Hi guys... i am sairam... i have been selected recently in TCS in the off campus in chennai... my query is the HR told me that the people who have been selected has been selected for ITIS.. what is this ITIS? can anyone elaborate on this? it would be really helpful...
ITIS is the IT Infrastructure Services which is mainly responsible for the IT Infrastructure and Network in TCS. It is going to be an internal TCS role for most of the time. There are hardly any client based roles in this profile. If the HR has clearly told you about ITIS, I would suggest, please rethink on accepting this offer unless you have a genuine interest in IT Hardware part. You will never be in software development.
Just my opinion and sharing my experiences with TCS for about over 3 years. Rest is your decision.
I have been recuited On Campus By Infosys in January 2010. I have got Infosys joining date 13-Dec-2010. But I have also been selected by TCS in their Off Campus Drive. They have given me Offer Letter but their Joining Letter is yet to come. I am a Non CS/IT student and don't know much about Computer Languages . I am having great confusion as I have no idea to join which company. I want to know Which is better Company out of two for me? Which Company will provide me better work atmosphere and job security? Also, I am looking to pursue MBA after 2-3 years Work Experience. So which company is better to join? Please help me with your suggestions. I am looking forward to your responses. Thanks in advance.

Well if you want to best in IT industry then you can surely join Infosys. As looking into job security, TCS is best. Since MBA is in your mind, both company are good. And TCS job is less hectic. You can definately concentrate on your mba preperations side by side.
I am working in Noida and stay with my family in Delhi and my current package in some other company is 9.5 I have 5 Years of experience in IT industry and have been offered 9.73 by TCS, Mumbai. Can you please help me with the inhand salary given the below salary structure?
Basic - 15500 HRA - 7750 Special Allowance - 7750 Monthly Variable - 23700 Quaterly Variable - 5300 Food Coupon - 2000 Medical - 1250 Conveyance - 800 LTA - 1292 Personal Allowance - 13000
I'm new here - just signed up. I have a little problem wondering if anyone can guide me.
I have recently been offered - and have accepted - a role with TCS. While completing their online application form, I did not have all my marksheets with me. SO I filled in the correct figures for the ones I remembered and for the ones I did not remember I put in 0, with the intention of filling it later.
Now after accepting the offer, I was prompted to initiate the background check. While completing this form, I noticed that I had accidentally left my BE percentage as 60 - this was one of the fields I had earlier not been able to fill accurately as I did not have marksheets. The field is now locked and will not allow me to amend.
Any advice on what I should do?
- The role does not require a 60% aggregate - I am not a fresher - I bring around 7 yrs of experience

Inform your HR about this and proceed with the BGC process.

It should be ~62k - 65k monthly and every third month around ~75k (with Quarterly Variable)
Try to negotiate for a better profile and/or CTC. Keep in mind the higher living expenditure in mumbai.
just wanted to ask how easy it is to get transferred to your desired location (delhi) in tcs?? is the risk worth leaving infosys which is offering me a better pay n a much earlier doj?

Hi Guys, I have cleared all rounds for ASE role in Automotive domain in TCS, Pune but they have not released the offer letter yet because they are reluctant to offer me package of 6 lakhs.
My background is BE (Mumbai University) and MS ( from US) in Electronics. I have 2 yrs work experience in US. In India, my work experience is 8 months. So Overall experience is 2.67 years. My Current CTC is 5 lakhs (since last 3 months). I asked them to offer me package of 6 lakhs but the approval for 6 lakhs was rejected and they asked me to reconsider my expectation. They said they can match my current CTC of 5 lakhs but not more.
I am interested in this role because I seem to like nature of work they are doing ( I talked to one of their team leads) + there might be some onsite opportunities because they do have Japanese and European clients. Please advise me what should I do? Thanks a lot in advance.

Dude. I have 2.2 years of experience in TCS, Gurgaon. Had a 4 rating and was inside B-Band. Because of which I am earning 4.4lkh (B.Tech).
TCS never gives higher package to its employees who came after bagging some experience. You can compare you package (MS+8months exp.) and mine (B.Tech+2years exp). It will be almost similar in this march.. when mine will be around 4.9+.
As far as the client.. onsite opportunity ... They provide a hell lotta chances. And rotations also do happen here.
So your take. - Come to TCS, b here for a year. If they do not provide onsite stuff, then go for a switch. You will easily get 7.5+ in other company , if u are already a TCS prod. :D

Hey Dude, Thanks for your prompt reply. My total experience is 2.67 years (BE and MS). Would you have any idea of what Band would I fall under? Also after how many years do we get ITA designation?
Hi All I have been following this forum for quite long and must thank you all for the informations. I am Siddharth. I have a total work exp of around 3.5 years in IT and Operations. Recently I have got an offer from TCS Kolkata. They are offering me 7.25 lacs p.a. Band is that of an ASE, but they mentioned that my role will be that of a Service Manager. Can anyone please comment as to how the offer sounds. Also my hometown being Kolkata, I am keen to take this up. Does the salary sound right for my exp in TCS? Also what is the difference technically between Band and Role in the project? Also to inform I want to prepare for my MBA, so how does the toal thing sound? Location: TCS Kolkata (my hometown) Package: 7.25 lacs p.a Band: ASE Role: Service Manager Would like to pursue my MBA so I have intentions to prepare now.
