M a fresher . ILP for me starts at Ambattur in Chennai from 11th August after which i would be posted in some office in Chennai only . I want to get transferred to Lucknow office later(after a year or so). Is there any provision like that ? And will they consider the request ?

You just asked the question to the right guy. I took a transfer in a year ( the policy was -- no transfer in 2 years ), right in the middle of a project.
Anyway, the HR guys are going to be very grumpy about transferring you in under 2 years unless you are hopelessly on bench and you are not utilized in any project. But there are ways to get it done.
If Lucknow is your hometown, then you got a leverage.

i am from tcs and my base branch is pune...As i didnt get project for 1 month so the rmg guys tagged me to a project in some other city saying that you will have to be deputed there for 3 months. After reaching there i came to know that i have to stay there for 6 months and work given to me was to go with the survey team of some other company which tcs has hired. now i never did any field job in my life, nor i am interested and after 3-4 days with the survey team in the hot sun checking if poles which are there in road have correct data, i got pretty much frustrated. now i havent showed up to the office since 1.5 month and for the last 1.5 month i have sent many mails to the PM regarding this stating i have medical problem i cant do travelling job but not a single reply.......some guys from the project are threatning that it will be considered as absconding...no one is responding...even i dont have any tcs guy as colligue with me all are from survey company and tcs guys are in managerial position associate consultant.....now what to do at this stage....plz help

they say to contact PM and ask for release. stating this only i mailed him before but no response.....my PM sits in some other city , i am working in some other city and my base branch is yet another city lots of tension whom to contact .... no tcs asscociate is with me (small town) .
i have medical certificates ..
do i have to apply leave for almost 2 months though i mailed PM in regular interval and dont want to do so becoz will loose 2 months salary.....
or will they give me pink slip for not reporting to office or say absconding....very much tensed.....

Dont worry .. nuthng will happen. By now i think ur projct mngr must hav realeased u. Chk that . Once released..goto RMG ... just say i m unallocated so gimme a project . Tell ur story only if asked.
Feel sorry while doing so. Most prolly RMG will tag u to some oder project and it will thus end in ur favor.Best of luck .

If possible, take projects based on those technologies wich r being used in Chennai as well as in Lucknow. TCS Lucknow tumko tabhi legi jab tum unke kisi kaam k hoge. And that policy of No transfer for XYZ years is crap. U shud use ur brain and believe me no one will stop u if u take right moves on right time. Since u r a Lucknowite,it will be challenging for you in Chennai. So be brave be wise.

Who told u that??
Suppose if TCS is not able to find any project for u due to no requirement then u may stay on bench even for 8 months forget 4. See u cant say NO to any project if and wen offered in any company.So bench time can be of 1 day and it may be of 6-7 months.
Its all demand and supply mechanism. AND plz dont believe wat u hear.Every Tom **** and Harry has his own opinion but problem comes wen they spread rumours.

There is nothing like this. TCS, as far as job security is concerned, is the best among the IT giants.

BAs , sales guys do get onsite opportunnities in IT companies. But there are other factors like the kind of project, your exact work, location of clients etc . They do get the opportunity to go onsite.
i went to rmg for onsite project they told me 2 years exp is min criteria for onsite. I m released from project and my work ex is 19 months in TCS and 5 months Non-IT.So suggest me something shld i take some project or wait for d allocation of onsite project? in between how mch is d salary for ASE working onsite in US. I am new to this forum.
I am currently working with IBM. Skills are mostly Java/Webservice/Message Broker. I have a total exp. of 3 years and 8 months. I recently applied for TCS Bangalore and they are offering me only 6 lac/annum whereas my current CTC is 5.5 lac/annum. I also asked for ITA but they are still not sure if they are going to get that for me. So can you actually tell me if asking for an ITA designation at this experience is ok or not? And if I am offered ITA, what could be the package that they can offer me?
I found nitingarg78 to be in TCS, so any help from you as well as anyone in the forum will be very much appreciated.
And please tell me how is it working at TCS bangalore?
@hongabonga: I guess by ITA you mean IT Analyst? Whatever it is, you should get a minimum 30% hike in your current CTC. Hence that should be around 7.5 L p.a.This is what i think. Again, the salary structure and designation is dependent from person to person.

I did ask for a hike within the range 30-40%. And I also feel that it is possible. I just do not understand why it is not possible.

I am in a discussion for an oportunity at TCS (Application Development and support project on the technical side).
M currently a team lead and looking for the same role and corresponding designation/level in TCS.
My work x is 6 yrs.
As per discussion with one my friend i undertsnad that i am eligible for C3 i.e. Assisant Consultant (on the upper end)
Still the role and final remuneration discussion is pending.
Request exp TCS guys to suggest what should be my realistic expectation in terms of package and Level considering that they want me in on prioity.
Also what is the normal salary structure at this level (i came to know that Variable is arond 30%+)
