social media as the name suggests was created to socialize and to contribute to globalization via connecting people from different countries and different backgrounds. in my opinion it is a win win situation both for the users and the provider as by its promise it made to make people all over the world closer. it actually did more than that! Facebook, orkut and many other social media as it turned out gave people the freedom of expression and also helped in raising voice of common people out loud. but a coin has two sides as we know it! in my opinion more than connecting people, it made them addicted. not only it it gave idea of freedom of expressions but also showed its ugly side via spreading cyber net terrorism. this is exactly what happened a few months ago with people of north east of india who were students or working in other parts of the country. in the 21st centuary where everyone has a mobile phone in their pocket does not need more ways to connect people. still it has become a part of lives of a large number youngsters especially. it has become a way to kill time and even waste time. now people are becoming lazy to go outside and meet people per se and chose to connect only by facebook.
@kanika13 Try to put the content in paragraphs or bullet points from next time on . Its easier to read that way .

I dint understand the topic too well but from what i get these are the few comments i would make :
Social Media like Facebook for example may show large number of for something , but we should understand that most of them are made by fake profiles. So if you launch a new product and it get say 1000 likes in its page it doesnt even guarnatee that say 30 actual people have raed abt it which takes away the purpose of makting throgh social media ;
Also some of the people who are in your freinds list will be people you have never seen . does it really serve the purpose of socialising ?

@@kanika13 : i certainly agree with d statement 'social media ' is a much hyped entity than wht it is..social media is basically a collection of several networking sites like facebook,orkut,youtbe,twitter etc...where in people interact with each other..and add content by them selves..lets us consider a few points :
1) IMPACT : when it comes to starting a new movement against sumthing or someone no doubt social media increases the participation of people for d movement..but certainly it fails to provide d impact like say a public meeting or a morcha would do..we hv d eg of IAC movement wer in anna went on a fast at jantar mantar in d presence of thousands of supporters for d janlokpaal bill..so i certainly doubt d impact of d movement if it wer to be conducted online....narendra modi attended more than 80 rallies as a part of its election campaign before d gujrat elections..why he cudnt campaign online???
2)TRUSWORTHINESS: a change can be brought about if it is hundred percent based on truth...impersonation is quite common on fb...wikipedia..can hv its data base edited..by neone browsing thru it...so certainly social media is not to be believed to d fullest...
3)while bringing about 'change' we can soetimes hurt d sentiments of a certain group...misuse of social media is common...recently two girls wer arrested after posting malicious content on fb regarding bal thackeray...a film ' innocence of muslims' was leaked on youtube...and it led to violent attacks on us embassy in syria..and other arab countries...ofcourse d company has d right to allow content on its website ...but it cannot proscribe..people posting on its website...in d first place...
social media is basically a 'purging mechanism' for d common man..to vent out his anger against injustice corruption,etc...it can be used for advertisements..nd networking..but certainly...d 'change' is yet to happen...thru social media...

1)Social media is good. In fact, great. People have their own reasons for this. Major ones being that you get to be in touch with people , talk online , get to know people more , find your long-lost friends,advertising and lot more!2)And also pamper yourself by getting maximum number of likes for your pictures,status updates,check-in's and what not.But then what do you get by these?Fans?

3)It is so very true that Countries esp India has seen a massive change in how people react to imp issues like anna hazare movement ,the delhi rape case,telangana movement n lot more.The main reason being Social media itself.
But not everybody are really bothered.Some do it because everybody is doing it.So what they do is share pictures,change DP,update status thus contributing to our society.
The real change occurs when you get out of your house and participate.By participating i mean try bringing a change in yourself n people around you.
(Trust me,I saw people attending candle light march just to take pictures.)

I guess it needs lot more supervision rather than arresting people for making comments on bandh and silly issues.

4)And the most common problem with social media is privacy.Every month facebook,twitter gets updated with new stuff and you never know -what you thought was confined to a small group of people can now be seen my everybody.
5) Waste of time-Instead can be used in some constructive way by actually working for NGO's,participating in events or write blogs if interested in writing.
Love it or hate it,You wont get people(including me) to stop using it!

You will easily find Public transport since buses ply to Viman nagar. Once you reach Viman nagar taking an auto(wont cost much) or asking people will help.

@VeSuViuS90 Yes GD one of the types of Group Exercise. GE can be any group activity like together preparing an event/a strategy/any game/a group discussion. Basically all these focus on your presence in a group and as an individual. How can you drive the group and be a team leader or a team player as and when needed is what is assessed.

@princekumar0207 @dilipmathew I want to reschedule my GDPI as it is clashing with NMIMS. i will be returning on 15th morning as my GDPI is on 15th only. I will get by tickets on monday...what is the latest time i can apply for the change ?
I have n't taken the printout of gd/pi admit card till now.. Now it showing 403 permission is denied. can something be done about it or i will not be allowed to participate in the gd/pi?
Hi. I have my SIBM-B GEPI won the same day as my NM CDPI. Can my slots be changed? it is currently 15th Feb and it would be great if it could be rescheduled to 17th feb.
