Hv u confirm ur seat by paying there 1st installemnt fees, if yes how did u manage, from bank loan or personal.Because i am facing problem for bank loan as they required that the institute muts be A.I.C.T.E approved, and unfortunately SIOM is not. Kindly through some light on it.

Hi ,SOrry for the very late reply,now my reply doesnt help i realise, i have taken loan from syndicate bank, manipal and they have good opinion about symbiosis, no questions regarding AICTE approval stuff asked, me travelled by bus from udupi on 26th evening and payed fees at Nashik on 27th at 4pm and then immediately bolted from the scene to catch a bus. i got a bus at Pune 11.30 midnight to Bangalore,a volvo bus but without proper suspension , saturday and sunday roamed all over bangalore to do some shopping for my sisters marriage and back to manipal sunday night travelling in the last seat again on a bus minus its suspension,so the past 5 days were veryhectic spent mostly on buses, yet very enjoyable, looking for more adventures,

Just compare the colleges like(Weli--No offences meant) whiach hav only 8 hrs of classromm session n after tht people move to Hostels/PG etc n here we r going to sleep 4 just 5 hrs a day---so learning is 19 hrs a Day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today i received a letter from SIOM mentioning that we all have to report to the college on June 5th 2006 Monday.
Rooms would be alotted that day itself.
Next day June 6th Tuesday would be the day to complete formalities w.r.t id cards and blazer stuff.
June 7th Wedmesday would be the official day of commencement of lectures.
And freinds know what June 3rd 2006 is my 25th brithday.

Maharashtra to bring Ordinance for reservation in colleges
Mumbai, May 10: The Maharashtra government today decided to bring an Ordinance for the reservation of seats for backward sections in the unaided professional colleges across the state. The government will bring a Bill in July for the implementation of the quotas in the educational institutes.
The Government in Maharashtra has decided in favour of 50 per cent reservation of seats for backward sections of society in professional colleges.
People in the categories of Schedule Castes, Schedule Tribes and Other Backward Class will qualify for the quota. Till now, the quota was valid only in government and government-aided institutions.

The Government order is yet not clear. The media too has just thrown an incomplete piece of information to the JUNTA to grapple with.
As far as Maharashtra goes :
=> Engineering admission begin in August
=> Medical admission begin in August
=> JBIMS , Welingkar , MET , KJS etc that come under CET will commence admission in July.
=> NMIMS , SIBM , SIEC are deemed univ hence bailed out as per todays press release
95 % of the B-Schools have already done with their admissions.
The thing for sure is that Engg and Med admission would be governmend by the new ordinance. However no clairty on Professional courses offered by B-Schools.
If the ordinance issues means that 50% reservation be done in Institutes like Symbi , SPJIMR, NITIE etc then the best logical way out is to add the extra seats required for the SC/ST/OBC.
However it is still not clear as to Government what the Government meant by Vocation Courses at all Private Institutions.
Vocational Courses are Certificate/Diploma courses in Technology etc by which a candidate is still industry ready for low end job.
The government cannnot take the risk of displeasing the Open Category if the repercussion of this ordinance would mean kickbacks.
I am sure the Government is gonna please both the sides.
It wud be good if the ordinance is enforced for the next admission or there should be an Increase in the number of seats to accomodate SC/ST/OBC in case the ordinance is applied to non-deemed univ.
Lets see , things will get clear by tomorrow.

The news is that , my guess is true.
The ordinance will affect Engg Medical and Vocational stuff.
All B-Schools having govt quota and admitting students thru CET Maharashtra will have to abide by the new ordinance.
So at this moment the news is positive.

well to answer to pagfrmdelhi regarding nashik climate: friends nashik has extreem climatic conditions. i mean in wintter it is too cold such tat it may reach less than 18-20 degrees where as in summers it is too hot such tat u never like to come out in day time its not over, in rainy days it always rains. may be in the month of july it starts raining and some times it keeps raining for 2-3 days almost continuously so i advice u to bring wind shutters or raincoats and a good kambali to cover.
there is no need to create yahoo groups now itself as it will be done from the college side later.
well keep this thread live like this. c u all in campus soon

the decission to implement 50 % reservation that has been ruled in maharashtra clearly states that the impact would be froim the next acadmic year coz lets not forget a few of the b schools have already started there classes and moreover even if the rule is enforced in siom lets nort forget that every1 have already started gettin there confirmation letters so if enforced then v r bound to see a rise in the intake of our institute !!!!

Once I went to Mumbai on 31st Dec, Temp in Delhi was around 3-4 n in Mumbai it was 18-20, so I had to fold my shirt's sleeves,poured some cold water over my head, as My shirt got wet due to sweat then ............... I saw a group of Young boys at Railway station wearing Monkey caps and
