I got an email from Sauder for admission with a 10K scholarship (I'm from Toronto). On the same day I got the offer from Queen's with a 7500$ scholarship. Really not sure where I'm going now, very tough decision.
Congratulations for both the admits! Queens is among the top 3 b-schools in Canada and McKinsey and BCG are among its recruiters. But if you're interested in Energy/Entrepreneurship, probly Sauder is a better choice. Btw can you please share your profile?
Hi All,
I have also got an admit from UBC Suader for fall 2012. I have queries regarding the VISA process.
Any help is appreciated.
Congrats to all those who got an admit, hope to see you all soon.
Thanks & Regards,

Hi Everyone,
I got an admit from Schulich & Sauder also. I did not get any scholarship from Schulich but got a $10000 scholarship from Sauder. I have decided to go by Sauder because of financial constraints. I have even paid my Deposit ($2500). I am in the process of applying for an education Loan.
I am from Hyderabad. Is there anyone who is also from Hyderabad? If yes, please PM me so that we can get in touch and help out each other in this process.
By the way my profile is GMAT 700/6yrs WE in BD, Presales & Software Testing/Good Acads/Good Extra Cirriculars
Hope to meet you all soon
Hey Amit,
It took me 5 days to get the offer letter by courier (DHL) after the conformation letter by email. You might also get in the same timeline. Just wait.
Any Hyderabadi PM me your contact details.

RK

Hi Arjun,
I did my BBA at Schulich with strong EC's
GPA for the final 2 years were strong
2.75 years of experience in different industries (namely, restaurant consulting and now a project manager for a medical device manufacturer)
GMAT: 660, AWA 6.0
I have to make a decision today so I can inform my employer that this will be my last week at the job (If I choose Queen's). I know which way I'm leaning, but will be making a call to both career centres today to finalize my decision.
I'm interested in consulting, but with my shorter work EXP, I think Sauder will help me get my first job, especially because of the internship. I'm just finding it hard to turn my back on Queen's after they've been rated so high for so many years (1st International between 2004-2010).
@ Manb, Kalpana, Amit, RK: Congratulations on getting UBC MBA Admit!!
Cheers!!

Yes congrats to you guys.
At this rate we might be able to have a whole cricket team...(keeping my hopes up)
Hey Guys, I've decided to take the Sauder offer. If someone could create a group for everyone on FB, that would be cool, I know a lot of other schools on this forum do the same.
Look forward to an exciting 16 months with you all.
Maneesh
Congrats and ATB! 😃 W/listed puys, any updates?

I am still on the waitlist. No response yet
. Any idea on a reasonable time span for waiting for a response? BTW, I have got an admit from SFU MBA. It is a one-year program, followed by 2 to 8 month internship.
I would appreciate if any of you give me any information on SFU MBA.
Thanks! All you guys are of great help to me!:)
I guess we'll have to wait at least till Apr. 13th. The website says that the final notification to R2 applicants will be sent on or before apr. 13, so i guess the w/listed ppl will be considered only after that. But the concern is final notification to R3 applicants will be sent on or before May 25! so if it's so that they consider w/listed ppl after everything is over, the wait get postponed till May 25th! You have any other admits btw? Also looking at the posts on PG what is the no. of w/listed ppl?
Hi Everyone,
I am too joining UBC Saudet this Fall.
Is there any Facebook page or Google Goup for Admits of 2012?

Hello Everyone,
This is my first post. I have received an offer from UBC for the Fall 2012 intake and I am taking it up.
My profile is M/620/4 years Work experience/BE Computers.
I am from Mumbai and looking forward to connect with the current batch, especially with people from Mumbai (right away :)
Congrats to everyone who has made it. Its gonna be amazing to see you personally. I am figuring my financial options and then will apply for my VISA.
I have a few queries:
1. I have a co-signer who is Canadian citizen, but is not directly related to me. Can anyone tell me if I am still eligible to avail a financial loan from a Canadian Bank?
2. In case i am looking at applying for a loan in India, which PSUs would be recommended? Has anyone heard about the Credila program from HDFC Bank?
3. How long does the process of applying for financial loan in India and Canada and getting it sanctioned take?
4. Are there any prerequisites - List of Medical tests or so on, for VISA application?
Over and above, is anyone preparing proactively on anything towards MBA program?
Keep in touch.
Best Regards

Hi,
visit vfs-canada.co.in
It will resolve visa related queries. Medical is recommended before you apply, it facilitates faster processing of your visa form. I have collected most of the documents needed and shall apply for visa soon.
Process of loan application may take a while depending on banks. Better start the research soon. Credila will provide you 80% of the amount for which you provide collateral.
Thanks daman1987, What are the financial options, you are considering (if i may ask)?
you can write to me at [email protected].
Best Regards.
@Bpunmiya
HI I can answer two of your questions
- From my understanding your Co-Signer does not need to be related to you. You can also verify this by asking your co-signer to check with the bank that you intend to borrow from.
- As far as preparing/courses. An option that you can consider is that Sauder themselves will offer some preperatory classes. Many of the Sauder Alumni recommend taking at least a couple of the courses such as Finance. The last I checked with the Adcom team they said that they were still finalizing the dates and cost. From my understanding the classes take place in August.
Over and above, is anyone preparing proactively on anything towards MBA program?
I just checked the website and it looks the Prep/Fundamental course details are up
you can view the details at :- MBA Prep Program | Sauder School of Business at UBC, Vancouver, Canada
If you take the full course, it starts Aug 6th and ends Aug 24th.
