Location: BKC, Mumbai.
Background: BE (Electronics and telecommunication)
Entered the venue quite early at 10 am. Had breakfast (sandwich and tea). Document verification was very cool. Even if you didn't have anything, they asked to sign the undertaking without much fuss. The staff was co-operative and jovial. We completed it soon. But some morning shift candidates were still waiting for being interviewed, so we had to wait. At 2 pm of the staff members told, they're thinking about skipping the GD part. We are very happy. However, after sometime GD was conducted and topic alloted was "Apart from legislation, what else can we do to eradicate child labour from India?" It was a good topic everyone spoke well and even in the second round it wasn't chaotic. After the GD, panel had their lunch and interviews started soon. I was second to be interviewed and I was out by 4.10 pm.
PI Questions:
As soon as I entered, what would you like to speak in? Hindi or English? I answered anything you like. He said, no the choice is given to you, so you have to choose. I chose English. He said good.
I1:- Tell me about your family background, educational background and future interests.
I answered and said I want to work in finance.
I1:- finance. Okay. What is electron?
I answered and then there was a series of questions based on this like, what is proton and neutron? Who has greater mass? What to they do? If law of attraction exists, why does electron keep revolving and why doesn't it come to the nucleus. What is vector? What are the other forces acting on electron? What are other particles? What is positron? What are god particles?
He stopped asking as I didn't answer the last two.
I2:- Tell me news about SBI. I started about history and branches. He interrupted and said not the trivial historic stuff. I am asking you the latest news from SBI. I answered SBI buddy, SBI in touch and contactless payment cards. He asked to explain contactless payment cards and the technology used. Answered. App similar to SBI buddy? SBI Freedom. Difference?? Idk. Do you know about SBI stocks? Idk. Don't you know SBI has stocks? I know sir, but I don't have any information related to it.
I3: Why is the Indian stock market collapsing?
Due to economic slowdown.
How?
Foreign investors are withdrawing FIIs due to slowdown hence the stock market is collapsing.
Any else reason?
Blabbered Exports and imports.
How? Due to economic slowdown demand has decreased and so the exports.
So, how does it effect share market?

I5:- Most of you talked about poverty alleviation in GD. Name some schemes.
I was blank.
He hinted what is BPL?
For a second I thought he is asking about the electronics company BPL. Soon I realised it was about below poverty line. I said, yes sir it is a poverty alleviation scheme. And explained it.
What about MNREGA?
I fumbled in the full form but I explained the scheme. So, does it provide employment to every unemployed youth or just the ones BPL.
Sorry, idk.
What are microfinance institutions?
Answered and cited example of bandhan.
Do they help to individuals or groups.
They certainly help groups I'm not sure about individuals.
What are SHG?
Self help groups. They're helped by microfinance institutions.

Total candidates :14,I guess ,out of which 1 absent.
Step 1:Biometrics
Step 2: Document verification
Not much of a problem. If one doesn't has a particular certificate,they take undertakings. But two had issues regarding signature match and pics matching. It took a bit time for them.
Step 3:All assembled in a conference hall. We all waited till we were given food coupons. We had lunch.
Step 4: We again assembled in hall. We waited and panelist arrived at about 2:30. 5 members-4 male 1 female. All retired. Introduced themselves and then the rules.
Topics of GD:Is cricket hampering the development of other sports in the country?
Lang allowed: English or Hindi or a mixture of both.
2 mins at first. When all had completed ,then a round of 1 min each. I initiated on both the occasions.
GD was good but they pointed at last that all the three girls in the group were the last to speak.
Step 5:Interview
Took permission to enter the room and greeted them all.
M1(the head):Ok ,so u initiated the GD. Was u all prepared from the very beginning that u would start only?
Me:I negated and explained
M3:But in the round of 1 min too,u were the first.
M1: repeated the same question
Me:I said I wanted to be in the first three but being the 1st wasn't on my mind.
Lady:Was there any advantage of British rule in India?
Me:Yes,many,explained.
L:Challenges of a banker?
Me:explained.
M1:why banking sector?
Me:I explained.
M2:Asked about my previous job in CTS just a bit. Then asked my stream(ECE). Then he asked :what is Handover(answered). Types of handovers?(said two and explained them but couldn't emeber those terms ). He told me those terms.
M3:Reason of decling oil prices in international market.

M3: Why Indian stock markets declining? (Explained)
M4:What are forward and opinions?(Explained,he said u are very close to the answer,just a whisker away)
That concluded my interview. I thanked them. One of them said it was nice talking to u alok... 😉

Never imagined that interviewers and officials can be so down to earth.So helpful and understanding.
Gd topic:-Is industrial growth happening on the expense of agricultural development.
Our group GD went for around 50-60 mins everyone spoke twice,there was no fish market like situation.Officials overlooking the arrangement were quite impressed by our group as everyone gave each other chance to speak without any interruption.
For interview ppl work hard on your cv,whatever u have written on it that is being asked.Interviewer was headed by a retired DMD of SBI,every interviewer is very helpful they will never make u uncomfortable and even if u don't know something they will try to encourage u to speak whatever u know abt it,it happened to me in one question.
Anyways All the Best who have their interview in upcoming days.
You can speak in hindi or english u can even speak hinglish if u want.DMD was so nice he even said that whoever will smile will get 1 marks extra from me and when one guy didn't smiled he asked him jokingly u don't want that 1 marks.
