hi.... i am btech (electrical) 2012 passout with 80 % career... i gave GATE & hopefull of getting admission in one of the NIT's after scoring 95 %ile in GATE.... i am at a dilema .... actually i want to be in a corporate sector but most of the NIT's have hardly any placements for mtech guys... so can i join MBA after MTECH ???? will i face any problem during placement time bcoz interviewer will grill me y i was doing mba after mtech ?
option 1) right now i plan to join any NIT's across the country & then i plan to do MBA(power management) from UPES / NPTI after completing my MTECH in power system..... I GUESS that wud open up both academics as well corporate sector oppurtunities
is my decision justified or am i being a fool ???
option 2 )is to drop one more year, stay at home & prepare next year to get into IIT's which have very gud campus placement for mtech thereby loosing one precious year & also there is no gurantee bcoz IIT cutoff goes around 99 %ile in gate ...
please help & guide quickly !!!!

Go for M.Tech. only if u want to get into academics or research as a future. Ither than that, its kinda wastage of ur two years. First get clear on what u want to do in life, think likewat kinda work u want to be doing for the next 20-25 years. Ur answer wud decide whether u shud go for a M.Tech. or a MBA. Dont ride two boats simultaneously, or u will end up in the river.:nono:
All the best 😃
Hello
I am a btech student of 2011 batch. I am in a great problem these days. I am interested in MBA But i thought i would join MBA after 2 years of an IT Experience. Gave CAT 2011, Got pathetic score & tried for off campuses but didn't get any call from any company. No company is recruiting 2011 batch :(
I have already wasted my 1 year and still sitting idle at home. I thought that Infosys, Accenture etc would hire in march but no company came yet :(
My parents are forcing me for coaching from DELHI for MBA. But i am totally confused what should i do right now. Please help guys :(
My friends said try for Banks but i don't like it. Even next exam is in june and will get 3-4 months after that for the final selection. 😞

It truly is a difficult situation for u buddy bcoz companies are really not recruiting 2011 grads now. But see, even if u want to go for MBA and sit for cat '12, u will have a 2yrs gap to explain at the PI and that will kill ur chances at any top bschool. So IMO, the most vital thing for u ryt nw is to try and get into a job anyhow. Try the small companies or if nothign works, then the tutoring centers but dont sit idle. And regarding MBA, if u want to do it ftr 2 yrs experience, it doesnt make sense to join a coaching class now. Think well and decide. ATB 😃
didnt the admission panel ask you what u did in the 1 year gap??
what is the difference betn sap certificate and sap certification??whata the fee details of both?

hi I am a B.E (EnTC). i have 29 months IT exp. SSC: 85%, HSC :80%, B.E: Distinction holder. i want to get into an IIM desperately. targetting CAT 2012. have given CAT before but dint score well enough. I am planning to quit my job (work presently at Wipro) to focus on my MBA studies. i tried balancing my mba prepn with job in 2011, but cdnt focus on studies due to hectic timings. Will this gap of 1 yr be problematic in my MBA admissions? i want to give my very best at CAT. Please guide me.
hi...
I have now 1.5 years of experience in IT, the job now i am almost hating to core.
I have written CAT2011(3rd attempt, though the first attempt with serious preparations) and all other exams last year, but none worked out for me.Felt the pain of losing, since i felt i had given some sincere preparations.Everything turned out to be a huge flop..some calls missed out by a lesser margins..
I am completely stressed and the worst part is the fear lingering in me about my future and also how the next attempt of me in exams will turn out to be? :(
I am in the same situation like u buddy

Buddy....i also have same experience as yours and willing to give CAT again...
But I won't advice you to drop your job for prep.It is very difficult to sit idle in home just for preparation.......and it can be difficult to justify the gap in an interview(in my opinion)as it poses negative view towards interviewer..
I have seen many of my friends who did the same last year but didn't get expected results and now they are searching for job...
I mean, do have a backup before taking this bold decision as also now a days CAT results have become quite unpredictable so u can't be sure of ur results in your favour.....
So, do have good thought before quitting...

With CAT being more and more luck based (read day, slot dependant).. I wont suggest quitting ur job.. U have 29 months exp..give GMAT..try ISB nd other colleges..dont quit ur job..
i am a BE(CS) 2011 graduate ...i want to ask if someone works in his family business (eg jewellery shop or textile shop)what work experience certificate will they show???

Any registered bsns can give a work-ex certificate. It can be a letter on the official letter pad sying "so-and-so has worked with so-and-so from this date to that date. His/Her performance has been satisfactory and his/her moral conduct has been very good. I wish him all the success in future life." with the seal and signature of the proprietor.
What does one do, when one's finished appearing all the exams, and the results are still some time away? Enquired about some courses but all are 3-4 month long. Enrolling for them did not make sense as I was sure that the results would come out in that period, and if positive, the GD/PIs too would be scheduled in that period itself, making the attendance to the chosen course irregular.

pro ... u will be more focused and prepared
cons ... this will be last chance (its really hard to take drop for another year ) so u will have to do MBA from which ever college u got.. cat being some what luck based u cant simply relay on hard work ...
so think for quitting job only if this is ur last chance and u have to do mba only
hey puys i am new to dis forum need an advice, feel myself in deep trouple and double minded 2.
i am a BTech CSE 2011 passout.gave cat in 2010 got a decent score but wanted more so gave again in 2011.but i screwed it in 2011 because of a girll obviously and life too started to screw me.
got placed in pune but didnt went there as i wanted to stay at home and prepare for cat once more.getting a job offcampus is not so easy especially in NCR where u hav limited opportunities.
i got some small jobs like SEO which were completely out of my interest and salary was too less so didn't join it either.
now still i havent joined any where till yet and its a year gap now.
so what u puys wud suggest me to go for cat full heartedly but it will be a long gap which i have to prove them or look for a job, gain some experience or can i join some tech support and do some certifications????
or should i enter the marketting field as a management trainee or analyst????
getting bored man sitting idle.its to difficult not to do anything........
help me out seniors.......thanks
