Congrats, Dont worry dude. your scores are pretty decent compared to some other persons who have got calls. SPJ is known to have comparatively less weightage on CAT score. They go for profile. So dont worry about low VA score. All the best
Chillax! No second list is out! Just talked to a friend at SP! The new mails coming in are just an addition of about 100 ppl to the earlier list! The website is under construction becoz they are adding security features so that no one else can fill in the interview dates for someone with a call. So please don reach conclusions and cause anxiety all around!

i think its gonna be like this.. but its plain guesstimate..
Say for a total of 100 * Acads - 10 * Work ex -10 ( If no work ex, I think Acads will be made 15 and 5 points will spill over to either interview or internship or cat score) * Essays - 30
So based on 50, may be 35 is the cutoff and the calls are given. The candidate takes these marks out of 50 with in to the next round.. I dont think they see the cat score for the call.
During the Interview and onwards. * Cat score - 15 ( with a cutoff level of may be 65 %ile) * Interview - I round - 25 * Second Round and Psycometry - 10
So out of 100, I think they take the top 30-40 (as per the seats) for each stream !..

Is your estimate of the CAT cutoff(65%ile) based on previous years' call patterns or r u also considering the fact that only 90+%iles seem to have got the calls?? I dont remember anyone on this forum at least getting a call with a 70 odd %ile this year.....
I got an 88%ile and dont have any hopes of making it....maybe u'll have to revise that cutoff to something higher....

Guys, Had received a mail from spjain intimating that I have been shortlisted. See, I didn't receive the call when the first list was released. So i presume that I have got thro in the second list. NOT EXPLICITLY STATED SO BY SPJAIN.
Had applied online, and just 1 day prior to the deadline. My profile,
VA, Q, DI : : 89+, 91+, 99+. Overall : 97.54
Work Ex- 27 months and counting (telecom sector)
1st Pref - Operations mgmt 2nd - IM . Got the call for what they now call the Manufacturing mgmt.
Barracuda.. as I mentioned.. a) its my guesstimate.. just speculation. b) I seriously believe that SPJain.. knowing fully well their culture etc. will not see cat scores for the first round of calls.. Cat score might not be an elimination/ rejection criteria.. c) So, someone with good acads.. ( i dont mean mediocre).. good insti.. some work ex.. good essays ( honest ones.. )... should get a call.. d)Even someone with 65% ( which I believe should be a rock bottom.. and anybody who has other criteria.. as in c) above.. would hv got 65%..
BTW... I have 99.34 overall.. 3+yr work ex.. core.. applied for OP.. Rec surathkal.. top 10%.. and hvnt got a call in the first round.. just keeping my fingers crossed.. hv been rejected for the past 2 yrs by sp.. hope to be third time lucky !!!..

Work Ex-41 months... Sales and mktg exp with a fortune 500 MNC....... First pref:mktg second:finance
As for the essays.. i really delved deep to find the answers..hoping that they like it...
can't make a pattern of the calls being issued till now... well, i for one, always thoght that quality work-ex does play a good role in the selection... still keeping my hopes alive..... Do they have a lower cut-off for the %-ages in engg or what??
really want to get back to working studying..hv worked enough to know what "strategy" means......

Sure Krain... missed tht in frenzy... Xth : 81% (ICSE) XIIth : 76% (ISC) BE (Mech) from NIT, Surat with 66% (thts Disti but all in all a low one 😞 ) WorkEx - 27 mths (till december) in a good IT firm. Role : worked both as Coder & as project Lead 1st Choice: IM / 2nd Choice: FM
As far as essays go, i have written pretty decent ones (but thn thts the case with everyone) I'm also involved in the "Touching Lives" initiative here at PG (have mentioned tht in my form)... i think this is a big + in my application. I'm also running in Mumbai Marathon on 16th Jan for the same (chk runner no. 7 at http://www.pagalguy.com/content/view/32/1/ )... So u people can always sponsor me & help the needy & quote the same during interview / in next yrs app-form. And believe me it works... Think abt it !!!
Just recieved this mail from Varsha at 3:20 PM today. i chked the site in the morning & was quite disheartened not to see my name overthere... & now anxiety is hanging high in the air...

Guys Got the send call after IIMK 😁 . Filled in the form Online and submitted it after the actual date was over.Opted for IM. 2. 5 yrs work ex after BTech from IIT Kgp... 98.75 %le. With DI and Eng sections above just 90% . Quant(98.5%). But have to Go to Bombay .. and thats the worst part of all..

if u read the mail, it is explicitly written tht the attachment wud b sent along with courier... so they wud b sending all the call fetchers call letter & form thru courier. (nothing is there in the email buddy.)

first time I got a call. but I blame my thick headedness for the reject.. second time.. i didnt get a call even.. guess i didnt work enough on the essays... chalo.. keep the faith.. ( when one doesnnt hv anything else.. u dont want to give up on faith too.. does one ??? )
