Me:Something to do with the kind of confidence the team captain and coach gives their players and due to increased youngsters in the playing 11 who are agile and energetic in the field.

I think my GD and interview was quite average now it is upto the Almighty to make sure the deserving candidates get through as SBI PO 2015 All the best guys......

One doubt : - before my interview today , had a chat with an ex IRS officer friend of mine. He was telling me,the interview is all about telling them why they should take you in , the bank board is looking mainly for people who will stay with them for many years,how committed you are to the job etc.
But throughout the interview [ for me,and also 2 people I know from morning 8 am batch ] , they didnt ask a single HR type question like " why do you want to join banking", " why do you want to work with SBI", "where do you see yourself few years later" , " why should we hire you" etc because these are the questions where you can let them actually know that you are interested in working there, so it kinda made me think if they already decided that these candidates aren't worth recruiting for the post or what ?
After interview , HR person said that results will be out by mid oct . Is there any service bond agreement in SBI ???

Panel has 13 members, out of them 12 were from Engg background
Document verification process started at 7:00 AM itself (I was the first to reach and my number was also first), after verification and breakfast by 9:15 am, we were called to GD room and GD started by 9:30
GD Topic: Is Legal system responsible for the NPA's.
After GD, I went straight into interview room (as my number was first)
There were total 5 members (4 M, 1 W),
Questions were like
Q1 Why do guys from North India (Bihar, UP, MP) are more into Govt Jobs (myself from Varanasi), the chairperson added Punjab also to the list.
Q2 One member asked about my take home salary (I work in TCS)
Q3 The obvious question, why Banking sector as you are already in an MNC
Q4 How can You say that Indian Economy is growing ?
I tried to explain him regarding growth in various sectors, but he was firm on how you can say it indicates that economy is growing. Then I tried to explain through GDP and index, but couldn't satisfy 😞
Q5 Asked about the name of 3 countries with which India have maximum trade,
I replied US, China and Russia (not sure about that).
Q6 Explain about BIFR and SICA ... seriously I was 😞
Q7 Economy of Russia and questions regarding US President elections....was feeling like "Uthale re baba..uthale"
Q8 Questions regarding FDI, and which is the latest sector in which FDI has been implemented.
I answered the first one, but in latest sector part..I had no idea. 😞
Q9 Questions regarding the unequal money distribution in the country and steps taken by you to uplift the condition of the BPL
I replied, but panel couldn't satisfy them 😞
Thats all which happened, no questions on hobbies, no questions on banking terms, GK bhi pucha to seedhe US, Russia ka. 😞
So friends I am hopeless about my selections, aisa bakwass interview to aaj tak nahi gaya. Though I kept myself relaxed throughout the interview, but still the hopes are very low.
One thing I should mention, Document verification room me everyone was speaking in Telugu, I mean seriously, you know there are people who may or may not understand it, being a part of such a huge organization, it is expected to atleast inform the candidates in English about the processes. I have immense respect for all the Indian Languages, but atleast use official languages while addressing people in the office.

M1 : Is this your first interview in banking ? [ wonder why he asked like that ]
I mentioned about IDBI last week,he asked where, I said Hyderabad. Then next 4-5 questions all about Hyderabad history, Telangana-Andhra issue.
F : [ Continuing on states issues ] - What are issues between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka ? How can they be resolved? Which are the dams built by Karnataka ? Then asked me about Japanese and Japan industries and cities there as I have cleared Japan Govt's language exam with distinction .
M2 : All about Android,Java, various apps, which all apps I have built , [ I was an Android app developer ] he was asking if I can build an app for him,some requirement he had [ not sure if joking or serious, anyways I said ok sure ]
[ NOW THE BEST PART OF THE INTERVIEW, JUST LOVED IT ]
M3 : U have put tennis in your extra curricular activities, how many tournaments you have played/won ? - gave answer .
Who is your favorite player,and why ? [ HA HA HA, most PUYS here know me on this ]
I said ROGER FEDERER OF COURSE !!!!! And gave reasons for it.
Then he said -> What do you know about Roger Federer,what has he achieved ?
[ In my mind : Lol, seriously are you asking ME, me of all people what Federer has done, fine you asked for it, now bear with me ]
I spoke for some 2 full minutes non stop about him - where and when he was born,his parents,when he turned pro, all grand slams,how many,when were,all major statistics, his wife and 4 kids names too ,lol ... then he said " Stop stop...enough , are you an encyclopedia of him ???" . Then M2 remarked : I think this fellow knows Roger Federer better than Federer himself, if Federer has any doubt on his life/career,he can ask this guy .
Ha ha, I smiled and said "that would be an honour"

M4 : Tell me about disinvestment,which all PSUs govt is dis investing ? Is it good ? What are the pro-s and cons ? Cant they raise capital from other sources , why only this ? Then why BSNL is so much in loss , should govt disinvest in it ,or what it should do to make it profit making ?
That is it , ended . Well honestly, I kinda answered almost all the questions in a clear-confident way, would say it was much much better than IDBI Manipal interview last week, but again , it may end up like Roger Federer's Wimbledon story 😞 only - beat such a tough opponent Andy Murray in semi finals in clinical fashion [ GD-PI] , but lost in the final [ Final score after normalization ] . So ,just shared it, not sure if I will make it to final list, but had a great time there ! Thats it folks !
what might be the final cut off after normalization in sbi po in ST category??last year it was 33.00. wht might be this time any speculation friends??
Okay, so here it goes. It will be a long post.

