hi dj kaurwell i can understand ur confusion. well dear i also have a choice between imt-hr, imi-hr, tapmi(hope-fully) siib and many more.. but see te thing is that i have given 8 interviews and i have not fould the kind of rocking people as i did in sims and siib. moreover brand name sells and i think that symbiosis has a better brand name. moreover aicte approval will give mba against pgdm of nirma . sims is going to be amulgamated with deemed society.these are positive. its important decision to select the college so make a research and then take a decision.well i am going to sims on 26 to deposit the fee and also look at the institake caresachan

@ Girls,the lady at the office told me that girls have to wear only sarees for
the first 15 days!!!(But why SENIORS?)
Later it would be salwar kameezs but no jeans!
when I asked her about the trousers & suits mentioned in the letter, she did not seem to have much knowledge about it .Still not satisfied with her answers.
Girls on the campus were seen wearing trouser-shirts & salwar kameezs.

please don't take it the other way but don't you think its a lil late to have realised that SIMS doesn't have DUAL course anymore specially when you applied to the instt cz of that plus you gave up a few other instt for that......No offence but just want to say that in important matters like these please be very careful and do your spade work properly cause its your career at stake.........Its ok if you didn't have the prospectus,you could have seen the website........
Ok now for your query....If you would go back and read the previous posts I believe that I have already addressed the issue but anyways I'll do it again,for the benefit of you and other poeple like you who are new to the thread......
Starting from this year the divisions for the various specialisations won't be made at the time of admission...plus the course has been made into a General Management one.....What happens now is that you get to choose the specialisations after the First Semester and as they have limited and alloted seats to every specialisation,it is strictly on the basis of your performance in the first semester.......You can choose any two specialisations as well ,one as your major and the other as a minor...that is a DUAL course.....But the imp thing again is that you have to do well in the first sem cause otherwise you might just land up with a specialisation that you dnt have interst in and at that juncture it will be too late to leave the instt and try again.........
Now why I personally think that this has been done is because SIMS had started a lot of other specialisations or courses (whatever you might call it) in addtion to your usual Marketing,Finance,Sysytems and HR...they have International Business,Telecom and IT and a few more details of which are mentioned in the prospectus as well as the website.Now, I think,not many people used to apply to these courses at SIMS cause if you wanna go in for IB you might as well try IIFT or SIIB,same with Telecom and It ....SITM....so they used to have vacant seats or maybe a lil incompetant people joing SIMS....so in order to negate that they have started the General management funda...cz smbdy will get these sepcialisations no matter what and like I said before at that time it will be too late to back out..............Though this is the reason that I have been able to figure out.....but again no complains with SIMS.....its a rocking instt and no matter which specialisation you do you will get a great career.....................

No offence dude but if im not wrong da earlier dual ws also based on da major minor thingie wherin u cud opt for 2 courses.

As regards 2 my not doin ny spade work dude i think evrybody shall agree tht there ws no mention of dis during our GD/PI n dis ws revealed 2 us only wen v got da prospectus n in my case tht ws jus a few days bk.So...........
Moreover even d seniors were not aware of it till a lil while ago.

thot i'll join this thread as I too went for the sims gdpi this year.
Sahil... If you find out about the dual thingey... do let me know. I too am damn confused.
And is everyone done with the admission n fees payment?? I still have to go n get it done. Am waiting to recieve my migration certificate. So will be going to pay the fees in a day or so.

DUDE : wanted to say confirmed back in previoius posts that its the sole decision of SIMS authority and it is they will come with the LIST .
I understnd ur worries and concern but it wud be better idea if u CALLsims and confirm from them about the WAITLIST.

- choosing a specialisation entirley depends on ur skill set,ur inclination towards a particular stream of managment,ur job/career aspirations and yes as everyone said...on ur performance in your first sem...
- so frnds...kindly make a thorough study and analysis of the specialisation which u desire to take...have complete knowledge about it..
- an indepth appraisal and detailed research,inputs frm frnds,batchmates and seniors will help us out a lot...

as the discussion is going on abt the placements let me also contribute towards that... on the day of GD/PI of sims at bangalore . i had met a guy who also came 2 PI he was saying that his freinds are also studying at sims and that offers r only round abt 3.5 L on an avg. i cannot confirm this figure ...
there also another school of thought that says we can divide the inst around the country in 3 tiers .
class 1 has elite b schools (iims.jbims,mdi,spjain etc)
class 2 has good schools(sibm,xim,mica ,tapmi etc)
class 3 has decent schools(SIMS. siib, nirma etc)
the placements for class 1 (AVG 8 L)
class 2 (AVG 5-6 L)
class 3(AVG 3.5-4 L)
and these r last years figures and since this year avg salaries have gone up
we can also see an incr of abt 0.5L for SIMS .. this i got from speaking 2 my faculty at the institue

Good morning to u all its 4 in the morning and 4 of us r here to congratulate all those who have made it to SIMS and are going to join it. We are glad to see that ppl with passion and zeal are joining SIMS.
Before we clarify certain things and give gyan we as fellow SIMSites know for a fact that if u ppl work with the same vigor in SIMS nothing can stop u and sky is the limit.
Now for some facts The HIGHEST package was 12 lacks but actually one of the students who had a lateral placement and had experience in the defense forces got a package of 14 lacks in HSBC. The average was 5.2 lacks.
We will be embarking on our summer projects soon; there are 4 of us here right now:
