Hello,

I am Neel Samant. I have completed Chemical engg from UDCT, Mumbai (one of the top chem engg institute in the world). I have a job offer from ARANCA, Mumbai as a Business Analyst(non IT) through campus placements. However, I am looking for similar profile(non IT BA/Consultant) in more established firms like E & Y, KPMG, DELOITTE, PWC. I have applied to these firms, however, for off campus placements to these firms they need an employee referral. So can anyone help me with this.

Thanks.

Buddy,

I think you get an employee referral only from your employees. IF you have no work-ex, I don't think you will be able to get an employee referral. Only, after you work some time in the company you have been placed into will you be able to get a referral from there.

Hey Nishank(Neel Samant ?), As I have told you before, getting a referal from someone on PG wont help much, assuming that most people here are young and hence are young in the organisation. If I put in your CV at EY, chances are that you'l get an interview call(if at all) after 6 months or so.
However, if someone senior(manager level) put it in, you'l get a cann in a month. So look for some contacts at slightly higher posts for better and quicker results.

Good Luck

Haha well its a network using case. There are other methods too, campus placements and online applications are there. But yes if you know someone high up, the chances of getting an interview call are higher :sneaky:
Beyond that, you need to be good enough to get selected as there are no favours there

At the time of application it will obviously be the number of months that you have upto that point. How can the institutes be sure that you will stay at your job till June

Eventually when you join, your total work ex will be counted for placements and everything else

In continuation to preetyangel's doubt, is it advisable to switch the company knowing that you would be leaving it next june for joining a college?
Hi,
Should I prepare for CAT 2012? What would be the chances of converting an IIM call and how serious would the gap be? Also, this org has a bond of 2 lacs for 4 years.
Getting a good percentile is not an issue. Have secured %iles of 99 and 98 in past CATs. A good frame of mind on the day of the exam is all I need.

I've made too many mistakes in the last 2 years that I hesitate before taking any decision. Don't want to waste the rest of the year trying to get a good percentile only to be disappointed later. Please give your opinion. Thanks.

If i understand correctly you currently have gap of 1.5 years but if did work in a coaching institute then those months wont count as a gap

But not sure if joining this firm will help you out as it has a 4 years bond and if you dont pay up or abscond before the tenure , you may not get the work ex certificate .. so think about it

But do what you feel is best for you if not 2 years MBA from IIMs then 1 year MBA will also be a great thing to do

ATB

hi all..
i am in my final year of engineering.
i started my preparation for CAT after my second year.
now because of my semester exams i stayed away from my preparation nearly 2 months.
now i don't know the time remaining for me is sufficient to crack CAT with a good percentile or not.
i am ready to spend any number of hours for my preparation.

please help me how i need to prepare.

Buddy, you have spent the last 2 years preparing for CAT. :w00t: Don't worry you are fully prepared and you are gonna rock it

Spend the remaining time giving and analysing mock CATs properly and you are good to go.

Hi.. i hv a work ex of 22 months in IT sector.. left my job now.. and m preparing for CAT 2012.
I am working as a volunteer for an NGO currently. I am nt sure if this would be counted as experience and will this gap of 6-7 months hv an adverse effect during PI of MBA colleges.

Can any 1 plz suggest what to go for if one has SIES-PGDM and Amity, Noida(MBA-General) in hand?
