hey guys,I am a fresher and i just managed to convert ximb though i applied in very few colleges.i scored 98.85 percentile and got interview calls from many top colleges as well but unfortunately could not convert them. I am in a fix as whether to join ximb or join in my job and give some more attempts.My acads are 10th-95 per,12th-83 per and a btech cgpa of 8.5.i have been placed with tcs and capgemini.Any advice will be highly valuable 😃 :)
you have a very good profile and u have scored good in cat as a fresher. I would suggest you to join one of the companies and try for CAT again this year...u can surely get much better options..
i am passing out B.E in info science , in bangalore , i got infosys job as a system engineer. i am in a dilemma because i got E & Y job as an analyst under IT risk and assurance , package is 2.5 lpa + benefits, but this is not a coding job . i am confued whether i must take infosys or ernst and young , infy salary is ctc 3.25, i want to know certain things

I would suggest u take up a job which gives u more salary and more time for ur mba prep...Infy would be 5 day working, E&Y; will be ?? Check how much inhand salary u'll get...

I would suggest you to join since XIMB is good..would help us more if v know which college uve done ur graduation from...If ur hellbent on MBA from IIM then take CAT next year but ull need to improve strongly in GDPI..
I am a final year btech student. I got 98.04 in cat 2011. I have cnverted IMT G (Fin) and am at W/L 54 in VGSoM and W/L 582 in MDI. There is no guarantee that I will convert either of these two. Even if I convert MDI, I will get PGPIM. Should I join these institutes or give cat again this year?
Hi , I have a personal query to ask you.I have given cat2011 and got 90.4 percentile(qa:67.5,va:9.I haven't applied to any colleges except NIT-T which I am able to convert.Now i'm in a dilemma whether to quit the co in which i'm working for the past six months and join NIT-t and write cat-12 or continue in the job and write cat.which one will be the better option.I know i will be losing some work-ex if I join NIT-t this year.will studying in nit-t and attending interviews at good b-schools next year hamper my chances???Kindly reply........thank you...

hi every one i am engineering jobless fresher....i wrote cat 11 got 92.26%ile but did not take admission anywhere..i am thinking of dropping a year for cat 12...please tell me..that drop can be justified at the time of interview or not....here is my profile 10th 83%,12th 65%,and b.tech 63%...please reply soon...suggest me what to do?
dont drop a year..join some company, prepare and take cat again now that u know the nuances of CAT..
if u take an year off and still cannot clear CAT ull be in complete mess !!!

A small word of advice, I am in bit of a similar situation as you, so what I am going to say is my analysis. Think in the selectors shoes, you haven't shown a capacity in the past to perform academically, your guarantee for the future lies only with your CAT score. So first thing first you need an excellent CAT score (think 99+ for the old IIMs, personally 99.5 would look better). This will give you the foot hold in the doorway, next will be to force it open. For that you need the reasons why were you not performing better in your college, may be some other activities, some thing.....anything to substantiate a bit of those marks. Show something you have done in the current business, some personal contribution which stands out a bit. On another note, do think on the question why MBA, cant you do something in your family business or something on your own. How MBA will add to your aims, is it very necessary for your goals? You need to be clear on these questions because it needs your 100% to get in IIM and for that you need to be crystal clear on you end goal.

I would suggest that you join XIMB. It won't make any difference in your life in the long run that you are not from an IIM. XIMB is an equally good institute. Yes, you won't be able to 'show off' or 'brag' that you are from an IIM, but that's OK. Career-wise, it won't make much of a difference. Also there is no guarantee that next year you will be able to come up with the same percentile. I have seen people scoring 95%ile in one year and 85 in the next.

I am BE in comp science and with 3 yrs work ex(IT). I took a break from the job due to personal reasons. Then attempted MBA entrance exams and got selected in GIM. But didn't join it due to high fees (9.89l).
I want try again for the entrance exams, but I also want to pursue my IT job alongside. The catch here is that I have an employment gap of 1.5yr. Getting a job is becoming tad difficult for me.

dude even if u have 15 years of experience and 95+ in 10 and 12th still u need above 99 percentile just to get a call from iim's
