GD panel : 1 person
PI :2 person....
GD topic : moi:"shd there be reservation " other batch hd a topic "should gd be part of selection procedure".
1 min 2 think 20 min 2 discuss.....persons who dnt speak r askd 2 spk @ last.....@ times GD gt chaotic but nt a total fish market
PI : general questions ..moi askd on GD topic ur stand n grilled on dat n questions on d basis of wat i wrote in d form....no tech questions.....
.....20 mins PI...(appx).........whole process once it starts takes abt 2 hrs....including ppt presentation by students.....moi started late by 1/2 hr cos of lunch break..

results on 15 -1st list.....
results on 27th -2nd list..........
d only -ve part abt d entire affair...4 most of d persons d process ws smooth sailing...
dnt knw hw they r going 2 assess us......
as per them conversion raio will be 1:77

Hey Kunal..thanks a million bro for posting ur exp...man u helped get rid of those jitters mesz been gettin since mornin...newaysz..ur gd/pi seemed to have gone pretty smooth mate...hell...donno on wat basis are they gonna select if everyone does so well..newaysz..well done bro n thanksz a million!
well jay...i think that it is essential that u carry your certificates if u have some...they make your candidature stronger...so if anyone has good certificates...carry them in a transparent folder so that the interviewers may see them and get impressed!!...but if u think that it would be too much of a pain to carry them...then don't bother...do whatever u feel comfortable at.

i dont think so thr is any dress code as such.. but as any other gdpi formals wud be good to wear!
also they havent mentioned to carry yr certifcates... so dont... jus carry the things mentioned in the call letter!

hi i just had my gd pi yesterday and a gal with me who had 40percentile in cat gotta call i mean she was there with me ! how do u explain that!!!!!! and from the presentation and all it looked like a pretty decent coll with a lot of opportunities, only the people who were called were with really low scores i mean all in 70 and all! how do u expect the output to be good if the input not good! anyways may be this all is their idea of making money and in the end they do select good candidates lets hope so
now for gd/pi it was ok relaxed nothing stressful
gd topic " do u think sex education be made necessary at school level" and pi was ok regular stuff why mba so all those guys who r yet to have it chill its simple
ok we were given choice between two topics the first one was " should india have the presidential form of govt like US"
pi mainly on ur essays

reason for mentionin this is
1) no whr in my omr form or essay form i have mentioned my cell no.. the only way they cud have got it is thru cet details from DTE.... (so ppl thinkin tht evry1 who appeared 4 cet has a call can go 4 a ride)
also a frnd's frnd who had 72%ile in cat and a ok cet... dint get a call... so thr also the notion of evry 1 who has applied got a call.. goes kaboom!

First 5 minutes: Fish market
Next 5 minutes: Vegetable market
Last 5 minutes: Vegetable and fish market with only two fish traders arguing over the price!
Over all personl rating: 3/10
Psychometric test: 20 minutes
No comments.
PI: 20 minutes
Very decent.
Questions were oriented towards the controversial and weaker sections in the form.
Grilled a lot about future plans and role models.
Overall personal rating: 8/10
Over all: very decent performance
Institute looks decent, but not something extraordinary, by the way the whole affair was consucted.

as for it being simple and easy... i jus hope they really lookin 4 good input rather than backdoor entries!!
and its better not to let yr guard down thinkin the gdpi's to be easy n casual
can tell from personal excpereince at somaiya.... had a pretty decent gd and a total chilled pi.... no acads asked... nothin stressful.. jus a good discussion...
result: no call... not even in da waitin list after securing 90%ile in caT
so bottom line.. do yr best and rest leave it to luck!!

well friends I had my brush with welingkars at delhi today and the experience was mixed.
starting with the GD, less said the better. the din was great; reaching dangerous decibel levels with the panelist grinning heartily. this was more to do with the kind of canditates they called who were judgementaly impaired to present a cohesiveness of thought.
next came the phychometric one. simple and simmilar to ones the IT compainies conduct. u just need to be consistent with answers.
and finally the interview. It was COOOL. The panel was extremely knowlegebale and me got some good grilling. was asked abt various tax regimes , to leadership style of Bill Gtes. In between came general questions with particular emphesis on personal outlook. and it lasted roughly 25 mins.
overall the selection process was pretty fair apart from the GD abt which I have grave doubts.

