Tas 2010

Finally the D-Day has arrived all the best guyz:)

Hi guys

Good to know you guys have kept this alive.

congrats to all those who made it to last rounds. your reply's and post have really helped future aspirants :clap::clap:

For all those who did not make it like me.. we will meet next year and compete here..

All the best for those who will be in final round. hope to see more names in this years TAS 2010

TAS saga has ended.....

6 guyz have made it to TAS .....

Congratulations to those who have made it and heartiest congratulations to those who didn't made it like me as they would have learned a lot as a not so favourable experience teaches more than a favourable one

Time to close this thread i believe...

As for me, i did a serious introspection of what went wrong; almost replaying the entire cgd many times over...and didnt really get to the possible reason...thought had performed well...and should have got to the Case round..anywayz no point in saying that!

The feedback received from TAS office didnt help either. Its a one liner- very generic and at a high level...on checking with my friends, found that almost everyone else had got more or less the same feedback with minor rephrasing!

@crackster, I refrained from calling t process 'mismanaged', 'misjudged'...but good that u said so! The way your round was conducted, it was quite natural 😃

The final list posted on the site did surprise me a bit... am having second thoughts on whether to wait one more year for TAS 11...the process is too opaque...can understand it being tough and choosy...but its too subjective and unpredictable in my honest opinion...

Btw, did anyone notice a certain bias towards and against particular grp companies or its just my hallucination...

ATB guys for all your future endeavours...

I agree that it is now time to close this thread. The game's over for this year with many hopes and dreams going to pieces. One thing I must say is that we should stop speculating about the system. It is what it is and has served them well in all these years. While I don't care to think about biases or anything like that, I shall use the age old cliche that whatever happens is for our own good. I got rejected in the Director's Round after a full day wait and an interview that began at 8 in the evening for me when I was almost half dead from fatigue. However, I choose to refrain from any speculation as the system is not in my control and I have taken away much more from this process as a failure that I might have as a winner. For starters, I have become much more mature in my outlook towards life in these 3 grilling months. I believe that is the stepping stone to being a great manager and an inspiring leader.

When I went to Bombay House, I made sure that I took a personal tour of the place and I was dumbstruck simply reading the nameplates in that building. If you need inspiration to succeed in life, just go to Bombay House once and you will find yourself in a place where the titans of Indian industry work and blaze the trails that many of us would follow. The most important lessons those century old walls teach you is that of hard work and humility. You will realize that it takes an entire lifetime to achieve something significant, that it takes unusual amount of perseverance to build something of value like an institution. That is the place where you will forget all your petty troubles in life, your annoying boss, your harassing client, a sucky CAT %ile, a career going nowhere and realize that life is about seeing the big picture long before someone else sees it and then surrendering yourself to that vision and living, breathing, working every minute to turn that vision into reality.

Personally I had a bad interview, though the HR called me after the results were announced and told me that I was high on the preference list or something like that. I had a debate on geopolitics with the panel and I came out with a bad feeling that I am not gonna make it, but I am happy that despite months of preparation for questions in the Director's round, I just did what I do best for the most important 20 minutes of my life.

I lost eventually, but I am on my way to turn this loss into a launchpad for greater success. I have lost the fear of failure and now I am ready to try again, more importantly, I am ready to fail again and again till I eventually succeed.

I hope that all of you learn from your failures to turn into wiser men who will take on any challenge thrown in their way to glory.

Best of Luck and God Bless to all!!!

Siddharth.

yep, the thought crossed my mind too some names in the final surprised me ...just wondering if its really as transparent as we think or .....

guys i didnt get it....what companies were exactly favored?....as far as i know....tata steel is the biggest co......only one made it through.......next is from tcs - 2 made it thru..........the only change this time is that 3 guys came through from tata motors.....which is not the norm but acceptable..........even i didnt make it through the first round........but would love the views of people who made it to subsequent rounds as i am hell bent on giving a shot next year

people

wont be there for the tas 2011 process...Quit some time back....Got a very good opportunity and thought it was time to move on, though I should admit the attraction of TAS still remains...and feel sad wont be able to attempt next year!

I was planning to be around for the 2011 process, but its too high a risk given the randomness and opaqueness of the process...Frankly, I dont really believe in the fairness and objectivity of the process (the gd eliminiation to be precise) and attempting it without total committment would not have been a wise thing to do!

And I have to admit, every passing day at tcs was pretty boring...So time was ripe to move on!

All the best for all your future endeavours! Wish you loads of luck! (esp. if you are participating in the 2011 inhouse event )

@All,

I agree the process is too subjective and random.
So, what I feel is people should not take it to heart that they did not make it.

And... getting in is not a guarantee of exceptional talent amongst 700 odd people. it may be... It may not be 😃

I am sure it orginally started with a very good intention, but the management is not able to handle such a huge crowd spanning various geographies, resulting in all these inconsistencies.

I am new here....If any one one can tell me wha kind of profile is required for getting selected in TAS ???

guys all the best for tas2011.., i cn only suggest that its something really worth that ur al aspiring for...take care n hope d count goes much higher this time...

Around 2500-3000 candidates from across all Tata companies apply. The people who get selected after the first round - GMAT score and application are around 200. Final selection last year from all Tata group companies was 5.

Hi,

Is there anyone applying for TAS 2012 ?

Hi all TAS applicants,

I am a 2013 aspirant. And I just wanted to know about some GD topics and Director's round interview questions. Could anyone please help me out. Thanks a lot.. It would be really helpful

Got a mail from TAS for a workshop to be held on the TAS process. I bet they got a very complex elimination process this time
The mail says congrats on clearing the first stage, however later mentions that the shortlist will be out by 12th April.
