm trainin pt. of view. heard its a nice city sans d recent floodin.

well,what is the general opinion about the kolkata centre?i know it is not mentioned in the same breath as mumbai,chennai,blore.but still i'd like to know more from u all.

I am a new entrant on this forum. I have been selected by TCS in one of their off-campus placement drives this year(for 2005 passouts). I am yet to receive any official mails from them.. can ne one pls. tell me,how long i wud have to wait b4 I can actually receive some news abt. the joining dates, training etc.. someone from TCS pls. reply-heard one has to wait for as long as 6 months -also heard that off-campus recruits get paid very less compared to the guys inducted from campuses:huh: . how true is this.. waiting for all ur replies..

Call the HR guys of the branch that conducted the off-campus or just drop them a mail. They should be able to give you a tentative date. Yes the salarie would be a little low but thats just a few hundred bucks in the basic salary which sums up to around a 1000 - 1500 from the net payable and you can always catch up with the other guys if you perform well.

i got my joining at TRIV on 21st NOV...i m giving CAT this year and as it is on 20th NOV...i am perplexed with which centre i must choose so that i shall reach TRIV on the very next day..:confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:

the centres are CHENNAI, BANGLORE and KOZHIKODE (in south)...among these only i have to choose...also can ne1 please suggest me the best possible means to reach TRIV from that centre..so that i will be able to reach TRIV as early as possible

i got to know that you must report early at TRIV so that u can get hostel there. They allow 2 days before the joining date ..i belive...it means that i have to go TRIV first and from there after completing all the formalities...i have to move to centre for CAT...and after CAT i have to move back to TRIV
