no i think what hes trying to say is that the top 100 in the waitlist will probably get their waitlist number tom and the rest have to keep waiting for further updates....
p.s: this is what "I" understood from his statement...though i wish this aint true...as I am waitlisted myself.
I hope TAPMI does not play games with us like IMT-G is doing.. holding back waitlist numbers....

Just called up TAPMI office and talked to Prof. Sudeep, I thought of sharing this info with you all.. He told me that the waitlist is not only for PGDM course but for all the courses altogether. And he said this is because the other candidates who had opted for other courses shouldn't feel rejected. And.... to let you know all, the number of waitlisted candidates for PGDM are just 240.. and not 900 or 750 or whatever was specualted earlier 
I hope this is the truth... lets one of us call once more and confirm.
And they are going to get another waitlist by tomorrow after the confirmation from all selected candidates.
PS:I am really flattered by the gentle way in which Prof answered all my querries. I think it will be a great experience in TAPMI

Me - Sir When shall we get our waitlist no or when will the next activity happen?
Mr. Sudeep - You will come to know abt it tomorrow, as we have given time till today for the selected candidates to pay their fees.
Me - So till now how many candidates are given status as selected 120 or 180 for PGDM?
Mr. Sudeep - 120 only
Me - Can you give me a rough no, of how many students are in the waiting list status for PGDM?
Mr. Sudeep - 240
Me - So currently if my status is showing that I am on the waiting list then does it mean that I am amongst those 240 students wait listed for PGDM?

Me - Sir, any news on AICTE approval of the new courses?
Mr. Sudeep - As of now we havn't got any clearance from AICTE and thats why we are holding back results of those courses.
Me - Sir, I also heard that if TAPMI doesnt get the AICTE approval for those courses then you are planning to start those courses under Manipal university.

somebody clarify that w8list is for PGDM or for both the courses.If its for PGDM then its god news for all the guys since it means high probability to get into new courses.If its for combined then its really heartening.
PS: I am in the same boat as others(w8list)
sudip kar Saysi too called the admission office just now..they told me that by tmrrw we will get 2 knw our w8list status and by wed the picture will be clear..he also tld that the w8list no. is huge bcoz itz combined...bt for pgdm its not so huge...and also tld that if i m w8listed fr pgdm then its only fr pgdm...

Even I called Mr. Sudeep and he said that tommorow offer letters will be dispatched to newly selected students and then we can also see these details on website by day aftr tommorow...
I would suggest that ppl should call him themselves and get their queries solved.

If there are only 240 waitlisted people for pgdm,how come every waitlisted guy has the same..'waitlisted for pgdm' message?can it be the case that in spite of having the above status,i might not be in the waitist for pgdm?
so it means people w8listed for all the courses is being displayed but the message which is displayed is not right.and regarding no. of w8list people i guess are more than 240 for sure.
Its showing w8 list for all irrespective of the course for which they have applied.
Just the message displayed is wrong..(Its my interpretation purely)

Guys,i called up sudeep sir again..he told me that people who have even ticked for ib,bfs or hcm as their 1st choice are shortlisted for pgdm.although their waitlist number could b on the higher side,he also said that the info about 240 people waitlisted for pgdm was wrong..tomorrow,they wud b sending offer letters to candidates who have converted from the waitlist,and the status of waitlist wud be available on the website on wednesday..although u can call them up tomoro for the same
