i got my joining at TRIV on 21st NOV...i m giving CAT this year and as it is on 20th NOV...i am perplexed with which centre i must choose so that i shall reach TRIV on the very next day..:confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:
the centres are CHENNAI, BANGLORE and KOZHIKODE (in south)...among these only i have to choose...also can ne1 please suggest me the best possible means to reach TRIV from that centre..so that i will be able to reach TRIV as early as possible
i got to know that you must report early at TRIV so that u can get hostel there. They allow 2 days before the joining date ..i belive...it means that i have to go TRIV first and from there after completing all the formalities...i have to move to centre for CAT...and after CAT i have to move back to TRIV

although you are in wrong thread dear ...as this thread is for people joining TCS this year n also gunning for CAT...lemme tell you that there are lot of openings going on offcampus in mumbai pune etc..and you can be applicable to some of them depending upon the criteria...otherwise you have to wait n watch till the completion of ur 8th semester...or you can forward resumes to their hr people... please check it out some freshers thread for more info..GOODLUCK

I think no walkins will be thr for 7th sem students. you'll've once u complete ur course. You browse thru the sites like freshersworld.com, fresherstreet.com.. it will help u much in all placement aspects. Also, go the companies' site and register urselves.. they'll call u on their need.
i was having written test(verbals like synonyms, antonyms.. crical reasoning.. comprehension.. simple apts.. no psychometry.), technical intrvw(basic concepts in OS, DBMS, Dig Elec., Data Str's.. questions on my proj.. areas of interst.. etc.. it was easy), HR (simple questions like why TCS? rdy to sign bond?..) Placement papers in FreshersWorld helped me much.. All the Best!!

Whoa!!! 2 months and still no info:whatthat: .. well for those lik me who were recruited in july(intrview date 23rd july) - we were told that we'll be contacted by TCS during the 3/4th week of aug for document verification.. Were ur friends contacted fot the verification process atleast? and afa the pay is concerned there is not much of a difference- about a 100 bucks less in ur basic ..sums to arnd 1000-1500 .Just ask ur frendz to get in touch wit the HR guys.. This wud also help ppl lik me also.. Atleast I will get to know how long i wud have to wait..

well sir thanks a lot for ur crutial advice.....but would like to know ,generally how much OF campus recuritment takes place at the TCS .... mean how frequently they recurit via Off campus test ... and can i regiter with them on their site before i complete my course n stuff... like now im on my training ..... so im just doing analysis got a lot of time so if i can register wiht them now .. n expects a call for test ..so i can start my PREPRATION for quant . .. english n stuff..... would also like to know if they have any interview regarding ur PL skills

hi jkcool, I've not yet rcvd any offer letters or anything like tht.. I called up the TCS Toll free no. (Which was given for me during final intrvw.. I think it is not TCS HR no.) on August-1 for my result and got it positive.. I've been told that they will be contacting me during 3/4th week for the documents verification, medical checkup.. other confirmed details will be knowing then..
I'm sorry for those guys who ve not rcvd any notification.. Ask them to contact the HR ppls as said by prudencepipper..
Note: prudencepipper n myself are selectd frm the same Chennai off-campus drive. I hope we'll be contacted by TCS at the same time..

hi mba_aspirant, I think TCS takes ppl once or twice in a region per yr.. not more than that. For the 2005-passout students frm T.N Colleges, they conductd in july end in Chennai. I came to know this thru my college placement officer and frnds. So, u've to be updated reg. these info's.
Also not only TCS recruits, thr are othrs like CTS, Infosys.. You can apply for these online in their sites by now itself or when they ask.. You can see their ad's in "THE HINDU".. mainly on wednesday's opportunities.. hey.. thr've been many 2004 n 2005 pass-out ppls still without a job.. so u cant expect the call for the test.. u'll be getting by june/july (atleast)..
I think they don expect a leadership skills.. they expect a well-communicating, flexible guy with decent computer knowledge if u r a CS guy. Else, C n C++ is enf...
