My acads are:
10th:- 82% 12th:- 78.4% B.E :- 61.5% Work ex:- 1 year 7 months ( TCS)
On a break since 10 months due to personal reasons....
I would like to know if I am going to be unable to apply to major colleges... Pls do reply... In case there is a different thread for it, pls let me know link...

ur grad marks will be a setback for applyin to a few IIM s.. other dan dat u satisfy 60% eligibility criteria set by most of d b schools... so u can apply to major coll
Guys, i am doing my final year B tech, have a CAT percentile of 99.02. I wanna wait for another year and give CAT again, TIME guys offered to place me to teach Quant and DI.

m Saurabh from chd.My academic %ages have been decreasing like hell.I had 74 in X,63 in XII & 58 in my graduation(BE Civil).Now m in a job since 10 months in an OIL MNC with 3.2 lpa.My cat percentile this yr has been 96.34 (lowest in quant-73,DI-99,VA-92).I had got call from IMT,IPMG,Welingkar(xpected). Now with new IIMs coming up I had also filled their form but m a bit apprehensive about it.The problem is with so low grad.score will I be able to get into IMT?ALSO SINCE I AM FROM ENERGY SECTOR HOW IS IPMG??Also ny xternal chance for IIM(ranchi/rohtak)I can't apply to foreign universities(becoz of my low grad).What shud I do????

Well... so here it goes. I'm currently a student in twelfth, studying humanities. Don't ask why, cause I don't know myself either. At the moment, I'm considering various options for my career and am quite confused about it. To avoid leaping into the dark as I've done once before, I'd like some genuine insights from past grads and experienced fellows over the subject. More or less, I'd like to know what I'll be studying in the following three to five years. I'm not asking for the entire course; broken down and explained. But a simple lay-out and general explaination of the subjects I might be studying in the near future would be helpful. Even the slightest of help would be greatly appreciated.
I need some help. I am going for higher studies and i need some suggestions. I have cleared my B tech in 2009(EEE) , now i am planning to go for Masters in UK, I need to know wat will be more beneficial for me in the future MBA or MSc IT.
I have applied for MSc IT, but at some point in my mind i prefer MBA as well.
but i think MBA without experience might be risk to spend big money, and at the same time .. how much MSc IT is gud to go for. Its all confusion everywhere.

10th - 83.6% 12th - 81.2% Btech - 68.3% Workex - Almost 2 years in a reputed IT MNC, working onsite(domestic) in the Life Insurance domain.
I am a Btech in Comp. Sc & Engg from a reputed NIT. I gave CAT last year without prep. and got 92%ile. After that i decided to join weekend coaching classes and give CAT a better shot. Couldn't prepare that well as i was onsite and had huge workload but still i was shell shocked to see that i got only 85%ile in CAT. I have a final call from IIFT Delhi but am in a dilemma whether to join or not. IIFT Delhi is one the best institutes in India but i dunno somehow i feel like i should give another shot to IIMs/FMS. Many people have advised me that IIFT Delhi is too good to leave...while some have said that yes i should go ahead and give another shot to CAT. I am in a fix as i always wanted to do my MBA from the top 5 but that would mean another year of working and taking a risk. On the other hand IIFT seems decent too and sometimes i feel wat if i dont get anything next year. Also some people have told me that 2 yrs of workex is ideal and 3 yrs of workex is not that preferred by recruiting companies. Is it so ? In short going to IIFT would seem to be a wise decision but then i would miss out on my dream and leaving IIFt would be a risk but might just pay off.

