Hello Seniors,

Need some input regarding the Agri-business course..
How is the course and the placement scenario...
My sister has taken snap and expecting around 50-55..
Can she expect a call??
Also is the entire profile ( work-ex/acads ) considered while giving the calls or is it considered in the second stage..

Eagerly awaiting some inputs...

Ok Agri Business.. Well the course is very good.. We are one of very few institutes which offer the course.. The placement scenario is also good.. the batch is doing very well!!!

Regarding Cut offs well last year the cutoff was around the score ur sister is getting.. i am really not sure what the cut offs will be this year..

There is some weightage to previous work ex and acads even in the first stage.. So all i can say is all the best... Hope ur sister gets the call

Any further queries shoot them

Sri
Hello

I am working in a software company and have 16 months work-ex till date. Do I need to show any sort of work-ex document during the gd/pi? If i need to show them, then i can get it only when i resign, and this is what i don't want to do now as u never know what's going to be the result. Is there any other solution to this problem.?

Please help!!!!!!

Thanks

you can get a certificate from ur office which says that u have been working there from a particular date.. That would be enough... U dont need to resign to get such a document.. I did the same thing.. Hope that helps u out!!

I would like to know abt the 2 seats for the Kashmiri people. What was the snap cutoff score last time?

Hi,

Does SIIB mainly focus on international Business?? Do they have any specialization in finance??? becoz i would like to do specialization in finance or operations.
Will SIIB be the right institution to apply to???

Besides CITIbank, i have not seen any finance companies in the placement list..

Also, could someone from SIIB tell me wot was the job profile offered from CITIBank..

Thanxxxxxx.

Hi,

  1. As cut off for this year will be decided after the SNAP result will be out.But as per last year trend......you have better chance of getting a call from SIIB.
  2. Your knowledge of German will be advantage as our curriculum has German language as a very important part.
  3. SIIB has a very mix crowd, it offers admission to students of all backgrounds like engineers, commerce grad., arts, physcology, literature students etc.
Thanks & Regards,

Hi,

Thanks for that.

Another question - could you tell me about the procedure after one gets a call?

What are the GD topics like?
Are there any written assignments? If yes, would you give me a couple of examples? etc.

Well...the course curriculum at SIIB is such that we learn all the subjects
that u wud normally learn at any b-school plus there are a few courses
every semester that cater to the needs of International Business eg. Foriegn trade policy,import-export mgmt etc.

We do have 4 specialisations to choose viz. Marketing,Finance,SCM(Supply chain mgmt) and HR

So u can safely go ahead and apply :)

There are quite a few companies coming to campus for Finance like StanChart,HDFC,Irevna,DE Shaw,Darashaw etc. and the placements are quite good.

As fas as the job profiles are concerned, pls wait for some time before
we come up with the detailed placement report very soon.

Hi Gitanjali,

Once u get short-listed for the next round, you have to appear for GD/PI where there would be 4 parameters for evaluation
1)Written Essay( just 1 page )
2)Group Discussions
3)Group Activity/Group Task
4)Personal Interview

There are specific wieghtages for each round which would be mentioned
in the prospectus

The GDs last year were based on case studies
The topics for the essay were pretty simple like "Challenges facing India" etc.

Normally the ratio of shortlitsed students for GD/PI to the no. of seats
is 10:1...so around 1200 calls were given last year

Feel free to ask any more queries that u have :)

Hello SIIB guys, plz ans my Queries

Nisha

May be the same questions...
Since, the SNAP is over now...& PT came up with answers. What can be the expected cut off for SIIB ?:satisfie:

Well..last year the cut-off was around 76 marks (in the Open category)..
this was a cumulative score after including marks for different parameters
like acads,professional qualification,work-ex etc.
Also... Kindly note that last year the SNAP exam was for 200 marks..
This year the total number of marks has come down to 180..so the cut-offs may be lower this year.. As u know,it would also depend upon the difficulty level of the exam and the no. of applicants vis-a-vis last year's

btw TIME had predicted the cut-offs last fairly accurately last year :)

Cheers !!!

how much emphasis is laid on work-ex?

hi, i am expecting a score of 70 but i dont have a work expirience.currently doing internship.wat chance do i stand to be through the selection procedure?

Hi Nisha,

Its true that SIIB calculates its own score for short-listing candidates
for GD/PI..its calculated on the basis of SNAP score plus additional marks
for different criteria like acads,work-ex,and professional qualifiaction...there are no wieghtages for difft. sections like QA or GK
as far as i know :)

Last year this score was around 76 marks.

For mgmt seats, pls get in touch with the college authorities

As per ur estimated score,u stand a very good chance ..go ahead and apply :)

All the best !

Cheers !!!
