ATB Guyz for 8th June:)

well sorry guys...but just stumbled upon this thread...

I am curious about one thing...what is TAS???

sorry if I am being amateurish ...I couldnt get the expansion of this acronym ...

::: TAS In-House ::: ----------> U'll get all the answers you are looking for

@xrometh

Although I more or less agree with your post, I dont think the argument
"at the end of the day you just need 1 seat for yourself. If you are good enough you will get it. " doesnt hold ground in this case...although it sounds good...

By the same logic, can we divide the 32 teams in the upcoming Football WC
into groups of say 16,8,4,4 and then say that one from each group goes to the semifinal? As per your argument, since ultimately there is only one winner (one seat - that matters really) , no one from the 16 team group should have any issue....

Of course it wont work here, and even if it is made to work, it would no doubt be a HARD deal...thats what I talked about....Nothing about LUCK or WEAKER competition...

And about the most important one minute part...In those circumstances, yes..it was..and it didn't make me explode or incinerate...Just that it made me ( and i believe many of us) give my best!!!

As Vishal rightly said, 'I didnt really enjoy the process ' this time round...

---------------------------------------------------

Please just keep in mind what the TAS guys have been saying all along. They don't have a fixed number in mind.

But the fact remains that at the end of the day you just need 1 seat for yourself. If you are good enough you will get it.

If you are banking on luck or weaker competition or higher selection percentages to see you through then you are not doing your talent enough justice.

And honestly guys, TAS is not the end of life. Someone used a phrase like 'the most important minute of your life' in one of his posts. Really? You go in with that kind of pressure on your head and the only thing you will do is to explode. If you let the smallest of things distract you or send you in a tizzy then that is exactly what they will do.

Rise to the challenge people. There are men and then there are fine men. Decide which side of the fence you are on.

Peace.

Hi Ashu,

I am sorry to hear that but I don think you should say that you are not good enough for TAS. It's just that there is a better opportunity that awaits you somewhere else. I know you are disappointed right now, but this is temporary, it will pass. If you take my advice: revel in this pain. Let your disappointment be the fuel in the fire in you that will push you to excel even more in life. I know that it's easy to say such things when I haven't faced that disappointment yet, but maybe despite my best efforts the road to TAS might end for me too.

Though we have never met, I have enjoyed my interaction with you on this forum and I wish you the very best in whatever you seek to achieve in life.

Best,
Siddharth.

How come no updates from US. TCS junta, please update.....

Hey Ashu...dont think one needs to the TAS too close to the heart. I know everyone wants to be a winner but there are some things that one just needs to accept and move along. I am sure with ur GMAT ther'll be plenty of options wrt applying to grad schools abroad. TAS is just one of those options. And TAS has always been extra selective...its a disapointment for sure but at the same time gives one a opportunity to improve himself and hope for the best.

Personally I would like to a part of till the end just to experience the 'Importance' ๐Ÿ˜‰ my friend who interned in TAS last year kept raving about it...sadly he didnt get a PPO...but anyways heres towards having a shot at TAS.. cheers ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Fellow TAS Aspirants:
Sometimes the task/process is so Great, that being a part of that to any stage teaches you immensely, competing with 700 odd applicant and making to the final list of 216 in itself was an achievement.

We attended a workshop where they showed how stringent they are in selecting candidates for the process, they simply rejected candidates who didn't follow the guidelines or deviated from the instructions even a little bit.e.g: if it is asked to fill up your acads in the order of PG,UG,+2 and 10th ,the form would be rejected even if you don't follow this order ..irrsepective of your credentials .

it was just that the particular day was not favaourable that doesn't undermines your potential.

Work hard and come next year with a Bang!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best of luck for all your future endeavours.......

warm regards,
Sudhir

Sudhir,

Can you please check you PM. I just sent you 1 ๐Ÿ˜ž

guys a couple of days left any any news from the last lround

last minute preparations..there is nothing to prepare or rather everything as everything beneath the sun is in syllabus.....only almighty can help....

ATB to everyone...

Well, for employees of singapore and hongkong (i.e all international candidates apart from US and UK ) , the round was conducted on Saturday . let me start with the sorry state of affairs:

1. First an email is sent saying GD and further round will be via videcon/telecon.
2 weeks later
2.Another email sent saying no GD only presentation .Send it across ASAP.Presentation will be via phone (clubbed with Mumbai selections).
All of us are waiting and on the designated day, half an hour before the event is supposed to start. A call comes
"The round is postponed. We will notify you later this week"

2 weeks pass , no news

3.Another email saying " We are now trying to conduct GD and presentaton round in Singapore, the london round will be via telecon".
This email comes on Monday.

Unanswered questions : What about visa for candidates who have to arrive in Singapore?

4.Wednesday evening : Please apply for visa to singapore,we will definetly be holding the round in Singapore
In 2 days can the candidates get visa to singapore ??

Out of 2, 1 candidate doesnt get his visa on time.

5.On friday late evening (around 8 pm in singapore ) the location details arrive.
5. On Saturday - Only 4 candidates turn up ( 3 from singapore and 1 flown in from Honk Kong)

When candidates arrive, the office is locked -no one around

After 45 minutes past the designated time, 2 ppl ( 1 HR of the company and another senior TAS official ) arrive.

Now lets come to the GD:

Smooth flowing , everybody was good as per my opinion. But out of 4 only 1 got selected for presentation round. The one who spoke the most ,and did not give an opportunity to others and was totally tangential to the topic got selected.( Strictly the information I got )Feedback was given to the remaining .
And thats the end of story.

Personal opionion: Mis managed, mis judged, (or maybe I am not a right fit to the tata group ).
Not applying next year.
