SIIB Admissions 2008 HelpDesk

hii neel i completely agree wid u..
i think eps HR managers need to develop a global perspective...wid tis world becoming a global village!
thats why this seems to be an interesting option.:)
one more thing is the profile of the candidate also taken into consideration alongwith snap score while giving out the GD/PI calls and is the selection procedure two tired or three tired?

Well...the profile is taken into due consideration before giving out GD/PI calls...but the calls are based exclusively on SIIB score...which in turn is calculated from ur SNAP score+Profile...also the second stage consists of a Group discussion, Group Task, Written Communication Test and a Personal Interview...cheers !!

1.Dunno much abt the course content of a rural management course so difficult to compare...for the ABM course at SIIB...well the word "agri" is utmost important...management of businesses which relate to agriculture...fertilisers, wineries, foods and pharmacies...i hope u get the drift...
2.the cutoff for IB and ABM courses are different...ands its not possible to predict cutoffs
3.almost everyone undergoing the ABM course had a degree in food technology, agriculture, horticulture, fishery and the like...although i remember at least one chap frm my batch who was an electrical engnr
4. 50 peeps every batch of ABM

Hi...

Addn to the ans given by nellabh for the query i wud say tht Rural management is a part of Agri- Business Management. Take for e.g. the case of Food processing sector or agri input sector whch wont be covered in rural management. The course details for ABM will shed more light for u. Welcome to SIIB is the link...

The cutoffs for ABM have traditionally been lower but this will change in years to come with more and more importance given to agri sector beyond the traditional agriculture part of it. Even an article in the ET few days ago highlighted the same...

Most of ppl in ABM batch are in someway or the other related to Agri field or Medical and life sciences..

I hope it adds more info..

dear friend....
as of now, there is no individual cut off for each section, but plzz study GK, dont neglect this section completely... it is scoring dear...
secondly, not doing GK in snap will nt affect r gd pi s such...bt snap score has some weightge...
though in siib, gd , pi nd grp task has more weightage...

ppl,

i juz read the notification for SIIB in today`s(29th Ovt) TOI..in the eligiblity criteria, there was a clause stating that a candidate has to do his graduation in only 1 attempt..
also when i checked out snaptest.org and the eligiblility for SIIB was as
"Candidates passing degree examination by part time / correspondence or in one sitting are not eligible."

can anyone plz elaborate on this 1 sitting thingy..does that mean year downs/year gaps during my engg. are not entertained..??

i have seen that cut-off for siib is 68+ last year. is that cut-off from the written test alone or over-all cutoff as some weightage is given to work exp, % in 10, 12, degree, ..

Hello...

First af all all students who have "not" cleared their exam in one siiting are not eligible and not as mentioned by u. I thnk u missed out on "not".

Coming to the point, c i wil take the example of Engineering, Ideally speaking it takes 4 years to complete any engineering course. However, if a student flunkes in various subjects and completes his/her degree in > 4 years thn he is deemed to have completed his degree is more than one sitting. Gap year b/w 12th and ur joining a graduation school is ok...

Rest to be doubly sure i wil check and post again.

Hello.

For the open category, the cut off was arnd 75. This cutoff include weightages for everythng i.e. Ur academic qualifications, the work ex, Extra cirriculars etc. Each of these weightages were in terms of marks for e.g. for every year of work ex u had one mark with and upper limit of 3 or 4...

So there was a possibility tht a score of 68 also wud have fetched a call for GD/PI..

I hope it answers all the queries...

thanx varun.

i have seen somewhere that

1)10 marks will be added to test score if a student has above 60% in 10, 12, engg .
2)10 marks if a student has work exp of more than 2 yrs
3) 5 marks if a student is from engg background.

let me know whether i got the correct information or not

Hello

Wel, i must tel u tht the figures quoted by u are very optimistic... According to u if i say tht the cutoff for GD/PI was 75 last year thn scoring 40 wud be enough to get a call.. Quite optimistic

I dn remember the exact figures bt in terms of work ex, a student got 1 mark for every year of work ex with an upper limit of 4 marks..

Similarly If a candidate is ICWA/CA, he/she gets arnd 3 marks, For an engineer with 80% degree certain marks and so on..

For weightage in any category, the max marks were 4 and not 5 or 10 as mentioned by u...

I hope it answers ur query

Hi...

As far as i understand the eligibility statement, No student completing his/her graduation thru Correspondence or part time is outrightly nt eligible... For others, it has to be completed in one sittn... One cant take a break of one year on the pretext of taking care of family business etc and complete a 3 yr degree in 4 yrs...

I hope it answers the query
