hey all this mail specially for seniors....i read thru previous posts ....so we girls need to wwear saree.. fine....but is it compulsory to wear it evryday as normal week days also....and is it the same blue saree tht the coll provides us or we can wear ny saree.....
secondly regarding laptop as it is mentioned by u all it is not compulsory but since i would like to carry my 1 can u plp plz suggest tht is there any minimum config tht is required or can we have our own config....plz advice...thnx

first of all u dont have to worry as it is a residential coll and everyone has to stay in the hostel so u will get a room. secondly as far as our experience goes it was g8 . i mean we all were excited and anxious of the fact as to what is going to happen in the coming days. all i can tell u is that u will have a g8 time and listen feel the first hand excitement urself.
and also feel free with ur ques as we are there to help u out .

Folks we need to look for old posts before asking for a query to confirm whether it hs been asked previously or not
@deeya84 - mate start using normal fonts and normal colors 4r typing .it wud be readable .
@Seniors - one query - did not get the thingy which says one need to be in formals all the time ? what all needed to be brought by us to the hostel ?

I know that all of you are really excited about getting through to SIMS and really looking forward to the next 2 years there cause I am going through the same, however lets not get too carried away.......The seniors have really been very nice and helpful but lets not check their patience by asking them the same questions over and over again......please I request you to go through the previous posts before you ask any question.......
For the purpose, I would suggest that all of you go through posts 620 and 621......cause they more or less answer every issue that we all might have right now....apart from that if their is anything else that you have a doubt about, only then would I suggest that you ask your query.......again i request you all to not repeat the same questions........
LAPTOPS ARE NOT MANDATORY HOWEVER ITS ADVICED THAT YOU CARRY EITHER A LAPTOP OR A DESKTOP.
ITS A RESIDENTIAL COURSE......THAT MEANS ALL ARE TO STAY ON THE CAMPUS IN THE HOSTEL......SO NO QUESTIONS ABOUT FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS.......EVERYONE STAYS IN THE HOSTEL........
GALS CARRY ENOUGH SAREES AND GUYS ENOUGH PLAIN SHIRTS...........
WAIT FOR A FEW MORE DAYS.....THE PERSONAL ADMISSION LETTER WILL REACH YOU SOON....IT WILL HAVE ALL THE DETAILS ABOUT THE FEE STCTURE........ACC TO THE PROSPECTUS THE FIRST INSTALLMENT SHOULD BE AROUND 90 GRANDS..........
The above issues have been answered several times but they are being asked yet again.....so I have just summed it up........

- Approx wat % of Simzites this yr have laptops
- ur spclztn depends on performance of the 1st sem true? means if u r in top 40 CGPA wise u get to choose or r eligible for Dual?
- Dual is the best course to pursue in Sims. Comments
- Some highlights of HR spclztn plz regarding faculty, placements and intake ....
am sure many of theses queries will be answered in the cal lettr n the orientation too....but jus wanna be prepard for a strt....

well saurabh MA Eco is not compulsary but u can do it as a correspondence course..for HR guys a degree in law is compulsary which again is correspondence course frm symbiosis law college...the college will take care of that.....u guys will have 2 pay extra fees for these courses......
and Frieden Leibe all the course were almost the same as far as placements goes....ard 45-50% students have laptops in our batch...urs will be the first batch for general mba for starters...i mean we all had to fill our options while filling the forms and we were given admission to the specialization we wanted....so whats gonna happen with ur batch is something i can't answer at this moment but will clarify soon....specialization u get will depend on ur liking and ur performance....Marketing is something SIMS is known for... and it comes with dual so u can call it best course but believe me they r more or less same as far as placements goes n u will get a taste of everything during the first sem....after which u'll have to choose ur specialization ....... HR faculty is as good as any other faculty.....placements are also almost at par...

Dude what I can tell you is that incase you have been waitlisted for the course at SIMS, that is more or less a guarentee that you will make it to SIMS..........and how can I say that.....hmmmm..........actually from watever info that I got regarding the waitlist I have come to know that the waitlist is really very small.....i mean there are only abt 15 students in the waitlist right now and that is the reason why no waitlist nbr has been given.....the intake of the instt is 240 and considering that there atleast have be 15 people who will be opting out from some other instt other than SIMS.......
So you should start preparing for coming down to pune, to SIMS.........
after this waitlist though, if there are more cancellations of admns ( which again there's a huge probabilty that there will be) students are sent individual intimation........
Again I am stressing that this is what I have got to know........Would like few of the seniors commenting upon how correct the info is..........
anyways you just chill and relax...........hopefully I should be seeing you at SIMS.......

Dude the thing is not only is SIMS under Symbis umbrella its also an institute estblshd with MoU with govrmnt so its kinda semi govnt, an ISO 9001:2000 certfd...well speaks a lot about the institute and AICTE approval doesnt really count a lot then....i think...moreover its been gaining lot of attention lately and i think once we are there we shud try to seek attention in our own way....u know ace in inter B schools quizzes debates...events.... the stuff.....show potential ....n prove it too....in short market ourselves!
Students shud play an imp part in spreading the buzz....well just smthng tat i feel we shud be doin......
Regarding MA Eco thing ....I Have absolutely no idea!!!
However i do feel an extra work in ur resume looks gud and shows the candidates versatility and diligence.....if u ace it all......personally i cant take so much pressure....well lets c....for now i have 2 mnths in hand...plan to watch tons of movies...roam around freak out...also thinking of talking to some banks regarding loan n yea i need a laptop so will thnk about it once in the insti......
as for waitlisters PPL keep the faith....best of luck

1)for the 1st yr u'll have to pay a total of 1,30,000.....thats inclusive of hostel n messing.
