Hi, please help me out here...am in a serious fix. I gave my first CAT this year (am a fresher) and managed 97.21 %ile. Had calls from IIMK, new IIMs, MDI and XIMB (BM). Have converted only XIMB. Now I do have decent acads (95.6-X, 88.4-XII, both cbse, btech(NIT)-8.3/10).
Does XIMB do justice to my profile? If I retake CAT next year and get into a top 10 insti, will it be worth the one year I've given it? Or will it not be too much of a difference? is retaking the CAT worth it considering I have XIMB in my hands now?

Its a question of more of a want than need for you , If you want to get into top 5-7 colleges , then go ahead and try again else XIMB is a very good college and can be taken up ..
Think about it .. nobody else can help u better with this decision than you
I would suggest that if you have a job in hand or a family business,then you can go for one year experience and try again next year,else you can join XIMB as it is one of the best colleges in India.

My advice....go for a job ryt now...and give CAT one more attempt...with ur profile(I wish mine was as good as urs )...I mean if you work hard you could work wonders....so leave XIM B....and go hard for CAT 2012....ATB

My Suggestion : Join XIM-B and take CAT 12 as well. I understand its bit difficult but many ppl from top B-Schools do this and join the top IIMs every year.

Take a job first and then think about other situations.
Dropping 1 year for CAT is not justified and believe me you could not give enough attention to CAT preparation if you're not employed somewhere.
So,I would suggest you to get a job which gives you enough time to prepare for the CAT/XAT.All other things would fall in place after that :)

.I haven't applied to any colleges except NIT-T which I am able to convert.Now i'm in a dilemma whether to quit the co in which i'm working for the past six months and join NIT-t and write cat-12 or continue in the job and write cat.which one will be the better option.I know i will be losing some work-ex if I join NIT-t this year.will studying in nit-t and attending interviews at good b-schools next year hamper my chances???Kindly reply........thank you...

What do they meany by off campus? Its a regular AICTE approved programme?? Right??
Ask everything in writing. File an RTI asking for grounds of rejection and ask them to specify under which claus/rules/codes have they rejected the application.

MY university is the most FRAUD university in the world they are not giving me my 1 semester mark sheet from 4 years i have applied at least 5 times but every time they give crap reasons so issuing duplicates is out of scene as far as my btech mark sheets are concerned

Dnt knw whether asking for original marksheets is illegal or not, but many banks and private organisations do d same as part of their employee retaining policy. ICICI MBA program also keeps ur original certis for 5 yrs, and i knw names of quite a few good organisations which does the same as part of their bond.
I am a final year btech student. I got 98.04 in cat 2011. I have cnverted IMT G (Fin) and am at W/L 54 in VGSoM and W/L 582 in MDI. There is no guarantee that I will convert either of these two. Even if I convert MDI, I will get PGPIM.

How much is the bond money? Assuming you clear some PO exam in future and join later next year how much you have to pay? Find that out.
Looks like you are interested in PO jobs only. So a few more years in PO wont hurt. Think about that.

hey guys,I am a fresher and i just managed to convert ximb though i applied in very few colleges.i scored 98.85 percentile and got interview calls from many top colleges as well but unfortunately could not convert them. I am in a fix as whether to join ximb or join in my job and give some more attempts.My acads are 10th-95 per,12th-83 per and a btech cgpa of 8.5.i have been placed with tcs and capgemini.Any advice will be highly valuable 😃 😃

BOND money is 35k and 3 month notice is required
But the issue is that if i get the interview call i need my originals at that time and if i resign after getng the interview cal and doest make it then i will be at the lost from both sides

At the time of GD/PI in some other bank, an NOC from your bank will work. There should be no problen in getting an NOC as you will be ready to pay the Bond Money.

I am a B.Tech Graduate currently working in IT services sector.
Have around 1.5 years of experience as a Java Developer, currently working with IBM Sterling Commerce, dealing with supply chain management.
I am thinking of pursuing higher education. I am confused whether to do MS from USA or MBA from India. If I think of doing MS in finance/engineering management/operations(within top 20 colleges)..would that be a better option compared to a MBA(top 10) from India. Also, what is the present job scenario in US for a desi MS guy. I want to know the possibility of a job there within the period of 3 months after graduation and if there is a student loan, how easy/difficult is it to repay the loan back(again, referring to the first part, do/can I get a job there easily after graduation). Any first hand experience would be certainly appreciated.
Can anybody guide me so as I can decide what course of action would be the best for my future.

should not hamper if u top CAT or other entrance exam....Every1 has -ves in their CV/resume...that does not stop them from chasing their dreams...Be optimistic, shed all -ve ides, prepare thoroughly and give ur best shot
