SP jain calls out

Hi ppl......

Well I got a SPJ call as well.....was probably in the first list....the vitalstats are as follows -

Course - IM
CAT overall percentile - 96 (Q - 95.7, VA - 89.5, DI - 90.2)
Work-Ex - 34 months+ in IT
GD/PI Date - Feb. 5

Anyone else with the same GD/PI date ?

How did u get the GD/PI date?
Are you referring to your preferred dates for the GD?
Also junta, Plz tell me when is the last date before which we have to give our preferences...

first time I got a call. but I blame my thick headedness for the reject..
second time.. i didnt get a call even.. guess i didnt work enough on the essays...
chalo.. keep the faith.. ( when one doesnnt hv anything else.. u dont want to give up on faith too.. does one ??? )

definitely keep faith dude....i took a look at the thread for Lowest %iles which fetched calls and think anything is possible....

its a wild wild world that we are in 😁 ...ATB...

Also junta, Plz tell me when is the last date before which we have to give our preferences...

The mail that SPJ has sent clearly states that one can go to their site and select a date from the given options (there was no attachment in the mail). Thats precisely what I did. The moment you submit the page after specifying the 2 dates/options a confirmation page opens up showing the date and time for ur GD/PI.

This was the case till today morning 10 am at least. After that it might have changed (as ppl here were saying sth about the site under construction msg etc.)

At last the long wait has come to an end...or so it seems 😁 😁 😁
Yes!! new year did bring me a sweet sweet present this evening in the form of a SP Jain Call..I am so happy !! all ready to get sloshed tonite !! Well after the CAT debacle and no calls from SP Jain till today i had almost broken into tears today after talking to one of my close friends but then life has this weird weird way of surprising you when u least expect it..
Partying apart,here is my profile ..
Xth:94%
XIIth:86%
Btech grad from IIT KGP ( 2003)
Work ex: 1year 6 months
CAT %ile:98.25(overall) no calls from IIMs
SPJain first choice: Finance

Well thats it ..
BTW, i got no attachment along with the mail from varsha parab..and also the online link provided doesn't seem to work...I wonder how i am gonna choose my interview dates
Ne of u guys facing a similar dilemma??
I just hope the link is back and up ASAP ..I am so eager to register for the interviews..
guys ne idea wats the last date for submitting the interview dates??

Hello People,
Got a call from SP for mrktg specialisation. Was like a welcome gift for starting this year off!! 😁
CAT scores (though i feel this is not a priority as far as SP is concerned) is 96.4% overall with 97.8 VA, 95.8 QA and 48.8 DA...
This is actually my third call from SP jain (had calls in 01,03 and now in 04). Would hopefully want to convert it this time arnd :-)
Total work ex as of now is 3 years in IT.
Having put this info across, there are some points that I personally feel are a characteristic of SP JAIN. (Note: These are just my points of view ...)
1. I feel they give a significant weightage to the essays. I feel each question has been carefully selected and gives a picture of your entire personality (whether that is your intention or not ). So being honest is very crucial.. I have seen people getting stuck up in the interviews when they have not written the truth and have not been selected in the 2nd round...believe me they are very smart in noticing such things!!
2. Their final selection is based on a cumulative weightage of all parameters (which is anyway put up on the website) and CAT score is just one of their numerous parameters.

have the mails arrived just now or you have checked just now sinmce morning.
Just wanted to confirm that if the mails are still coming or they had come in the morn only.

if u read the mail, it is explicitly written tht the attachment wud b sent along with courier... so they wud b sending all the call fetchers call letter & form thru courier. (nothing is there in the email buddy.)

but then i read the mail sent to me again. Here you guys can also read it:

We are pleased to inform you that you have been short listed for the
Interview process of the PGDM Course (Academic Year 2005 - 2007) for the

So, i gather that initially they had done a typo in the mail template , which was later corrected when they started receiving queries from worried candidates regarding the missing attachment.

And that solves the ' Case of the Missing Attachment'

hey ppl - worrying factor....i had NOT submitted my choice of dates till tonite....but now i see a mail in my inbox from varsha Parab informing me of my interview date and time... i had NOT disclosed my App Id to anyone nor did I post it here ....What could have happened??
As it happens that date is exactly what i wanted but the time is toooo early.... I think i will call up and confirm

since you were late in submitting your choice, most of the interview slots could have been taken up, and so they gave you whichever date was available...purely my thoughts

hi walkin flame.. i chose my dates yday.. the time was alloted by them.. as a matter of fact when i submitted my choice the site said under construction but i recievd a amil almost immediately confirming my date n time.. i spoke to sp admssn office they said u cud even call up n confirm ur datesor email them ur choice of dates..

Can somebody please give the range of dates from which we have to choose?? I rcvd the email yday but the site is under construction since and hence have not been able to select any date. really need to select something on a Sat/Sun bcos I won't get leave on other days.

BTW, here is my profile: (I have opted for marketing)
10th - 88.2%
12th - 85.6%
BE (Computer Science) - 79.6%
CAT -- VA - 99.75 QA - 80.16 DI - 94.5 Overall - 98.92%ile
Workex - 7 months at a reputed MNC.
Essays - None exceeded 90 words and of course, I felt they were pretty decent. Most were copy/paste frm last yrs appln and since I got a call last year, I assumed the essays would fetch one this year too.
Submitted the appln online.

Also can the Bangalore junta get together for some mock PI sessons?? And if some of us could travel together..hate travelling alone!!
