Hi , i m going to join ILP from 11th august . Can someone tell is it necessary to submit the provisional degree certificate or the degree issued by the college ? In case if i m not able to submit it by 11th aug , will i be given some extra time to submit it later ?

I believe you are talking about ILP Phase I. Then yes, during the doc verification process which will happen in the first couple of days at the ILP, you will be given some time if you cannot produce it then.

i have a query for you all
what is the career path in tcs in terms of package and designation

(i know this question has been asked several times on this thread but some new and fresh info will be great)

And what are the main skills required for a successful career at tcs (pls no sarcastic comments)

i just need some info like this after 2 years between x and y
after 3 years between a and b
please tell the take home not the CTC

please help me out actually there is a lot of confusion between college guys about the actual pay and career path in it companies.

i am on bench since 55 days and now my rmg says my profile is getting rejected and if this week i didnt get any project he will take HR action on me ....can any body tell me what action can be taken so that i can be prepared...

In these 55 days have you rejected all the projects recommended to you by the rmg? If yes, then u might have to face the hr who will question you on this...so be prepared with good reasons for the rejections.....
OR
If during this time, you haven't been recommended even one project by the rmg, then it is not ur fault at all for being on bench....after all, it is the rmg's job to allocate you projects..not urs.

TCS rmgs are known to threaten for no reason...dont worry...even if u have to face an interview with the hr, they wont take any extreme steps...tcs can't afford to lose its employees 😃

my rmg is mad he raised the request for stop the pay of a guy who didnt reported him and didnt replied his mail 3 continuos day .....
for me till now i havent been shorlisted for any project so not given even 1 interview.....what to do????


see...rmgs do expect u to come to office every day n show ur face even though u have no work....so in ur friend's case that was the problem....thery r paying you for 9 hrs...so they expect u to atleast report to thm....if u haven't being doing this, they will catch this point to vent out their frustration at their inability to get u a project...tcs always recruits more than it needs, n rmgs come under the pressure of allocating each one...
anyways.....even if u haven't reported to thm...just be ready with a good explanation for ur absence

One more thing to add, don't fear about job security while in TCS...The case is that if you are not getting allocated, the RMG is answerable for this...And they try to put you under pressure to accept any project...I had rejected two projects myself before joining the project I am currently in...So don't worry about getting sacked or not getting your salary...When it comes to job security, it can't get better than TCS!

they have offered me ITA role and total monthly- approx 81K plus other benefits as per TCS policies.


Base Salary 16,500
Variable Allowance 29,000
Monthly Variable Allowance (PP1) 23,700
Qtrly Variable Allowance (PP2) 5,300
Personal Allowance 21,300


1. Is designation ok with my expereince?

2. my current CTC is 8LPA and based in Noida. Should I relocate to Banglore for this much hike?

3. What would be monthy inhand salary with this offer?

Lets go one by one again...

1. Package is fine.....try and get a break up of your salary and estimate how much in-hand you are going to get. CTC looks fine.

2. You would obviously know that C,C++ is applicable more in telecom than Banking domain (Java/J2EE is more prevalant here). And Mumbai has more pronounced Fin Services clients. But then since Mumbai is a big revenue generator and the HQ you should get ample opportunities for onsite. Although there are other factors like kind of project, kind of boss, kind of team members, the rapport you build and blah blah blah ....

3. Not really very sure of this. Salary seems fine. You might want to check with other guys on this.

4. " What position should I bargain for?? " ......did not get this. Can you clarify ? Position as in salary/ role / designation..

BTW, I believe you would have joined as an ITA (that is a designation ) and hoping that you become a lead in whatever project you land up ( Team Lead is your role and its different from your designation). You might want to check up with TCS asking them if they are really looking for team members or team lead roles . Generally people with 5+ years exp have desigantion as ITA and role as Team Lead .....

I am fresher MBA and with no experience after UG too.I have been recruited as by TCS in Finance domain and my initial position is Management Trainee .They have grouped the recruits into two one is general and other is techno Functional.I have been told my role would be techno Functional.Whats the difference?Can any one explain?

I have attended the interview in TCS on 2, July 2011. I have cleared technical, pm rounds. Finally I had discussion with HR. He said about my designation and domain. He gave me an list of documents to be sent once offer letter given. He assured me "we will be sending the offer letter by one week" Its been one week and still I didn't receive offer letter. He has given his email id. Is it earlier to ask him through mail. any suggestion guys?

Hi, I would like to know if there is this MBA fresher recruitment drive in Hyderabad in the near future? Most recently there was one in Gujarat 3 days ago. TCS did conduct one drive in Hyd in April but many were busy with exams and could not appear for the recruitment process.

It depends on the project you will get into ..:)

The salary hikes of around 10-15 percent were announced in the last quarter . Will the freshers be getting the hike as well ? Can someone please mention the average salary for various designations at TCS ? And how much time ll a fresher take to become an ITA if he performs well ?
