The free material is very old one and a lot of questions that I faced in PRM III are from the recent material.

Cleared Exam IV
I'm now a PRMIA certified Professional Risk Manager
I just took my first test, exam 3. How do they notify me if I pass or fail? By email? Or on my account online somewhere? The print out I got after the test says my score will be reported to me via the PRMIA mail system in the next 15 days. What is the PRMIA mail system???

Any would love to see some more activity on this thread with ur shares and thought about how to approach this exam>
First u will have to register as a student from a low income country by paying 50$....then u will be eligible for the for the low income country fees which 146.25$.....but this is not a full membership....as in der will be some features like getting invites to seminars and stuff missin.....but i don think that is really required....so register for 50$ and that will be valid for a one yr....so if u clear all the four exams within the yr....well and gud....if not u will hv to register again for 50$......to avail the low income country fees....hope u understood... 😃

Yup got it. So its better to register with 50$ fees since India is also considered low income country and get the discounted exams fees. Thanks dude..I guess being working or non-working doesnt really give any exemption.
So have you cleared these exams/ or going to attempt? If so did u use any external exams material? Also why are many opting for the Exam 2? ANy particular reason?
Any tips for newbies would be great.. 😃
lol....dude....i'm a newbie too....plannin to attempt exam 2 in jan....the thg is exam 2 is maths....simple stuff....jus calculus algebra n probability....n a lil statistics....including regression n stuff......exam 1 has a huge syllabus....trust me....its really big n its full of finance....n u cant give exam 3 n exam 4 widout knowin the basics of exam 1 n 2....atleast dats my opinion....n i hv downloaded dis 2004 handbook....its available on the net.....the actual material is too costly....so i'm refering to dis 2004 material n wateva new stuff is der....i'm tryin to get it frm different textbooks....supposedly some syllabus has been changed....so i downloaded the syllabus frm the PRMIA site n referring to it to check wat has been changed....if u hv some newer material...plzz do let me kno....maybe we cud help each other coz all the others seem to hv finished their PRM n not replyin anymore here.....
here's my mail id....
Sure surjan...I';m actually considering buying those notes...but due to hectic work schedule...haven't really got time to research to my satisfaction...but shall share them with u ...
I actually wanted to know though...the digital format mentioned on the site...what is it.? Will it be in a pdf format for downloading or..will it be similar to CFA where u need an external software to view it?
Also after the (low income country discount) what would be cost of the material?
Im actually planning to appear for CFA level 1 in the coming june.....i think i'l be ordering the printed material for it.....n i think the prm material which they r givin wont be in a pdf format.......its more of a online thg....n there r different materials to choose frm.....prmia has tied up wid organisation....those guys give some material in the form lecture videos n excel sheets etc. n the actual material given by prm is around 290$ but wid discount it comes to 217.5$.....but...this is a lil confusing to me as well......coz der r different materials...not sure if they r same.....or if we need both....or thgs like dat....jus chec out the site...maybe u'll understand it better....
Hey try4jay, I found out that if u buy the material u don get it in a pdf format. u will hv to login on their site evry time n read it but u can neither print it or save it offline.

try out Riskprep - PRM Exam Preparation, PRM Test Qustions, PRMIA Sample Exams for practice qs, it will cost u 20 USD. for exam 2 handbook is fine. but when u do practice qs if u see some concepts u dont know or u hvnt seen in handbook, just find it out on net and also follow the prm syllabus closely
ok....thanx alot....cud u gimme ur mail id so dat i can contact u for my other 3 exams later bcoz it mite be difficult for u to follow dis thread...
Hi Puys,
I have a couple of doubts about PRM membership, it would be great if anybody here can enlighten me about them:
1 The PRM Membership fee for low income country is one time payment or do we need to pay the 50$ for both the years (2 years during which we will have to complete the certification) ?
2 These 2 years needed for certification begins from the day when you obtain sustaining member certification or from the day when you register for your 1st Prm exam?
Thanks in advance!:)
Cheers
the two years start from the dat u register by paying 50$.....n yes the membership is only for a year....so if u take longer than a yr to complete the 4 exams u will hv to pay the 50$ again the next yr.....but i advice u to complete it in one year if possible......
The two years are counted from the date you appear for the first exam
