had my GD/Pi today we had a questionnaire there was an essay & then a casetudy PI questions were tell me about ur self why should we take ur strenghts why did u quit ur job.(was working for a few months at a bpo b4 this MBA bug bit me) what did u learn there? what r ur hobbies told them reading & about think & grow rich .tried 2 grill me on that what is ur ambition? what if u don't achieve it? how long will u try? I was afraid what if they ask me any sub related Qs but i gave long lectures on all the above things so they did'nt get a chance to ask
now the second one u r born & brought up in pune, tell me about pune what's the radius of the city,population which side does debit come & which side does credit com? why so? where do assets & liabilties come?(comm background) tell me about HLL what soaps do they have what is sensex why is stock market imp what is ur ambition is the govt allowing fdi into retail chain?how much? finally asked me to take candies so guys a lot of questions.there were many more Qs but I don't recall all.phew ??:
My interview like everyone's was pretty fine..... The GD was a simple case and thanks to my group that it never became a fish :grab: market ,instead everyone was supportive and so it got over in 20mins only...... Then came my first interview: There was some President of Tata and a young Fellow... P)WHich field of MBA? ME) Marketing P)Why? M)I think I m suited for it.... P)diff. bw selling and marketing?? M) Blah blah....gave some jargon... p)Do U have fire in ur belly M)As a son of army man yes and this is wat I have learnt from my father....to be myself without thinking wat others think abt me...and be a winner all my life.. P)Strengths? M)Self determined,dynamic,convincing. P) But U cant convince me?
M)I m trying hard,let me do it.. etc etc....approx 20mins
2nd interview was tougher ,a very old man and a middle aged person
Old man was really very aggressive ,might be an engineer himself
All sorts of Why MBA and not MTech....and what after 10 yrs...Why SIMS...Where did U hear abt SIMS....What abt Indian Economy,China ,USA all .....

hi i had my interview on 11th of Feb,sorry for the delayed post.Actually i was not well.But as u had read it was very routine sort of .
But in my second interview even i had a slight feel of that so called stress interview................

on emore thing whichi came to know is that this time the ratio of selecting student is 1:3:) .One of the senior told us in PUNE that this time they had called 900 students for 300 seats.
hi guys! Even I came to know from a senior that this time they have called less number of ppl for interviews(that is why the cutoff has also gone high at 55) so the ratio is 1:2.5,and this is for sure as he confirmed from an interviewer...So the chances are really high. One more thing I came to know is that there are 5 criteria in interviews for evaluation(each of 20 marks)and 65-70 is a good score in that...And yes ur GD is more important than PI becoz PI was very relaxed..So,chill guys we all pagals will rock SIMS

hi guys. had my interview on 11th at SIMS ... and it was good..The psycho test was interesting.. and the GD was a war zone.. i mean every one wanted to talk and no one made any sense...
the interviews were a breeze .. the usual questions were asked... but no technical and hardly any CA.. At the end of the agonisingly long 5 hours the process was over...
KJ - SIMS would be close.....KJ would probably be a lil ahead. But SIMS infrastructure is real good . Placements have been quite similar. Both have quoted 5L+ avg salaries. KJ is working on renovating n stuff. Some how i find the services kids factor give SIMS a better crowd too. Plus sims belongs to the Symbiosis tag. All u have to tell others after u pass out is that u were from symbi...unless specifically asked.
Welingkar - Well even welingkars have quoted an avg of 5L.....but some how....personally i would still rank it below KJ n SIMS
can u guys rank the following colleges: SIMS,KJ Somaiya, Welingkar,TAPMI

hey, 1.TAPMI:c'mon U cannot keep it in this league,it is way ahead all the other three........Its among top 15. 2.I would say its Wellingkars,though placements are almost alike it has got the name and the selection process is much tougher...Also,now a days ppl do choose it over KJ. 3.Its ur choice now,KJ or SIMS...Both have almost equivalent placements and SIMS is much better infra wise...KJ has got tough competition than SIMS..But at the end its ur personel choice which matters..
I wud also like to mention one point here. Guys ,SIMS has not got the required recognition because it is specially for ppl with defencew background so the civilians dont know abt it much,also when a college is reserved for a special class the selection process is a bit eased out...But if it was open for all I think the competition would have been much tougher seeing its infra and all...So,Just listen to ur heart and make the choice...Best of luck
yup i agree but we need to c the personal growth factor too & wat about gelling up with ppl.we willsuit the bill if we r comfortable with ppl with same family background
today was a shocker day 4 me...??: ....got grilled in scmhrd pi bigggggggggggggggg time...and guessss wat mera interviewer wsa the same guy who moderated my case study in sibm.....and i have made a mess of my life in front of them.......thodi shanti milli hai sunn k ki 1:3 ka ratio hai....but as it goes...JAB KISMAT HO PANDU..:(

with symbiosis institutes being the 1st to announce lists of admitted students.....they sure gonna rake in cash cos of cancellations . this problem is gonna affect us too.....especially for those with multiple calls.
