Any help ...What you guys would do in this kinda situation ????
I agree Trading is an uncertain job . Thats what make trading special But as you trade , you should have got found the magic of making money irrespective of the markets . If you can make 50k in bear market , there is no reason you will make more money in coming years . Dont worry about the external environment. If you like trading , stick to it - Not because it gives you 70k or 50k every month but you love doing it . That's what you need at the end of the day .
Bank jobs are good option as you would have known few financial terms while trading and will be easy to work with at least at the entry level . Try writing few bank clerk/PO exams . Even if you don't get through , remember that you are doing something which you love and earning decent amount out of it .. So be happy ..
I need a advice ...I finished BE ( computer science ) with 62% in 2009 but actually completed it in 2011 due to backlogs ...so i had a 2 year gap in between and now its 2012 ...in this gap i learned to trade, ( Technical analysis ) and now i am getting Rs 70000 + per month from trading , with some efforts i am sure i can get 1 Lakh pm soon ( but minimum amount is Rs 50000 pm ) ..but the thing is , my Mom and Dad both are retired and i have a Younger Bro who is studying college ..and in some 3-4 years i like to get married ..
But , the thing is , as you all know Trading is not permanent and also when getting married or like that thing , when someone asks , i dont think saying Trading would be nice and also many Dad's wont be OK to give a girl to someone who is in this business ...So i thought of going to a job and do trading side by side ..but who will give a job to a guy who has nearly 3 years gap ...??? and also who does a job not relevant to the field ??? ( My friend is working in HCL BPO , support job , he told he can get a job there , but it has night shifts and day shifts rotation , and the salary is Rs 15000 pm , but he also told , after working in a support job its difficult to move to a IT job) and also it would be difficult to trade if i go to this job , coz , he has said me , its more than 8-10 hours job and there will be time just to sleep and relax ...
I know some web designing , maybe i can get a job in some company as a Web designer , but again , i would be getting a maybe Rs 10000 as starting salary and getting to a Rs 20000 pm range would nearly take definitely at least 1 or more year .. But , i can surely get that 4 months salary in a Month in Trading...so i am confused now whether to go to a job or stick with trading , i am also preparing for Bank and Govt jobs ...but onething for sure , if i get a bank or govt job , i would definitely go to that and side by side i would do this trading as its a 9-5 job and trading is from 10 AM to 11 PM and also i can take leave a month and do this ...but the same cannot be done with a IT job ...so i am bit confused....Any help ...What you guys would do in this kinda situation ????
I would suggest you to try investing some money in small business where you get enough time for your trading as well as your business. That way, you can do what you love and show people that you are doing some productive business as well.( and earn a decent money too).

Though i am preparing for CAT, but i am concentrating more on SNAP as my target SIMS, Pune (being an army kid + its in my budget). So can anybody tell me how to score 100+ in SNAP? i mean how should i start preparing? Also i need to know how to make verbal part strong (CAT)?
Hi ... I am working in IT sector since last Two and half years. But i am in IT operations , which include shifts ( including Night shifts) . The life is very hectic and i just can't focus on prep . I was wondering whether it is a good idea to quit now and atleast perpare 3-4 month with whole-heartedly . Many of the people are saying , in fact most of them , that quitting is an bad option . But this is my last chance and i am quite certain i will not attempt any further . So is it a good idea to quit and perpare for CAT for 3-4 months . I can later (after Nov) try for and join a job . Please help me ... I am under extreme dilemm:banghead:

Quitting is definitely a bad idea ..Continue with the job for the moment . Try to put in maximum efforts during weekend time .. I am sure that 12-15 hours of solid prep a week is good enough to score decent percentile . So focus on prep whenever you get time . Dont stress too much .. Cat is not that tough these days to stress so much but at the same , put in your sincere efforts whenever you find time
I Took a break after my 12 exams to prepare for engineering entrances.DAMN!! I still regret it. I don't know what I prepared for. I did very very bad at those exams and got into not-so-good private engineering college.
Appeared for CAT'11 (with out any preparations ) during final year of engineering and scored 80% percentile . Now that, I have a chance of joining an average B-school.
Should I go for it or target CAT'12 ( have nt started preparations yet ) or go for job?? So many options and no answers ... . .. .

