Guys Can we work in Canada After this....Like what are work prospects there

Ofcourse you can. See my previous posts.
I have Few Question NISHANT which seem answered Even by going through ur earlier posts...

1> what the Work extension status in cananda after doing this program, i mean to say how much visa Canadian Govt general gives you after the finsh of ur course

2 >What is the fees Man......And is there any difference between fees of indian campus and Toronto campus for the whole course..

3> Also whats the prospects of PR In Canada, what are the requirements, i heard they give PR to all MBA guys......

Regards
Atul

Hi Atul -

Thanks for writing-in. However, I would like to direct you to my previous posts on all three queries of yours.

Question 1> Page 2 and 3 of this thread.. I have responded questions on Work Permit posted by Mudit Gupta and few others.

Question 2> Surely the fees is different - 47,000 CAD for India program and 60,0000 approx for Toronto program; Detailed break up has been given by "ccourtis" (Charmaine Courtis - Executive Director of Schulich MBA program) on page 4.

Questions 3> No, pursuing an MBA in Canada does not automatically entitle you for a Permanent Residency (PR); you have to apply for a PR to the Canadian Immigration Counsel (CIC). Its a point-based system, and there are a lot of different parameters that go into your PR application which make up your net point-score - details of the same can be seen at Welcome to Citizenship and Immigration Canada. However, an MBA education brings you under the highly-skilled labor category so you get more points as compared to other applicants.

All 3 questions have been answered in immense detail on these pages, because a lot of students had the same questions earlier too. If you still have further questions to what I've mentioned there, click on the "Quote" button and post your query. This will save time for me, and will also help in better discussion. Hope that helps.

Hi Pradeep -

Is B.Tech your last educational qualification? Do also you have a PG Diploma or a Professional Certification such as CMA, CA, etc after your BTech.. ?

Well write to the Admissions Office at the Schulich School of Business, with your full profile and they should be able to answer this accurately. Minimum Eligibility criteria for application should be something difficult to be flexible on.

Best regards,
Nishant Jain

Hi Nishant,

yah i have a PG diploma & i have secured 70% marks.

But that is thru correspondence from symbiosis Pune.
So does it fulfill the requirement?

Thanks,

Hi Pradeep -

Well honestly I'm not sure if that will fulfill the requirement. Let me write to the concerned authorities and get back to you.

Hi Pradeep,

Apologies for the delay in response.

As advised to me by the Admissions Office, the school does not accept a distance learning diploma, and given your score in the last Full Time education (Btech), unfortunately you do not meet the admission criteria.

Hi Nishant,

I have mentioned the mail contents below , this includes certain queries which I have with reference to my elligibilty for applying to schulich india as well as the Keel Campus Mba Program.

My profile details are as mentioned below.

Work Experience - 4 years in Retail Banking( HDFC BANK ) as a relationship manager.(July 2006-June 2010)

SSC - 82.80% (2001)
HSC-81.33%(2003) (Bcom from NARSEE mONJEE COLLEGE OF COMMERCE AND ECONOMIC)
FYBCOM-55.58%
SYBCOM-50.33%
TYBCOM-72.28% (2006)(N.M.)

Mcom ( Post Graduation)- 51.26% passed in 2009, pursued it while working through mumbai university. (correspondence course)

In extracurriculars- (have completed Visharad ie. graduation in Bharatnatyam, trained in folkdance as well. ).

Was also been promoted at work and secured outstanding rating for 3 out of 4 years at work , last designation at work being Deputy Manager.

According to the website, the keel campus MBA has mentioned requirement of first standing in both Degree and PG , since I donot have a first standing ( ie. first class if I have understood it correctly) am I not elligible for the Keel Campus MBA program .

Also in your reply to one of the posts u have mentioned that Schulich will not accept distance learning diploma, if it is MCOM done through Mumbai University through a corresspondence course would it be accepted, as the curriculum and examination for full time as well as corresspondence MCOM is the same.

Thus let me know which of the two programs am I elligible to apply for.

Request you to please assist me at the earliest.

Tapasya.

Hello Tapasya,

Your profile, when looked-at holistically with your extra-curriculars, looks very encouraging.

However, wrt the eligibility criteria:
  1. The school will look at your grades at the last Full Time Educational Qualification, for which the min. eligibility is 60%. So unfortunately the MCom program, (also because its a Correspondence program), would not be considered.
  2. Eligibility requirements for both Schulich India and Toronto Campus are the same

I'd love to answer any of your questions on Pagalguy itself, no matter how specific they are to your profile. Coz most queries answered are common for a lot of people.. so that benefits people at large. Still, I am available on LinkedIn; you can catch me there.

Hope that helps.

Hi Mohit,

The Fees for the Schulich MBA in India Program is CAD 47,000 in all. Add another CAD 900 per month as your living expenses in Canada. So 9 x 900 = CAD 8100.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Nishant for the info, it is definitely helpful. Just one more question, approximately how much amount should I keep in mind for the entire program (Living + Tuition + Books + Medical Insurance + Misc + ...) as per the feedback from current students or alumni.

Cheers,
Mohit

Hey Mohit,

The costs will be higher in the Keele Campus Toronto Program compared to the India program simply becoz you'lll have 1/2 of the program in India in case of the latter. So I'll tell u the costs per term:

Living = 3600 (900 x 4months)
Books = 400
Medical Insurance = 400
Misc = 500 (can vary largely based on your lifestyle)
You'll spend 4 terms in Toronto in case of Keele Campus
You'll spend 2 terms in Toronto in case of India Program

Tuition = varies from term to term (in lumpsum it's 60k for Keele campus program, 47K for India campus program)

Cheers
