Hi puys I got 90.93 percentile in CAT (which was very much lesser than expected) and 95.75 in XAT in my first attempt for MBA. I am an aeronautical engineer working as a research fellow in central gov. company. I have one International research paper on my name. I got calls from colleges like GIM and SIMSR. Please suggest can i go for MBA, if i can convert colleges in this range or shall i go for another attempt.
My advice: Go for another attempt. If you are capable of producing good performances in exams like CAT and XAT ( which you are ) then you should go for it. Remember that this is probably your last chance for a shot at a great college with a great brand. No harm in waiting for another year.
If you are really desperate to do an MBA now.. then its a different story..
I got a CAT percentile of 99.45. %. and calls from 2 IIM s and I am expecting calls from some Non - IIMs also.. I was working in one of the top three software companies in India and I was asked to resign when the recession hit IT nearly one year back. I have mentioned everywhere that I resigned from services. In the interview, if they come across the experience letter, there are chances that they may realize the truth. In the experience letter given by ex employer , it is stated that the request date for resignation as well as the date on which i am relieved is same , which is different in the normal resignation process. I would like to know what will be the best way of handling it. Do I need to say the truth that I am asked to resign.
Hey just say the truth yaar.. no point inventing a lie.. what if they realize that you are lying ? are you willing to take the chance ? i feel there is absolutely NO HARM in admitting that you were asked to resign due to recession.. theyll understand

i gave cat this year and got 90.56 %ile . i know that i should have more score and i was getting 95+ in almost all mock cats .but there is nothing i can do about it right now.i have calls from lbs, tapmi, nirma. but inside me i m not satisfied with my score and want to give cat a second shot.m confident of getting 98+ if i give next year. but my problem is my poor acads.
10: 89% 12: 69.5% B.E. 59.6 %
i was in gujarat board in 12 th standard and we have admission criteria for graduation such as we have to score in just main 5 subjects .score of that 5 sub only be considerd for admission. in that 5 sub i scored 82% but because of that 2 unimportant sub my score came down to 69%.
question is:
what if i get decent %ile next year : will iims or top other institutes will give me a call?or i should try to convert calls which r in my hand this year and forget about iims?

If you really believe that you can do better next year, by all means, go for it, and don't bother too much about your acads now. Some IIMs may not consider your application due to your acads, but other IIMs alongwith other top B-schools, would. It's all about belief... if you believe you can do it, you should surely attempt again. And the difference between 90 and 99+ %ile is not that much too :)

During the first 12th board, I was seriously ill & I refused to give compartmental because it will stay with me forever. After appearing the 12th exam next year I directly joined an engineering college because I had already wasted an year. My percentages in board & college are 10th - 87.6% (CBSE) 12th - 80.2% (ISC, 2nd ranker in state ) CSE engg. - 8.67 SGPA (currently in last sem.)
Does it going to create problem in getting admissions in MBA colleges including IIM & others. Please clarify? I'm in real dilemma!
Hi, I am working in central govt.dept. as Asstt. with 5 yrs. work exp. I have attempted CAT-08 with score of 76%ile. I m preparing for CAT-10 once again. But I have an query, 1. Does my exp. in govt.dept as asstt.will have any value/or negative impact. 2. How Can i justify to do mba after service of 5 yrs. in govt.deptt. to interviewers. 3. Co-currently I am also doing ICWA Final and expected to complete in next one year(June-11). How would be my job profile with only ICWA and with both MBA+ICWA. 4. Should I first go to complete ICWA and gain work ex or join any gud b-school after ICWA 5. Weightage of age factor keeping in view that presently i m 27yrs. and at a time i complete ICWA+MBA i w'be 29-30 yrs. with Nil work exp. in same profile. 6. My acads. are- 10th-84.14%, 12th -80.33% and B.Com. 62% with gud extra curr.

Since yours is a genuine problem, you could prove it too. There's no harm in accepting that you couldn't take the 12th exams earlier as you were ill. More so in your case, since when you took it next year, you got the 2nd rank. That's enough for me atleast, and I guess it should be for them too.
You have very good and consistent acads, and you need not worry just for your 12th marks.

and according to mine knowledge wrk exp people dont need CAT score as they have their wrk exp with them ....
so do u have any idea , as according to my work exp. I have to do which program and from which college ??
Krati, Even an exec PG needs to go through a selection procedure. And the work-ex needs to be really stellar for an exec PG prog. You have to see also if any reduction in fees is available for the executive program at all for reserved candidates. Best Wishes

I am a 2009 engg passout placed in TCS but still there is no sigh of joining Meanwhile I was preparing for MBA and trying in various companies.I could not take up any course as there was no certainity when I will get my joining and I will have to go... hi puys... i m in a huge trouble and need sm practical advice plzzz....:| my qualification...10th - 76 % 12th - 49.5 %, got sm problem B.E.(chem) - 61 %... july 2009 no job for 8 months....thr is a huge exploitation for b.e. (chem) trust me 6000 per month with 12 hour shift per day mns no chance of preparing(industry is generally outskirts so lots of traveling)... i was avoiding this as i want to do MBA...got bad score in CAT but little decent in MAT... i want to crack CAT dis yr...but i am afraid my low percentage(specially 12th )...and no work ex. wld screw my chances..i am confused should i drop the idea... r go for sm BPO r take a job do it for 2 years and then think abt MBA r just prepare....... it would be really great if someone could help..and pls i need sm practical advice.. not trust yourself and be confident...cause i trust myself but the circumstances are really bad... thank you...