You should not quit your job. Take a leave without pay for 2 months and till then continue studying while going to office if you can. Do not quit your job, for some days just take leave example medical leave and then apply for a long leave without pay say for 2 months or more. Hope that helps.

If you're passionate about MBA and particular that you want to do it from one of the top 40-50 institutes in the country, then I would suggest attempting CAT again, this year or next year. If you got 80%tile in 1st attempt you can prepare better and easily score a 90-95 (or maybe a 97-98+ also) next time and get into much better institutes. For CAT '12 you still have time to prepare. 3 more months to go, which is good time, provided you put in 100% effort and maximum time for preparation. Else you can join job and attempt next year also, in which case you'll have to manage job and CAT prep together. You have to understand yourself first, know if you can do that and have all it takes to manage both.
hey guyz, can anyone tell me how to join a NGO?(i know it's a stpd questn...)
Its not joining an NGO (although people here say it like that) like an employee or anything. Its about contributing and serving to promote the cause that an NGO works for. You can identify NGO's based on what they operate for like against child labor, right to education for children, offering basic amenities, woman empowerment, helping blind people, environment protection etc. and then contribute by taking part in the activities they do to promote the cause and make right what they feel is wrong. You can check the website for concerned NGo or visit them in person and find out how you can contribute.

Cat prep is more than enough for snap .
In addition to it , Go through the newspaper regularly to keep you updated on current affairs .
@[495172:akshay2005] Dude you blindly copy pasted simultaneously in all the 3 threads I suggested, without even checking the relevance of thread and its suitability for your query!! Just what I was saying not to do in the separate thread you created for this!!
I have completed my B.Tech in 2012 in computer science stream with 67% from a private engineering and i didn't get placed in campus recruitment due to recession or may be other reason good companies didn't came in our college...
Now i am confused what should i do now,as i am having plenty of options...Sometimes i think to join a coaching institute for CAT 2012 or may be some institute for GATE 2012 or should i go to some metro cities like Bangalore, Pune or Chennai to search for jobs.Anyone having experience of searching jobs in off campus in these metro cities..how easy is it to search the jobs and what procedure should be followed...
Also is it useful to do some certification course such as SAP certification or some networking one such as CCNA,CCNP etc..will i get a good job after these certifications...or should opt for mba coaching and searche for jobs in metro cities..I have also given elimus exam in which i scored 78 percentile but didn't got any interview calls...should i give elitmus one more time..what should i do now...all my siblings and friends are passed out from IITs and other reputed institutions and are now working in big companies...i feel myself inferior in comparison to them..though i never compare myself with others but somewhere, somehow everyone does this and it hurts me...i also tried for mba last year and got admission in IBS,Pune but didn't go there, thinking that will do MBA from more reputed college in future...Now please help me puys what should i do now search for jobs/any certification like SAP or CCNA,CCNP/coaching for CAT and other bank PO exams...I am getting frustrated...Plz help me puys......
Hello... I have had a problem in the past and would like to take the advice of all the seniors who may have any solutions about the problem. Due to a clash in interests, I have unfortunately had a gap of three years after my 12th grade. This was because my parents wanted me to become a doctor ( On their insistence I took a year gap to prepare for medical entrance exams ) . Later I actually entered a medical college too , but as expected I did not like it in the least. It took me two years to convince them that I don't want to become a doctor and wanted to do something else in my life. Something related to business. However they agreed in the end and let me drop out of the medical school. My parents are doctors and my little sister will also become a doctor in 6 months. I took up Economics later and finished a B.A. and stood first in my college and 5th rank in my University. Right now I am working and am a bit confused as to whether this big of a year gap will allow me to get admission in the best of the colleges. Can anyone help me out with this ? Would scoring very well in the CAT be enough to cover up for so much gap ? I am a bit skeptical about Indian Business schools. Can anyone tell me if IIM-A,B,C would take a student with so much educational gap in his/her career ? I want to do an MBA . If not in India I will try to do it abroad where MBA is a good mid-career option for people who are working. However my first preference is India as its relatively cheaper to do an IIM here. All opinions and suggestions from what you all have heard or know or have experienced are most welcome.
