TCS Recruitment : Jobs, Salary, Interview Questions

I am appreciating this whole heartedly as I am in TCS for 1 year...
Rightly said..how to handle nasty bosses and strict deadlines..

Hehehehe ....... i have a very diverse experience of doing that in TCS across locations, across ISUs( you would know what this is !!! )....

Hi, You are right, they dint negotiate. But HR told that ITA desig lies between 4 to 7 yrs exp and after that starts AST. That's why i asked them for AST. Anyways I dint accept their offer and is going for Accenture.

I might also add that I'm confident of my programming abilities.. and am not totally averse to working in the IT sector provided I don't lose out pay wise.

Can seniors please compare what my annual salary is likely to be after 5 years..
1. If I continue with TCS as an Engineer.
2. If I continue with TCS after doing an executive MBA.
3. If I get a job after studying PGDM from IMT Ghaziabad.

Which would be beneficial for me in the long run??

Dear Gourab,
I would suggest not to choose your future career considering pay as a criterion, but get to know what you enjoy doing the most. Will it be heading a functional team or key account management for a particular client or other things...5 years down the road, with TCS you'll be a TL or at best a PL( less likely). Acquaint yourself with the responsibilities of people who currently are at the position you aspire to be at, after 5 years and try to estimate if that excites you or not...'cause ultimately after a certain level, your work-life balance matters a lot.....
Anyways, this is my personal suggestion...you may or may not choose to consider it.. :D
Best O' Luck.....

Since you are a management trainee I really do not think that you need much specialized knowledge of IT apps and packages. Whatever you need to know about IT , you will know within the first year.
Am not very sure of the role that you would get. I thought you would know while getting placed ..

Thanks a lot for your reply OrganizedChaos
During placement i was only by HR that i will be placed in Finance domain of TCS entrepreneurial cell..Thats all!

You are not expected to be a s/w expert :D. At the same time you should not be averse to using the software applications, the proper orientation for which will be organized by TCS { believe me, TCS is decently generous in conducting trainings Best o' luck

Thanks Born Winner..You guys rock

The joining locations will be considered. They give you 3 options (min.) and most of the people get their location by 1st / 2nd option .

Hope this helps....

Thanks Organised Chaos for the info . Lets hope that it happens

Hi,
I am an M.Tech CSE student, recently placed in TCS.
1. I would like to know the approximate date of joining I would get as my course would get completed by April 2011.
2. I am also placed in the ITIS section. Could the seniors pls give some light to what the ITIS section mean and what preparations should be done prior to the ILP.
3. Would the training be similar to both ITIS and Programming ppl?

Thnx..:lookround:

Hi seniors,

I'm 2010 passed out-Btech-ECE. I'm currently working with TCS-ITIS. I've been reading here that TCS doesn't have onsite opportunities out here but mine is an UK project and many are onsite with it. But, they're pretty experienced ones. The doubt i've is that which is a better domain to work (networks, SAP, Windows, UNIX or Database) which will have a better count on my experience. I joined as a fresher so i was given NOC(networks operation centre). I'm in this project since Dec'10. and we'll be given domains in a few months perhaps-it's just that we need to have certifications get done by that time. And 1 more query, will it make a difference if i'm working for it or itis? i mean for mba admissions. I intend to take cat-2k11. Pls kindly help.

Hi all. I got placed in TCS on jan 2011. Yet to finish final sem.

The gross salary mentioned in offer letter is 26Ks and 5.5K is variable allowance. In that case what salary can i expect in my training period? Probably 21Ks?

Also heard that TCS increases pay scales to 3.9 LPA. Can anyone working in TCS confirm it?

I had received an invite for attending "Operations Lead" position in TCS. Can someone explain what kind off role is this??? And they have 24/7 env
Is this something related to KPO/BPO of TCS???
Or the role similar to Project lead???
What is the pay structure for this role and is it worth taking this role??

I do not think this is like a Project Lead role. Pay Structure should have intimated to you. No one hires without divulging the pay structure.
Can you mention a little background of yours ?
