Hello everyone.
Fistly thanks for starting dis thread i was waiting for dis for a long time nw. Me too think dat we all can bell d Cat without coaching given we provide full devotion n perseverance in whatevr we do. :-)


I secured 99.4 percentile without any coaching just self preparation from old CAT materials and mock tests.

Tips?
1>Be regular,even one hour study a day , if it is regular is enough.Studying five hours one day and not studying for next two days is a big no!This is how I studied previously and could secure only 95.6 percentile.
2>Focus on fundamentals rather than looking for deliberately made "tough questions".CAT focuses on fundamentals ,if they are strong you are definitely through.

A piece of advice - while giving an exam never think about the result,just give your best shot and solve as many questions as you can.

I gave 15 Mocks in the year 2011.

A container is filled with mixture of milk and water.The Ratio of milk and water is same.Bobby and Sunny increases the concentration to 60%.Bobby makes it by adding the milk and Sunny makes it by replacing the mixture with milk.What is the percentage of milk added by bobby to that of milk replaced by sunny?
ANSWER:
let total be 200lit
take milk=100lit
water=100lit


let bobby added X litres of milk then (100+x)/200= 60%=>x=50lit
Let sunny replaced the mixture with ylit of milk then,(100-(x/2)+x)/200 =60% =>Y=40lit

The reqired %=x/y *100=50/40*100=125

Buy any basic book Arun sharma or any institute material and start practicing with basics..

Ok!
However i want to enroll in July & the test series is available from now on. Does that mean that I'll miss all the tests conducted till then or does it depend on when a person enrolls?

Even the un-invigilated mocks are available for a limited no: of days once the original date passes!

No if ur talking about CL mocks, well it can be taken at any point of time. I still have about 9 mocks in my homepage waiting to be taken by me

But im planning to start taking the mocks from next month after im done with the basics ( hopefully )

gave cat 2k10.Didnt scored well

Self prepared next along side job training..... only 2 Test series
gave cat 2k11........Cat percentile improved..... but unable to convert my few calls


Again self prep with 3 test series.... scoring good this time in mocks
But this time no more training.... pure job life
fight goes tough.... time for tough to get going....

I'd suggest you to buy Arun sharma for quant and rest of the prep. from TIME.

right i am planning to go for the test series or better to say the aimcats from august, so, i am a bit confused should i take the test series now, and should i solve the sectional when i am doing my basics, or should i cover up the entire basics of all 3 sections full and then go for all levels of sectionals in sectionals of TIME?
and at the same time i believe that even if i miss the invigilated an un invigilated aimcats they will surely appear on the student home page 1 month before cat? am i rite? some 1 do help?

Can anyone please tell me is it better to prepare for quant through online material or arihant's quantum cat I have already solved few topics from that book but had a big break in studies due to my technical training now i am in a big dilemma as to from where to start. Can any one please suggest anything?
