someone who can help me out with this. Actually I have to fill the work ex column in IIFT form and need to confirm whether I can include this.So its kinda urgent and any input will be highly appreciated
y dont u ask IIFT themselves ?? are u another case of delayed joining from an IT company ?
Now i m xpecting joining from this IT company within a month or so..So,m in a dilemma now... Negatives of joining 1. Being 4m a non IT background,n c n all is alien to me..how hard will it b 2 work in a software firm? This is the biggest confusion... 2. My preparation will definitely suffer(I will have 2 put in xtra efforts even to just survive in the company) 3. There is a bond period.( I don't think this 2 b a big issue vaise...Is it??) Positives I am not able 2 frame a clear picture in my mind as to wat 2 do coz o these doubts...i am 70-30 towards joining..Your inputs will b valued...
1. It isn't hard to survive in IT as long as you are a) hard worker b) non-controversial. It might be tough to clear the training if you are joining Infy or my company but after that you will meet a lot of people with lower intellectual level (laterals, fake experience) My advice is DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT.
2. Yes it might, but its still better than sitting at home. As plan B - you can always give CAT next year.
3. The bond may/may not be an issue depending on your organization. Speak to seniors, but I suggest that you don't let it deter you from getting valued experience.
Hi All, I wish to put my concern in front of you guys/gals..Pls guide me through..I am an BE grad having around 4years experience in IT industry..Now I wish to give that extra edge to my career by doing MBA & that too in Finance as thru these 4years I have gained good interest in finance domain..Now I wish to know that whether my 4years workexp in IT will help me in searching for a proper placement after my PG?? Will this 4years experience add anything to my new job in this domain?? Will I be given any preference over other freshers going for a MBA in same domain??I am searching answers to all these questions....!! Also I feel doing an 1 year Executive MBA from some BSchool like ISB will help me a lot instead of giving in 2years for a regular MBA..what you guys feel ??

The query is generic as in I will be having the same doubt while filling CAT forms. Its like I am working full time there so want to know what are the requisites for me to prove it as my work ex.And yeah asking IIFt will be the last resort if I dont get the answer here before 2nd september:biggrin:
Are the delayed joinees of IT companies only people who work in NGOs ??
Man I need some1 to answer the query....Where are the gurus:-(....

Am a Pune univ. student in a not so known college in wagholi. Am troubled because I have completed my first year and have completed my Summer interns in finance domain project, and now want to take HR as specialisation wen the 2nd year is going to start.:banghead:
I heard mixed comments from people, who say that in Pune univ. you cant change ur specialisation(or stream) if intern is in different specialisation. and others who say that no worries, it can definitely be changed, watever my interns is done in.
So i am gettin comments from both sides, and as usual the college is not willing to share the rule/law of university.
So i thought you puys will be any day best to get me out of my doubts. Am extremely sorry if the thread is posted at wrong place, but the forums have grown alot these days, so forgive me.
I am currently working as a Software Engineer in one of the leading Indian IT services companies. I had asked for a stream change from delivery to consulting as I intend to attempt CAT 2009 and persue my MBA from one of the reputed B schools in India next year. Now considering my request my manager has given me an option to work in Business Insight Analystics project or choose to remain in the normal J2EE development project. Now I am in a dilemma as I don't have any idea about this particular field. According to seniors, J2EE project will give me the job security as there are many job opportunities.
Can anybody please provide me with some information about Business Insight Analystics and job opportunities in this field? Any giudance in this regard is urgently needed as I have to decide by the end of day.
I have a query. I have done an MBA from IFMR and is planning to do a phD abroad. I need to know if I can do it in 3 yrs or only 5 yrs is the option?..help me out!!
I was a BDM at Indian IT Major. Few days back, i left my job for better opportunity. Yes better in terms of Geography i was handling( I had huge health issues during past one year of my stay at this city), better in terms of quality of customers (No marquee clients in my territory). I asked for a relocation but was turned down. I had a decent achievement in spite of recession etc. So i made up my mind and put in paper few days back. 15 days. I have moved to my wanted city now and searching for a job here. I regularly get calls, but i face some issues. 1. Why change job? My honest answers fail to convince. 2. When i say i can join immediately, they raise eyebrows and dig why i left my Co. (Feel i was laid off). 3. When i say i have left my Co. they treat me with raised eyebrows; even this happens at the start of selection process.
So i request you all to chip in with your views and suggestion to tackle this issue. How should i tell them that i have left my Co? How should i convince that i have left gracefully?
i had 2 offers during the placement process. Due to recession both the companies delayed their joining. After waiting nearly 2 months, i got my joining @ aricent and joined it a week back. The 2nd company has now given me the joining in september(preponed from oct). I have made up my mind to join the second company. Now i want to know whether i should inform aricent or not.
there is no bond @ aricent and anyone taking leave of more than 3days at a stretch without informing is labeled as absconding. also, there is a clause of 2 month notice period before leaving aricent(though it was not part of declaration signed during joining.. just mentioned in offer letter).
so i wanted to know whether i should follow regular relieving process(7 day notice period) or should just leave without informing. as my notice period is only 7 days, i am sure they wont entertain the relieving process.
currently i am undergoing training @ nalanda(aricent training centre) and have only attended it for 5 days, so there is no handover of projects required. also, i haven't been paid any salary and even the permanent IDs haven't been provided.

can any one clarify whther it is binding on me to explain the reason of leaving the company?
in the offer letter 2 month notice period was mentioned.. so if i want to leave now then they can stop me for 2 months only.. that means they will train me for 2 months(as i have 12 weeks training right now) and then i am free to go(plus i will be given salary for that period)...

can some one throw some light on the matter?
There is no need to give the reason for ur resignation. and yes they can stop u for 2 months at max else will release u early...for watever period u r in the company u ll get the salary for that so there is no need to worry..