IIFT is a very good college undoubtedly, but people in the past have left it for IIMs. So if you do it again, it won't be anything new. But I would suggest you to think about your opportunity cost too. According to me, you want to leave a college at Tier 2 for a college at Tier 1. While this is good, you should also consider the waste of a year, and also, the uncertainty that comes with it.
About your work-ex, don't think too much about it. You can do equally well, if not better, by having 3 yrs of work-ex.
I would suggest you to think a bit, weigh your options and then decide. As you work for one extra year, it may be possible that your responsibilities increase and you may not be able to devote much time to CAT preparation, and thus end up getting an even lower %ile. It may also be possible that you may hit the jackpot and get 99+ %ile and an IIM convert. Take some time, think of all the possibilities and weigh them properly. If you still think your opportunity cost is not that high, then surely, go for CAT once again. Else, IIFT is a very good college.

I want to ultimately do an mba. So which degree would be best for me? am XII pass but confused about whatta do I find engg extremely boring but am giving it becuz of my dad and mum(AIEEE) i want to find out whether a bba wud b good and if yes then from which college I am an ISC student 58% marks in 12.(passed in 2009) i'm thinking of giving NMAT(C)(For admission into NM school of commerce BBA) and SET(Again for bba from symbiosis) though i'd like to know about other options i only have one month left good advice wud be appreciated i chekd out some NMAT(C) papers and they were quite easy i'm pretty sure one month wud be enuf for me to prepare for these exams as my command over language is pretty good too Which one is better? BBa from NM SOC or Symbiosis? I'm just so confused in the head I need some directions. Looking at the last few days i've only found myself searching bout BBA/BMS colleges and i desperately need some good advice

I did my B.sc physics passed with 66% frm mumbai in 2007 Joined HSBC bpo(credit cards divison) where i worked 1.5 yrs as recession hit the market it was difficult to countinue beause of the tremandous pressure qiut in feb 2009 did not even get the EXP CERTIFICATE just hav the settelment letter. After that thought of doing ful time mba (very optimistic) & also joined welingkar institute for the Diploma in business management thru distance learning 1yrcourse thought this would fill my 1 yr gap This course is going to be complete in the month of may2010.In mean time was giving chess coaching as i kn sum good chess tactics also Joined T.I.M.E For cat & cet in aug2009 Here we go CAT-67% Did not apper fr the XAT,SNAP was thinking of saving sum money.Finally gave Mat in feb-95.47%.CET was blunder won't get more than 110.Investment-50000 in last one yr return-God knows... I am right now unemployed just giving sum chess coaching & earning 1500bugs monthly wants to gv CAT & all other entrance exams once again because want to mba frm a GOOD b-school don,t want to join bpo/kpo once again.Please suggest what should i do. Any suggestions MORE THAN WELCOME......

I passed out in May 2009 and since then started preparing for MBA exams without joining any job coz i was a bit confident that this year I may get a descent college. But GK ditched me big time in IIFT & SNAP...PROMETRIC ditched me completely in CAT... At the end of the day I am having some useless 1-2 calls which I dont want to join in case if any got converted even. Finished my MBA season and started looking for some job options in some IT companies or some KPOs...I am a bit confident about my C, C++ and SQL skills so i think i can work in an IT company but IT companies dont even consider chemical engineers for offcampus...cant go for any Chemical job coz I know my technical skills really suck...moreover thanks to my 8 month 'after graduation' gap that makes me ineligible for most of the companies... Started applying for Bank PO exams from this month but cant rely on them coz Bank's recruitment process takes almost an year... Now I dont know what to do...the only option m left with is BPO sector...but i really dont want to join any BPO...i worked with a BPO for a month before starting my CAT preparation for some monetry backup, n i feel its like exploiting myself if i work in BPO(no offence to anyone)...
Now seniors pls tell me what to do guys...m really going thru d worst phase of my life...

try to find other jobs...try to find the 1s wherein ur interested..take the help of ur frenz and plcmnt agencies.. join some coaching class/selling/mkt research/ngo or worst case kpo/bpo... funda is get a job... u already hv a gap nd by not doing nething ur increasing it which is again a negative...
since u hv already taken most of exams u already know the pattern which will make it easier to clear them this time...
every1 goes thru good and bad phases of life... have faith this too shall pass...
