training kaisa hota hai???and probable location 4 dat?

Hey ,
I m wid TCS for the past 20 months. Training is cool. smooth sailing. there will be a few tests packed in but there are no big deal.

in training they teach u a lot or it has its share of fun also???

hi priyanka....i sympathesize wid u.....just answer 1 question.....is the training too tough???

@ priyanka...
i had lived in tamilnadu for 4 years and i know how bad they are.... i am simply saying u made it worse.. but no arguments on this... as we all know... how sucking these tamils are.... so we on same page... baki to situ handle karane pe ati hai... anyway...
training can be anywhere in india, ahmedabad, bhubneshwar, bangalore, hyderabad, coimbatore, trichi and all... and difficulty of training depends on place.. at coimbator its toughest.. (tamil effect:they want to kill us)... hyd is bit on tougher side.. rest is cooll... however... TCS believes in selection rather than rejection and thats make training cool... so just chill dude...

will all the guys selected from my coll get training at d same place?

It depends... how many guys has been selected.. if its less... all will be called together... but if its more than 20... u may see training at diff place and diff date...

35 are selected..17 from cse 10 from it 5 from ece and 3 from applied electronics....so wat may b the trend for calling for training???will IT and CSE get the training together or there is nothing as such?

there is nthing as such... anyone can be called with anyone....i presume u guys will be called in two slots... anyway with tcs its all random... and it will be best if u will ask ur college senior as there is a bit of trend college wise..

I have 3.7 yrs of exp in an MNC.
I am being offered a asst sys engg.. role in tcs ...
How good is it to take up this opportunity...
what time does it take for the promotions to happen in tcs...

thanks for ur help in advance

just to add on abt my experiences in TCS.my Tamilian colleagues in the team had no other work in the team other than point fingers at me and taunt me and laugh at me after all the project managers and all the team leads in the team were wagging their tails behind them and treating them very well!!.My team lead had no other work in the office other than stand in a corner in the office every day and stare continuosly at me.U can now very well imagine what I had to go through in the team. And to add to it my onsite coordinator used to never reply to any of my queries through mail.In short u dont need to go as a foreign student in Australia to experience racism u just need to be a non-tamilian in TCS,Chennai to experience it.

Hello Priyanka,

Based on what you have said, I can understand that you have been through some harrowing experiences. But as a TCSer, I have never heard of such issues of discrimination based on whether you are a Tamilian or Non Tamilian within my project or any other project in TCS Chennai (or any TCS center for that matter). I am a tamilian, but I have more North Indian friends than southerners (If you want to put it that way), but no one has told me about such incidents, And I am sure that they would have told me if they faced such issues.

My point is that what you have mentioned here are serious charges. Shouldnt you approach HR with these issues if you have faced such discrimination?.

Also I would suggest that if you are unhappy in your project, then you can think about a release and go to a new project. Working cultures vary across various projects.

Not that I am advertising TCS here or doing some PR job for them, I just thought that I should share my own experiences about TCS Chennai.

cheers.

how is TCS for Freshers?

Depends on your project.. work is usually hectic initially, could be coupled with night shifts/weekend shifts, but that is how the industry is.

does it suck or is it easy going?

whether it sucks or not depends on how you look at it. Is it easy going.. please see above.

my ultimate aim is to do mba.....so sud i join tcs for 2 yrs of work
experience???

You alone can answer that :).

will it b possible to prepare for mba from there??

again depends. I can tell you that preparing for MBA while working is so much harder than while at studying (but definitely possible if you are ready to do it), of course if you work environment is easygoing you could get a little lucky there. But there is the advantage of gaining work experience and getting a better perspective in general, as long as you are ready to learn from your work experiences.

m not really good at programming....will it b a grave problem there?or cud i manage over there?my branch is IT

The next promotion line is on having four year experience and that is when u will become IT analyst.. since you are on verge of it.. i wlll rather suggest you negotiate it with HR before coming and also be clear when it is due... the other things that matters in TCS is you should have 3+ rating in last 2 year.. but with ur case u shd negotiate with HR. moreover promotion cycle in TCS has just now opened after 1 year freeze... so cheers.... but negotiate in advance.. it will be better... 😁 ATB

As said earliar... TCS from frsher ranges from sucking to luxury.... it is on luck... but if ur ultimate aim is MBA and i presume your joining come after sept.. it will be better for you to be half ready now only... joining tcs will give you a boost in GD/PI in coming years... Prep in TCS depends on you... if u wanna do MBA only.. then avoid taking project...and once you have got it.. work only for nine hour, monday to friday... and don fear deadline... but only if... you are serious for MBA and you are sure you gonna clear it in good college.. considering your marks.. i think next year you should be in if you prepare good... so ATB..

don't u guys think that if i spend 2 yrs in tcs then that wud give me sum weightage in terms of work experience during my mba interviews???and am mot hell bent on making my career in tcs....i just want to show sum xperience while goin for mba........

experience always count, prticularly as people regard with u high value and its always better than being jobless.. so if don get selected in MBA, join TCS... TCs is a good company.. And sorry priyanka dear.. u should understand that u can not generalise everything for everyone.. i have empathy for u but we cant decide and guide people on basis of that...

m not good at coding....will i survive at the tcs?
