I have started preparing for GMAT and I am targeting ISB in particular. I have more than 8 years of experience in IT but in different domains (Telecom, Gaming, Healthcare, Financial). I have decent acads (10th:79%, 12th:80%, B.Tech:73.5%). I have been promoted almost every year in the companies that I have worked so far and I am currently working as a Manager in a reputed Bank.
Just want to know
1) With more than 8 years of experience and good decent score (I am targeting > 700), What are my chances for ISB?
2) Are there any other good B schools in India or outside that I can look at?
3) Will my experience (which will be more than 9 years by the time I apply), be considered good or bad?
Hi, a friend of mine is comprehending on discontinuing his
B.Tech(He's in his 6th sem. He was forced to join Engg.) and going for a
BBA degree(He always wanted to do BBA). Other option with him is to
join a one sitting degree. Can anyone tell me how this is going to
affect his future MBA(GMAT or CAT) prospects?
I am an telecomm engineer with 2 years of work ex in IT field. Am really interested in MBA, but am tired of the scoring decent marks in CAT but not getting anywhere because of the extremely high criteria. I have decent career(Xth-89.xx, 12th-84.xx, B. Tech-8.47/10) Could anyone tell me if GMAT will be good idea now or i should just give up and continue in IT.

What should I do now - Should I go for another attempt for CAT or not because by Dec 2015 I will be having a total work ex of almost 4.5 years.. I mean with this much work ex, will it be good to go for 2 year MBA program..

Do I stand any chance for getting through?.. If so, what should be my minimum target score in GMAT?...

Hi All - I am having 3.5 yrs of work ex in IT sector(retail-eCommerce projects mainly).
Do anybody have any idea about Business Analytics course - These courses are offered by many bschools like ISB, IIM Ranchi and many others. The course duration varies from 3 months(IIM Ranchi) to 1 year.
So my question is - 1. How effective will it be to take up this course as my aspiration is to work ( or rather align my career ) in decision support system.
2. I will be appearing for CAT 2015 so will taking up this course add up any significant value
I have done my engineering from a reputed engineering college in India. I have 2.5 years of experience and is planning to give my GMAT in next 3-4 months. Do I stand any chance of getting through Nanyang Business School if I apply next year. I secured 96% in 10th and 92% in 12th.

2) GMAT: I have not yet written the GMAT but expect it to be 700+, so just consider it to be 700 (on the downside)
3) Work: 20 months till now, but let's say if I apply for 2016 entry, by the time I apply it will be around 28 months or for 2017 entry it will be around 40 months.
4) Nature of work: In Management Consulting (Energy sector practice) at a 'Big Four', have worked on a diverse range of clients and projects in the sector, but no international experience, all projects in India
5) Other activities: I am appearing for CFA L-1 this June (will hopefully clear it), I am an active volunteer for the alumni association of my institute, I have taken various initiatives towards organizing events while at college, I also have a couple of Coursera online course certificates and hope to achieve more soon.
I would like to know how competitive is this profile (or not at all)? Which B-schools is it worth applying to (for 2016 or 2017 entries)?
