RBI Grade-B Officer 2015-16 , Phase-I & II

I have my post graduation mark sheets but have misplaced my degree. Would that be a problem during document verification?

Is NOC from presentt employer mandatory at the time of interview?

This is regarding all the exams.. I am not very good with quant and reasoning.. Do i hav to join a coaching for learning the short cut tricks and methods or sself practice would be sufficient???

Would someone be able to explain this REVALUATION RESERVE thing? Thanks.... “Revaluation reserves arising from change in the carrying amount of a bank’s property consequent upon its revaluation would be considered as common equity tier 1 capital (CET1) instead of Tier 2 capital as hitherto. These would continue to be reckoned at a discount of 55%,” RBI said in a statement on Tuesday.

Guys please suggest a book or website for quant and reasoning practice. With explanation, formulas everything

I am writing about my interview experience in RBI.I reached RBI Lucknow at sharp 9:00 and it was so good see the ambience. First they called for document verification and then Interview started at 10:00. I entered in a room where a five members board was already seated there. They were quite friendly and it was headed by a sardar ji. They mainly asked about graduation and hobbies. They didnt asked much about my current job but asked about Banking systems. I belong to Computer science background and they asked atleast 5 questions. Later they aksed about how RBI directly affects a farmer etc. Overall it was nice experience. Best of Luck to those who are yet to appear for interview.

Pls tell how to prepare for economy portion in general awareness section (phase I).

My RBI Grade B Interview in Lucknow.

I reached lucknow 1 day ago and stayed in a near by hotel. Didn't take any risk of having outside food so I ate only fruits the day before.

DDAY - Reporting time 9 am. I reached there at 8:40 am. Few candidates were already waiting outside the office for the concerned person to come for registering our entry at the gate. After 10 mins we went inside we were made to sit in a room on 3rd floor. There were 13 candidate for that day in which 8 were from same state.

The biometric and documents verification started at around 9:15.

The interview started at 9:40 sharp. I was the last candidate to be interviewed.  Each interview lasted for almost 15 mins and none of the interview went beyond 18 mins. The whole interview process including mine got finished by 1:30 then we had lunch there only. My train was in the night at 8 and two more candidates were returning from the same train so we went to the near by mall and watched a movie.

Interview :

There were 5 members (including 1 lady member). Chairman at the centre, 3 to my right and 1 in left.

The chairman had written some details from my biodata in a sticky notes paper. It was about my past company's name and the award that I got. He started asking about my first job profile(EY) and then about my 2nd job profile (DB)

I had appeared in last year mains also but missed by 1 mark so he also enquired about that.

The second person, sitting to my right, asked 3 technical questions and then the reason why I left DB.

The 3rd person (lady) enquired about my qualification, questions from MBA and If I have any backup plan and what would you do if you didn't get selected ?

The 4th person asked what I was doing after leaving my job. (I have 3 yrs of gap) I told that I was preparing for Civil services but failed in mains.

The 5th person said no questions. I thanked them and left.

NOTE : I am not disclosing the exact questions and answers right now and to avoid any controversy but I will surely do it after the interview process is over.

Suggestions for to be interviewed candidates:

The general budget came just before the day of my interview, economy survey 2 days ago and rail budget 3 days ago. I spent very much time going through all these but didn't get any questions directly from it. Don't spend too much time on these. For economy survey go through the first chapters of both volumes and that chakravyuh wala chapter.

No Questions from Hobbies

For the candidates who have experience, please prepare very well about your company and job profile

And for non experienced candidates  focus more on your graduation subjects.

Even if you are unable to answer 1-2 questions on economy and finance that is ok but if you stuck in questions related to your job profile, company and graduation that will have more negative impact.

ALL THE BEST

Hi guys..  My interview experience...

Reached much before time..  Waited for other candidates to come.... Just for a company....

Went inside after getting scanned ourluggage..

My name was second in the interviewlist.... That gave me some butterflies in my stomach... Anyways... Documents verification and biometric verification was done by 9:15 and everyone was sitting in the waiting area....  And served with cold drinks and water...

We wr given the travel fair reimbursement form to fill up..

Interview started sharp at 10 and at 10:20 I was infrnt of them....

It was a cordial panel headed by sardar ji.

Questions started with y I shifted frm engg to banking... Y I left my previous jobs... (3  jobs to be precise)  I think I convinced them with my answers...  Den started the rapid fire....  About current economic scenario.... Npa of banks some points regarding Robin hood budget and jaitleys speech...  Epfo issue.. And fiscal consolidation etc...  I answered... Almost all of them.. Except one...  Which I answered partially...  And they dint even bother to grill me on that....  The lady dint ask any questionq.. Interview lasted for 18 mins approx....

Do let me know how to start preparing for RBI Grade B Exam starting from the scratch. From where to begin, how long it may take if done with sincerity and is any coaching for the same kinda mandatory/ helpful or self studies would suffice ?
