is this true ?

I think so, even if they are not purely veracious, the %iles mentioned are very less. I dont think you will get into MBA if you score %iles lesser than those mentioned. 😃

In the instructions set alongwith the form, there is a detail where it tells you what you have to do when you are in the final sem and giving ACTS. Typically you leave it blank saying Results Awaited and they ask for results at the time of admission.

yup , won't apply separately to anywhere

Whats that suppose to mean ? You will have to apply "separately" to FMS and XL
I have just completed my B.Tech Agricultural Engineering. I had secured 85 % in CAT 2011 with 88% in Quant and 75% in Verbal. The cutoff for ABM in IIM-A was 79% in overall and both the sections. Currently I dont have any job. Right now I am pursueing M.Tech from IIT Roorkee and I am preparing for CAT 2012 simultaneously.
Would it impose a bad impression during PI that while I am doing M.Tech, I opted for MBA?
Kindly help me. I would be highly relieved.

No it would not so long as you can explain to them why you need the MBA and why you went in for the MTech. Dont worry about these things, there are many other things you need to think about, namely cracking the CAT and preparing for GDPI

Good Luck

Hi,
I have completed my MBA(finance) this year, looking for some good courses that helps me in my career growth, please suggest me courses with good growth and good salary.

Hii everyone ,

I am in a dilemma and want some help .

I have just completed my btech in civil engg frm a reputed NIT.
My goal is to do MBA the coming year i.e target is CAT 2012 for which i have already started preparation . I had given CAT 2011 but sadly ended up with 91:banghead:

But presently i have got two job choices frm campus.

A private construction company with less salary (
&

A Psu with thik thak salary (35k to 40k) but placed in some interior place but with very less work burden.

Which job will be better for me keeping in view my future mba aspirations ??

And one more thing Dose the type of work ex matters during MBA ?? means which company ?? reputation of the company ?? job profile ?? Do all this matters or just the duration of wr ex ???

Plzz help me resolve my dilema.

Hi
I have recently graduated from a non-IIT but one of the top 10 engineering colleges of India.
My profile is as follows:
Class Xth: 93%
Class 12th: 93.8%
Undergrad: 73.6% (top 10 in class)
GMAT Score: 750
Extra-curriculars: Published a research paper in technical domain and presented at an international conference; Won at an international event in the US; Editor, Alumni magazine of college; Involved in several community initiatives: Several other leadership positions and achievements.
I wish to pursue an MBA from a top b-school, and I'm presently confused between preparing for CAT(to get through IIM A,B or C) or concentrate on getting through LBS MIM.
I wish to know which one is better overall, also taking into account the costs involved since I belong to a middle class family.
Any perspective/opinion will be much appreciated.

Dont think of all these things. It does not affect if you could explain properly. Ppl have done mba 1yr from some college, and switched to another good MBA college..

Hi.

I'm an engineering grad with about 21 months experience in consulting( not really hi funda consulting though) . I'm kind of hit dead end with my job cos

1) Not learning anything great at work
2) Not really enjoying work as it as got a bit miserable
3) Do not have much time to prepare for CAT/GMAT

My profile is :
10th : 79%
12th : 95%
Eng : 73%.

Gave CAT twice ( 2009: 97.3 , 2011 : 93 No calls both times)
I'm thinking of taking a break and preparing for CAT. Will taking a break now (with about 21 months work ex) from work affect my chances when it comes to interviews( what ever IIM i get a call from). Also is there anything i can do to justify the break, in case i quit my work.

Don't quit your job. That should be the last thing in your mind.:nono::nono:
Continue with your job and simultaneously prepare for CAT/XAT. Though year gap of 1 year won't matter much, but it would matter if anything goes wrong or different from your expectations.CAT of late has become quite volatile and you can't bet your 1 year just for preparing.

One of my friend is working in an airline as a pilot, his family is in import export business. He is now thinking about doing distance MBA mainly because he himself want to open some sort of side business related to import export. He is really confused about which course and from which college to choose? Can anybody suggest me a good college and a good course for him.
I would also like to know how is MBA in international business from symbiosis?
And which is the best college for distance MBA?

Symbiosis and IGNOU are both good. He can also look at online courses from the various IIMs though reliance education or hughes. But distance learning will help only if he is already in a managerial/business position.

Hello everyone...
I'm a new member here and this is my first post so please pardon me if I have posted my query in the wrong section.

Ok,
So I'm a 2012 CSE fresher and I graduated from an engineering college from my city(Visakhapatnam) which is not so great.
I haven't got placed yet and since it is June already I'm not quite sure if there is any scope of getting placed until next year.
I am not able to decide among the following so please help me out.
Before that
Xth:83%(ICSE)
XIIth:84%(CBSE)
Engg:60%(JNTUK affiliated college)

Basically I ruined my engineering and didn't study well and stuff and to worsen things up my college didn't have any placements.
So now should I
1. Join a course like Java or something and wait for off campus placement drives to be held in September( Not sure if they will be held again this year. If someone knows anything about it please feel free to help).
2. Not wait for placements and not waste money on courses and join a MBA training institute(TIME) instead.
3. Join some BPO, make some money, prepare for MBA parallelly?

I'm in a ****ed up state right now and I'm starting to feel worthless. :(
Please guide me people.
Thank you. 😃

Buddy

: to PG! 😃

You have posted the query at right place

See, most of the colleges give high importance to 10th and 12th marks and you have decent marks in both. So, need not worry a lot. 😃

Very few consider grad marks as well, so you should not bother much about them. Not getting into those very few doesnt stop anyone from doing well in career in long run!

Will suggest not to join BPO and prepare in parallel.

Instead, i will suggest to join coaching to prepare for CAT and other MBA entrances. Simultaneously, keep a track of off campus drives and apply to them as and when they happen. Rest assures, atleast IT industry is going to have it for sure  No need to join any course and spend money on them.

Rather, till off campus happens, focus on preparation well, score high and you have all the chances of getting calls from good colleges.

Cheers and All the best!
PLEASE HELP!!!

X - 81%
XII - 84%
BE - 53%

CAT 11 - 98.6 %ile
XAT 12 - 98.8 %ile (did not apply to XLRI or XIMB or GIM)
MH-CET 12 - 99.77 %ile

Got calls from new IIMs but could not convert due to weak profile. If I repeat CAT and score 99.5+, even then my weak profile will pull me down (except for IIM-C). My long term aim is to pursue FPM from an IIM or XLRI. Currently I can get into PUMBA (MBA++) with my CET score. PUMBA is definitely not on par with TIER-1 B-schools.
Should I repeat or go to PUMBA? Please guide me.

Looking at ur CAT/CET 11 score i feel u deserve a better college..

Buddy, i wud suggest to continue with your current job & Studies...

Profile will not be that big a issue for colleges like FMS/Symbiosis/NM/JB/MDI/IMT/TAPMI/Great Lakes & others...

( please rule out IIM's & IIT's & may be NITIE as most of them need 60% agg in Engg)

though myself a victim of medicore profile... but saw many freinds with this sort of profile getting in to top 20 colleges.

PS:my personal opinion, u may take a informed call.
