I was interviewed on the fifth of february at rbi jaipur. Since the amazing hospitality and infrastructure of the organisation has already been mentioned, i would only say it is top notch! More importantly, being an engineer i was expecting to be grilled in that faculty but somehow the chair and i had a book in common so the entire process transformed into one of exciting and engaging discussion! The most hilarious part was when the chair and a member and i spent about thirty seconds recalling the name of an author when eventually madam memeber intervened with the correct name! Overall, april is going to be a long wait for me!
I have been working in SAIL for 3.5 years now and I have cleared RBI phase-2 also. Please tell me if it be wise to switch to RBI from SAIL(after 4 years of work experience) ? As I have some political source, I have been working in Delhi regional office of SAIL, where the office timings are fixed, i.e. 9 to 6 and the work pressure is quite low. Please give your suggestions.

Found this latest speech by our Deputy Governor of RBI, Mr. S. S. Mundra to be very relevant to the banking sector in India today. Even when it's apparent that core banking institutions in India are far more competent that its Asian or Western counterparts, they still lack technology and are sloppy in implementing suggestions from the Reserve Bank.

I have to catch the 3.45 p.m train on the same day. Can I expect it to be over by 2.30 p.m or should I catch flight. Those who already attended interview please reply.

Hi everyone! I have recently joined this thread. I will appear for RBI Grade B this year, 2016. Last year I skipped since I was least prepared for it. This year even though I have started preparing, and there is this whole year for the advertisement to come out, I already feel panicked! There is so much stuff to learn, so many things to gather, Phew! I am working in the banking sector for the past4 years and trust me, that doesn't make Grade B any less frightening. My main concern is regarding Quants. I am not someone with an engineering background or loaded with a Maths degree. Quants literally scares me! I would really appreciate if you guys guide me on how to approach this section of the exam. Which text books should I refer or how many questions it is advisable to attempt in Quants section.

The general feeling was that economic was a tough optional and business administration was a far easier paper. It was discussed that there may or may not be fixed quota or normalization for each subject. Today i appeared for interview..interview pattern was similar to others.. ;questions were asked from almost all fields.. it started with hobby.. then moved to graduation.. after it some questions on my current job and developmental role of rbi... then some questions on HDI, social issues.. then ques on printing of notes.. and at last questions were asked based on today's newspaper and follow up ques....
so the crux is:
- all ques were very basic
- atmosphere was very comfortable
- they do ask factual ques
- no cross questioning.. they simply ask ques .. nd u answer.. then they moved to next ques nd so on..
like many others have suggested ; know what ever is written in your biodata and basic knowledge about rbi and is functions..
