TCS Recruitment : Jobs, Salary, Interview Questions

@tekwiser
You should be expecting a tech lead role with Asst. Consultant designation.
Not sure about the variable component but your package should be around 10 or more lpa

Hi . I got my joining letter for TCS yesterday stating that i ll have the ILP at Chennai . But it says they wont provide the accommodation. Can someone let me know how much will they pay during the ILP considering that they r not giving us a place to stay ?

If your package happens to be 3.15 lpa, then you will get around 20k in hand (Given the components are still along those lines !! )

Hope this helps..

Hi,

If your package is 3.16 you ll get around 17k .You wont get 20k for sure. I know people who are currently undergoing training at Chennai ilp.

M a fresher . ILP for me starts at Ambattur in Chennai from 11th August after which i would be posted in some office in Chennai only . I want to get transferred to Lucknow office later(after a year or so). Is there any provision like that ? And will they consider the request ? :lookround:

If you know a senior person in Lucknow, you can get yourself transferred out.
Even if you dont, you should try your best. During your ILP you can put in a request for transfer stating a proper reason. There is a very high probability of rejection, but there's no harm in trying.

Hi
I worked with TCS for 2.5 years, after that in 2009 I took leave for study. I have completed my mba from Catagory 2 college(In the list of TCS). My last band/rank in 2009 was 4.5.
I am joining TCS back, How much min. and max. package can I expect from TCS now?

If accommodation is not provided then you'll get something around 22K in hand, but if provided something around 3800pm shall be deducted as HRA (if not during ILP then all together from the first salary after ILP).

Also its advisable to grab on the project and become productive at most within a month and a half after ILP, as on bench for more than that for being choosy on projects can make you suffer on terms of not being a flexible/cooperating employee but a rigid one, this at times leads to deputation too. RMG gets annoyed of such people and become non-supportive to them.

Performance factor comes in play from the every second month of becoming productive after ILP, as with the confirmation rating one gets one's first salary hike, that depends on your boss's perception of your work through the period. Though mostly the confirmation rating is not below 3 (if not the exceptionally bad cases) and this fetches a hike of around 8% (I had got 4 and salary had hiked by 10%). Once confirmed, every employee becomes a part of the regular H1 and H2 ratings, H2 being annual that finally decides the annually hike.

Its easy to understand while experiencing it.

@ People working at tcs , What are the documents needed to be submitted at the time of joining ? I dont have pan card and bank account . Am i required to get it before joining or shall i apply there ?

Wen u had to come back to TCS then y did u go for MBA??
For BAs, TCS gives 5.5 to EP and 4.5-4.8 to freshers.(CAT 2 clgs)
So u will be earning same as ppl who joined wid u some 4 to 4.5 yrs back.;)

Documents needed will be mentioned to you via mail. Get your PAN card ASAP. Bank account can be opened up then and there but PAN is essential. Do not worry , after joining you will be given 2 months or something to submit your PAN card details online.

Nothing as such
If u will show u r interested in working & meet RMG then u will be allocated to some project widin first 2 months.
If u will NOT show u r interested in working & dont meet RMG then u will be allocated to some project widin first 4 months.

Once in project....u can work as software engg or as a BA ( but u will be called as BA irrespective of wat u do). If u work as BA, client interaction will be ur job...u will work at middle layer between clients and software engineers.

an MBA will obvisuly not work as software engg.
and i dont think eveyrone will be BA , there are Assistant System Analysts as well who are mba

Its not that obvious dude. Many times there may be no requirement
for a BA. So in that case, employee wont remain unallocated till the time there comes a requirement. In such a case, BAs will be asked to work to do some technical stuff wich BTechs do.However,in the long run,BAs will
not work as software engineer.

There is no designation named "Business Analyst" . Assistant System Analysts is the designation. BA is jusst a generic sotta name.
Hope u r clear now.;)
