VP level salaries are very much on a case to case basis. There is no band or CAP to it. It depends on how well you negotiate or sell yourself.

I am having 5.10 yrs of experience into Java/J2EE technologies. I have been offered IT Analyst designation with 7.4 L/PA package with 35% of the package as variable pay from TCS. Kindly suggest is it a good deal to take or should i renegotiate, Also what could be the max upper cap to expect from TCS. Thanks in advance.

I think it is very less if your previous pay is around 3.5 or so.. but if it is 2.4/2.5, then I think its fine.. but again it would have been better if its SE than ASE coz you have 3 yrs of exp

4.5 Lac is less for 3 year experience. The people with 2 years experience in TCS are getting 4 to 4.25 lac
My previous pay was 3.1LPA and B.sc Background.

If your designation is of a Principal Consultant or above then, at the very least 25 l/annum . If ur base is already high, then u can negotiate further up.

You cannot generalise that. It varies from company to company depending on their policy.

You will get the break up in your offer letter. Also, much depends on how you set your BoB.