hey puys , i have been giving CAT from last two years but scored really pathetic scores (less than 50%tile) both times. :( i completed my graduation (BBA) in 2011 and dropped a year for CAT 2011 but same again scored really bad. and now i am really confused what to do with my career as i feel its really too late to join coaching for CAT2012 and i really tried hard to get a decent job but all offers i get is from BPO(as i am fresher ) which is not at all worth as its useless to work (kind of unskilled job) , i believe, i wont learn anything their. now really feel like a looser.... 😞 don't know what to do next ... please give some suggestions... thanx
Hi guys i am Ashish.I will be completing my B.E in electronics and telecomm stream this august from a average private college in Pune(probably with 62% aggregate).I got placed in infosys but my joining date is 18 june 2013.There is almost a year left.I am not interested in higher studies right now.I don't want to waste my 1 year sitting idle. I have planned to move back to Pune.I am very much interested in govt jobs like Bank P.O and staff selection .So i have decided to prepare for these exams from some coaching institute and take some certification courses like Java,Sql.At the same time i am thinking of getting a job.But still i am not sure whether i am doing the right thing bcoz:
1.Is finding a job offcampus easy?I don't know anything about this other than uploading your resumes on job sites and giving Elitmus test.ANY OTHER SUGGESTION FROM YOUR SIDE.
2.IBPS bank P.o exams and ssc exams will be held next june.even if i crack these exams next year. The interview dates will fall within my bond period at infosys and i won't be able to join these jobs(fine for breaking the bond is too large).
Can i prepare for these exams while i am in infosys(after completing my bond period). How to manage time (I've heard that IT jobs are too hectic).ANY OTHER SUGGESTION.
3. IS THIS THE BEST POSSIBLE WAY TO UTILIZE MY IDLE TIME.PLZZZ HELP .i am not able to concentrate on the two upcoming exams of Hindustan petroleum and Coal india limited because the thought of sitting idle for 1 year is eating me.
hello,I have given CAT last year (2011-last year of my graduation) 87 percentile, couldn't get a good college.Iam reappearing in 2012.
what I want to ask is the I am done with my graduation. Iam NOT working.People have told me that you shouldnt be sitting idle (it gives negative points during interview) So a counselor suggested me to do a one year PG diploma in Financial Planning along with CAT preparation.
Will it be helpful?will it be good utilization of one year and something good to talk about during CAT interviews? Please suggest or should I go for an internship with a NGO (which was my plan ) will be of any worth from the point of view of CAT interviews
I completed my B.E ECE in the year 2010... and it did not get a job... and I needed a job due to some financial constraints... I have been suffering from lot of health problems from my early life.... Two years before I was affected with Rheumatic fever and Arthritis... I took a lot of leave in my company... and some how I managed to stay in the job.... Days.. passed as I just doing a routine work, taking medicines till now and have to for years ahead , going to hospitals... etc.... did not think of my career... I am not interested in the job I am doing... I feel under rated , looked down upon in my job.... Bad Appraisal... So I planned of taking CAT 2012.... Joined classes... 3 months before But my dad fell very Ill and had a surgery.... So I was not able to attend classes on weekends as I have to go to my home town...... I want to go ahead in my career. I I feel like I need to work in a field like consulting as I feel I can do it better... I have to prepare for CAT 2012... Very little time left...But I am weak in Aptitude. Many have told me CAT is not for you, as you cant clear many IT company Apps.... l I cant think of a MBA outside India as lot of money had been spent for my father Surgery.... I am good at public speaking.... I hope MBA would be good for my career.. My parents are not allowing me to quit my job to prepare for MBA.... I am very much confused and upset.... Lot of problems... Can anyone please guide me..... Can I crack CAT this time ..... Try to get 80+ percentile????? Is it possible..... Please someone guide me at this point... I am stuck......
@[525436:juvenal] There is no secret of success in life. You just can't give up at any point. I can understand its really bad time you going through. But this will pass away. Just try to keep your mental focus on CAT. Study subjects you feel you are best at. Target 95 percentile and work on that. Fill forms of tier 2 bschools and you will make it for sure. All the best.