Time: 11:00 AM
Panel 1.
I started at 8 in the morning for the interview, and Chennai ki traffic ke maa ki 👀 , I reached at 10:30. Anyway, I guess I was the first to reach, so my document verification started at 10:45 itself.
It was smooth as the person doing the document verification was cooperative and cordial. I didn't have few documents, so he made me sign three undertakings. (NOC/Relieving letter from my IT firm + College Degree + Character Certificate, as I had only one from a gazetted officer). So, it was done without any hiccups, apart from the fact that the guy forcefully made me eat biscuits, and that caused hiccups.

We were given coupons for lunch at around 1:15 PM, wahan bhi chawal-sambhar 😡 Thank god, there was curd, nahi to I'd have thrown that lunch on their faces. Chicken was there too, for people who are non-vegetarian. Toh, pet-pooja ke baad, we were asked to assemble in the GD room at 2:15 PM.

The panel (4M + 1 F) came around 2:40 PM and they said the same thing : Don't interrupt and blah blah. One important thing they mentioned was that the total duration of GD will be only 35 minutes, apart from the two minutes given in the beginning to think and jot down the points. In our group 13 candidates were present (5 girls, 8 boys) and 2 were absent (No. 9 and No. 13). I was No. 3.
3 of those were preparing for UPSC, a couple of them were not employed at present, 7 of us (including me) were in IT, and one was working in State Bank of Travancore.
The topic of the GD was : "Discuss the merits and the demerits of India's current foreign policy"
Anyone could start, so a guy started speaking, and then he kept on speaking, I was waiting, so were the others, but he was going on and on and on and on..... After some 4-5 minutes he stopped, and then one girl jumped in. I was the fourth to speak, and I mentioned points like- India's active participation during Nepal and Maldives crises; good relations with the SAARC nations, also, I spoke about lack of India's participation in ISIS-Syria crises, and if India wants a Permanent Seat in the UN Security Council it has to step up. I spoke for less than 2 minutes. Again people started taking too much time. 3 minutes, 4 minutes. As soon as the last girl spoke, 35 minutes were over and we didn't get chance to put forward our points again.
GD ended around 3:30 PM.

As it ended, No. 1 candidate was asked to come for the interview. It was for some 15 minutes, and then the girl who was from Bhopal was asked to come for interview. While she was giving interview, I was made to sit outside the interview room, with a wall in front of me. Gussa charamseema par. Khair. She came out around 4:02 PM, and after 2-3 minutes, I was asked to go inside. So, it started at 4:05 PM.

Someone: Yes, yes, come in.
Me: Good afternoon, Sirs! Good afternoon, ma'am!
Female: Please, sit down.
Me: Thank you, ma'am!
Chairman: So, Govind! You're form Varanasi, hmm! Tell me some regulators in India.
Me: Sir, RBI, for banks. SEBI- Securities and Exchange Board of India for mutual funds and stock market. IRDA for Insurance. PFRDA for Provident fund....err, sorry sir, Pension Fund.
Chairman: Okay, do you know EPFO?
Me: Yes, Sir! Employee Provident Fund Organization.
Chairman: Hmm. Recently they have decided to invest 5% in stock markets. What are you views?
Me: Sir, I actually have mixed feelings about that. But, I'm more in favor of that. As, it is a quick way to make money.
Chairman: But, don't you think there's risk?
Me: Yes, sir! There is. But, I personally am a risk taking person and I think being risk averse makes us vulnerable...blah blah..
Chairman: Okay! Your father is (father's profession) and your mother too. What kind of income they make?
Me: Sir, just enough to make me an engineer. (I don't know if they think it as arrogance and take it negatively. This was the answer that came in my mind)
Chairman: (Pointing towards another male)
M1: Tell me the difference between Banarasi Saree and Kanchivaram Sarees.
Me: Sir, both are Silk Sarees, but the difference is in the work done over them. Banarasi Sarees have more zari and embroidery work.
M1: Okay, and what it the difference between the embroidery of these two?
Me: Sir, the embroidery of Banarasi Sarees are more elaborate.
M1: What is Lead bank? (I heard it as Elite Bank)
Me: Sorry, sir! I didn't get you.
M1: Leeeedddd Bank?
Me: Sir, when RBI gives responsibility to address fund issues to a big bank in an area in case small banks face it. (I was a bit wrong, an understandably, he wasn't convinced)
Female: Tell me Govind, what do you like the most about Chennai?
Me: Ma'am, Filter Coffee.
*everyone started laughing. I was like, itna bhi funny nahi tha*
Chairman: It means, if you get a job in some other place, you'll quit because you won't get Filter Coffee there?
Me: *Pagal ho kya be!?* Obviously no, sir! Once in a while I'd come and then go!
Female: What is the worst thing about Chennai?
Me: Ma'am, traffic! (Told them about today's experience)
*They started talking to themselves, ghar ghar ki kahaani hai traffic* 😭
M2: So, your MP is our Prime Minister Mr Modi, has there been any change?
Me: Yes sir! A lot. The city has become clean, the ghats have become clean, also, we used to get only 14-15 hours of electricity, and now we're getting 18-19 hours.
M2: Good! Good to hear that. When I went, the city was not very clean.
M3: Tell me what is SWAAP?
Me: What, sir!?
M3: Ess Dablu Aaa Peee
Me: Oh, you mean SWAP!? Okay, sir, its actually currency Swap and recently RBI signed one with Sri Lanka. It is basically to address balance of payments issue.
M2: You've mentioned that you can read and write Sanskrit. Why can't you speak?
Me: Sir, because of lack of practice.
M2: Can you tell me any shloka?
Me: Which shloka you want? (😂)
