TCS Recruitment : Jobs, Salary, Interview Questions

Hi,

One of my friends worked for 2.5 years for TCS before joining IMT ghaziabad. She is on sabbatical right now. What will be the role and the salary that will be offered to her if she joins TCS after MBA ? Its kindda catch 22 situation for her as she wont be eligible to sit for campus placements if she doesn't resign from TCS.
Any pointers/suggestions in this direction will be greatly appreciated.
It will help in resolving her dilemma to a great extent.

MBA from IMT Ghaziabad can give a better boost when compared to staying in TCS and depending on them so as to how much increment they give. My personal opinion will be to resign and appear for placement process. However, ur frnd is the best person to judge.

Hi All,

I currently work in TCS as business associate (contract employee under consultancy payroll) and i will get my interview for direct employee soon. I have total experience of 2.7years and in which i have 9 months(TCS) relevant experience. what will be my salary package and designation? can some one help me to know these details?

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

Dear all,

I am currently pursuing my 2nd year of MBA from IMT,Ghaziabad, while I am on a Leave Without Pay from TCS and have 2yrs of work-ex in TCS as ASE.
Can anyone pls guide me what is the re-profiling process for people like me @TCS and what packages and profiles are offered?
Request for a quick response.

Thanks
Lindt

Hi,

I have the same query..!! I worked in TCS for 2.6 yrs and then moved for MBA from SIBM, Bangalore. I also want to know the CTC offered to such students last year and what the expected this year..!! Based on this I can then think about which companies to appear in college Placements..!

Also regarding the re joining as far as I understand it not mandatory to join TCS after MBA, you can just go to your base branch and quit in a day. On of my seniors did the same thing. And you are very much eligible to appear in companies for Campus placements.
Hi all,
I am currently pursuing my MBA in HR n Mktg...N we will be having TCS on r campus very soon for th role of Business Analyst (BA) (fr HR ppl).
Can someone pls throw some light on the job role and growth opportunities? Will it be a wise decision to accept the offer of joining as a BA after MBA??
Also, I have a work ex of 18months as a software engineer with a leading MNC, so how much remuneration can I expect as a BA from TCS?? (the sal being offered to freshers is 5.27L ctc)

Pls respond back to my query asap...

Any idea whats being offered to Work-Ex ppl..!! 5.27 is very less even for a fresher..!!

Can anyone please help what is the CTC for work -ex being offered to MBA guys this year..???

What do you mean by BA for HR ppl ....HR people are generally not accepted into BA roles unless you move into HR consulting firms like Hewitt, Mercer, Hay group etc.

BA mean Business Associate. As per TCS they call employee who work under some consultancy payroll as BA.

i don't have so much of idea but my elder brother did MBA from SIBM-P so i got some information from him.
Business analyst in wipro is in the bracket of 8-10 LPA(Near 8lac)
BA in Accenture gets around 9.5 LPA
In Tier II MBA colleges like NMIMS and IMT-G Infy gives CTC of 7.5LPA + 75000 per year for relevant work ex.
So if you have 2 yrs of work ex then you can easily get 9 LPA from these colleges.
Work load is really not so much but sumtymz they work for 16 hrs continuously.
Don't Know about TCS yet.

Dude, Business Analyst is no where related to Business Associate. They call ppl who work in contract under consultancy as Business Associate in TCS but not sure about other companies. What i really wanted to know is what will be My salary package for 2.7years experience including 9month relevant experience in TCS and also i would like to know what will be My designation

Well said !! Totally agreed and I appreciate the mature approach u have , I think the people with more mature level thinking are worthy of doing MBA , not those people who do not know what they want in life....

Even I am working with TCS but I have a different opinion. The work environment, the work culture and all the blah blah you are talking about, it is more or less the same in each and every company.

If you feel you have wasted 10 hours everyday for past 12 months, then surely you have. If you wanted to learn, you could have. There is no way you will be stopped to learn something if you are trying to.

You will move to some other company and I bet, you will find the same situation there too, not exactly same but somehow you'll be frustrated with the situation again.

And if you going for MBA just 'cause you want to run away from TCS, then my dear friend, I am sorry to break your heart saying you'll be disappointed again. Many of my friends who have followed the same path say so.

So it is all on you, how you take it. I am not here to make all high and shiny about TCS. I am just saying, respect someone who trusts you for something. If you are an achiever, go for it but never forget who got you the first break in the corporate line.

ATB mate. May you achieve what you want to.

Hi i am currently doing my ILP . And as ppl on this thread told me , its like a paid holiday . Really having good fun .

Had a query though . My training is about to get over . During training i was getting around 17k . Now it seems there are very few new projects . Hence most of the trainees will be on bench . Might be the same for me as well . Wanted to know that ll we get variable pay(around 5000) if we are on the bench or is it only for those who are in projects ???

Posting is in Chennai . And all the previous batches are on bench currently . Btw i dont want to be on the bench anyways . Just asked about the salary in case they put us also on the bench . Do u know about the variable component ?? Tough to survive on 17 k in a metro ??

Variable pay is based on company's earnings and wil be given to every employee whether he is on bench or not...Once U complete ur ilp u will surely get it...
Below is statement in offer letter regarding varible pay:

"The Variable Pay/Allowance is subject to review and may undergo a change based on
the actual performance of the Company and unit and your own ongoing individual
performance. This allowance is payable based on the Company's
productivity/performance, and as such shall be treated as productivity bonus in lieu of
statutory profit bonus."

All the Gyan that has been given above is given by an HR Probably

U wouldnt even understand where the money has been cut.... 3.15 looks like an illusion even after getting those va's and fixed component... Choose ur project wisely......

Nishit09,

An extremely difficult question to answer because there are a lot of factors which determine your salary or rather CTC.
My ballpark estimate would be 6.5 - 7.5 lpa. But it could be completely off-target for the reasons stated above.

HI organizedchaos!
I know one factor is ur college.
Wat r the other factors?
What can an MDI student expect?

Say 8 and finalize the deal on 7.5.
Not less than 7 as MDI is a very good instt.
Also remember IIM guys or top 10 instt guys are hardly in picture here

Can any senior tel me the package of employee with 2 years exp + MBA from tier 2 college with profile in IT CONSULTING at TCS?

It depends on your last drawn salary. Ask for 45-50% more than that. Settle at not less than 40% increase on your last drawn salary.

Dear All,

I have 6 years and 2 months of Exp in IT, and my CTC is 8.23 LPA, what should I expect while joining TCS ITA or AST? Also what salary can I ask for?

Thanks in Adv,
R.G.
