There is no fixed way. Companies do the way they wish. Aptitude test mite / mite not be there.

I have completed BE-ECE and MBA Finance. Then I was working in an NBFC for 11 months my CTC being Rs.5.6 lakhs pa.... I got an offer from TCS for the role of Assistant Systems Analyst Trainee with a CTC of Rs.4.75 lakhs pa... Initially they said they ll try to increase my salary but later refused to increase it beyond 4.75 lakhs pa... Having no other option I have joined TCS last month... I have been put up in Enterprise Solutions - Lawson ERP in Chennai.... Guys can some one tell me about my future in Lawson ERP.... Growth prospects in terms of on-site opportunities and pay hikes.... My friends working in Infy Enterprise Solutions have been paid in the range of Rs.7.25 lakhs pa to Rs.9 lakhs pa... I am a bit confused whether to continue in the present role... Ur views are invited... I was also informed that I would be working as a Techno - Functional Consultant... Which one is better? - working as a Pure Functional Consultant or a Techno functional consultant???

At first place I dint quite understand y u left NBFC(5.6) to take up a TCS job at 4.75??:shocked:
However, salary is not the biggest thing here. U shud hv gathered more work ex...11 months is too less.U shud aim for functional xperience initially. This switch u made after 11 months shud hv happened after 3 years.
U r looking only at salary aspect...now even if I think from ur point of view..still functional xperience is better than technical. In this case u wud earn less initially but will surpass ur frnds later on.;)
My salary structure was different in my previous company... My take home was only Rs.32k though my CTC is Rs.5.6 lpa... And my profile there was also not very good... that is the reason why i joined TCS

Im a graduate(bba)They are offering 10k as of now and said, would increase after the training periods.
My question is, what can I expect from this job??? And most importantly would it help during my bschool intervie.
I had posted this question @ one other thread too,and there I got suggestion to not take it!!
So, please if someone can help me clear my confusion??plzz help..!!should I take this job or go for cat this year???
I have to decide by tommorow or day after it!! So plz answer asap

Someone asked the questions a few posts back but somehow it went unanswered.So putting it back.According to TCS which colleges are Tier 1/A colleges and which all are Tier 2/B colleges for a management recruit.Also what are the difference in salary and designation between tier 1 and 2 colleges?

You should be expecting a tech lead role with Asst. Consultant designation.
Not sure about the variable component but your package should be around 10 or more lpa

Is it possible to provide an detail of C2 /C3/ C4..designation terminology of TCS.
M going for the MR round tommorrow, so just want to be sure that i accept the correct designation as per my WORK exp i.e. (total 6 yrs)

C3/C4 is the grade. I am not sure what that is for Asstnt. Consultant.
Asstnt Consultant is the designation.
Salary at this designation ( in your case ) should be around 10 - 11.5 lpa.
The more the better. But my guess is TCS is going to offer within that range.

Hi... I have got an offer with TCS for 6L and I have exp of 43 mnths.. And my designation is Systems Engineer.. They asked me to accept the offer.. Somehow I'm not happy with the offer as well as the designation offered.. Could someone tell me if I decline the offer will they come back with some good response ????? I have now offer with Wipro for 6.3L and designation is Senior software engineer.. Please help me on this.. Whether to go with TCS or WIPRO
