Sentence Correction:
He put the eye drops in the man's eyes who was lying in the bed.

Answer is:
He put the eye drops in the eyes of the man who was lying in the bed.

Please help me to understand why apostrophe s is eliminated here?

I vs me
---------
I is a pronoun that must be the subject of verb

Me is a pronoun that must be the object of the verb

Use I with subjective pronouns like we ,she, you, they

Me with objective pronouns like us,him ,her

The easiest way to decipher the two is to remove the other noun and see if it still makes sense .

for eg :
He told Tom and (I or me?) to get ready.
He told I to get ready? NO
He told me to get ready? YES
Therefore, He told Tom and me to get ready.
If John and (I or me?) get married, we'll have two kids.
If me get married? NO
If I get married? YES
Therefore, If John and I get married, we'll have two kids.
Just between you and (I or me?), this is a bad idea.
Because "between" needs to be followed by a plural, we'll use "we" and "us" to figure this out.
Just between we? NO
Just between us? YES
Just between you and me, this is a bad idea.

He lives...in... Bengaluru...on...115, Richmond road.

u can't live at road...u can live on the road...
living 'at the road' means, kind of ur home is the road itself...i hope u get my point...

IMHO, 115, Richmond road refers to a specific address, and not the whole road, hence it is to be treated different from living on the road.
The apt term should be at 115, Richmond Road.
Please correct me if I am wrong guys.

Sentence Correction:

Answer is:
He put the eye drops in the eyes of the man who was lying in the bed.

Please help me to understand why apostrophe s is eliminated here?

In the first sentence their is a problem with misplaced modifier. The sentence effectively means that the eyes of the man lay on the bed. So we rectify it to the second sentence given. Add to it the fact that an apostrophe followed by an 's' is in most cases where the noun is animate. So the error is not with elimination of apostrophe but with placement of modifiers. Hope you get it
