@arunheros Nice analysis. Thanks... btw if you find some study material for MBA entrance (like CONCOR is bound to happen by 17th Feb 2013) please give it to me as well. Thanks...
@mpsaikia Sir, the total is 400 vacancies. Advt clearly mentions 408 vacancies. So, I guess SAIL did 8 = 0 mathematics. By the way, what is status vacancy for MTA discipline - Administration? Please elaborate?
@deepali.patna are yaar mtech wale alag hi breed ke hai unka hisab kaun rakega
if have Hurt the sentiments of other branches, then i apologize just dont put me under 66A
Now if have included others in the analysis then it would become too long and difficult
Also you are elite streams so I left you
Now for your info. other than the core branches mentioned comprises of 19% even with rough estimation you will definetly get in some pSU with that kind of probability behind you
@User.000 HAs concor has MT administration reqiurement as SAIL? i dont know just give me some info about it if can we apply, then related subjects i can go for googling
@arunheros Sir, I would apologize that you are bit late. Both CONCOR and NPCIL had excellent opportunities for MBA operations / materials guys. Unfortunately, apply online is over. NPCIL exam was conducted 2 weeks ago. CONCOR will have exam on 17th Feb 2013. So, sorry but still the best hope remains for unemployed like you and me. 2nd Feb 2013 = apply online for IAS. You can try there.
However, if you had applied to some private organization too, please tell me too. Btw what 10 books have you thoroughly cleared? ty...
@mpsaikia@biswajitjei02 also sc wer called 9 n seats r 4 i hear thy call in ratio 4:1
i agree with the mentioned ratios...in accordance with my personal xperience of chemical engg branch... regarding anomalies in call ratio i wud lyk 2 site an xmple: assume total seats:10 gen:5 call ratio 1:4 so it means dat 40 candidates will be called but IT DOES NOT mean dat 20 gen candidates will be called bcoz sum category candidates qualify in gen category i hope its clear 2 u now
@biswajitjei02 Sir, I guess SAIL has adopted a fixed formula as cutoff. That way, all those who qualified are called. Example: 30 qualified for instrumentation in GEN and 17 in OBC category and SC qualified 9.
Illustration: They might had some criteria like 70% min for GEN with 5% relaxation for OBC in that score. Thus, OBC get = 70% (1 - 5%) = 66.50% approx. Similarly, SC, ST might be having 8% relaxations. They get = 70% (1 - 8%) = 64.40% approx. Now we have cut off for GEN = 70%; OBC = 66.50%; SC / ST = 64.40%. This is just an illustration and actual marks may be different.
@chandni22 Madam, For MTA - FIN, only 1 ST was called for interview. If ratio is 4:1 then vacancy = 0.25. Sounds funny. TRUE. Vacancy can not be 0 since, we all know ST can not be merged with SC or any other category. If Vacancy is 1, then that person is automatically selected provided he gives interview. If vacancy is more than 1, then vacant posts will be carried forward to next year recruitment as per Indian Govt - MHRD norms. []
This is just one of the possibilities. Who knows what is SAIL authority mental condition?