2. were you given a choice bet 2 topicsz n how did ull come to a consensus if ull were given a choice..i mean did ull discuss wat topic to choose or u jus had a poll...
3. and bro did they grill u on acads...i guess ur from IT...plsz specify the questions asked if u can recollect them.
i would really appreciate it mate if u can answer some of my queriesz...n bro gr8 goin man....all the best for the future!

sorry to say but we had no choice of a gd topic. the panelist just mentioned a topic and then gave couple of mins to recollect our thoughts. the topic was " the relevance of global indian manager". As I had previously mentioned, the gd had an exceedingly high degree of entropy and an fallacious excercise.
now regarding grilling on academics. well they did not probe me much on that. they rather concentrated on my workex(IBM and Sapient). However if ur an fresher please do go prepared on academics.
They also quized me a lot on finanacial and current affair topics. They even asked questions on the finance bill and the monetary policy followed by RBI. then came topics abt good business leaders. They asked what I thought abt Bill gates and his business policies(monopoly, antitrust cases etc).
My overall guess is that the interview is going to be critical. So go prepared and if possible aquaint yourself with current business issues.

GD topic: do women make better managers or home makers...more or less every1 spoke well....it was a pretty decent one widout any chaos...
Interview was smooth too...was asked questions like y shud welingkar choose me,y i wanna do marketing,lil abt my company whr am workin now...n since am frm kolkata they asked me to mention the 7 north-eastern states!!...
so guys juz chill out..itz not all tht hard...but the que. is how r they gonna select the candidates!!...atleast in my batch every1 had a good experience!!....nw thts smthing to worry abt :-)...

hi all,
had my gdpi yesterday at bangalore.......had a g8 exp......sheduled time 1345 hrs but the process started at 1430 hrs.......but as far as the hospitality n the respect towards the students r concerned welingkars stands out......i never expected this from them......now i am very sure that if i get a call (final) i would simply grab the oppertunity(no to CAT 2005) .....both the students n the faculties there very caring
.....they just made sure that u feel at home
few incidents which may highlight it
1.both the faculties n the student were very dissapointed with the late start of process n the appologized to us several times
2.when i entered the pi room both the persons present there stood up to greet me:wow:....n when i left the same thing happened:whatthat: (it just reminded me of the tapmi int where one of the faculty was leaning back in the chair as if sitting in a park n in the directors interview the director was sitting in the sofa cros legged:x)
3.we were provided a separte note book n a pencil for jotting down the points in gd
4.provided with snacks:wow:......cake,samosa,biscuit,potato chips,mineral water bottle....aquafina)
the above mentioned points may b small but it mattered a lot to me
THE PROCESS
the process started off with a small n crisp presentation in a class room.
mind u the selection or the conversion rate is 1:75:huh:
one point they mentioned made me laugh out my stomach...."WE r ranked no 8 in south east asia".....do they think they were speaking to children below 5 yrs r to deaf people????
THE GD
"todays youth r more installment bound" was the topic given to us ....a dry one time allocated was 25 min but we finished the discussin within 15 min....rest of the time beating ard the bush
THE PI
i had a excellent pi which lasted for ard 25 min.....it was more of an informal chat ......thank my stars no questions from acedamics.......but they drilled me on the answers which i wrote in the application form.....they took up each and every question n discussed on that.....if pi is the only selection criteria , i am sure i wld b selected
P.S. plz ,if u have a copy of the form which u wrote....better browse thro it before the pi ..... i did the same n it helped me a lot
THE PT
lot of hype for this pt.....this is the frst time i took the pt.......it was kewl....
totally there were 90 questions which r to b answered in 15 min
it is objective n shd b taken in computer n not paper n no shading the oval
90 questions where divided into 45 pages of 2 questions each
mind u the main aim of conducting a PT is not to judge ur personality but to check whether u r true r lying:)......so dont mess up ...b true.......
what i found out after the pt was that most of the questions were repeated which were spread out in diff pages .....so it just see whether u choose the same option when u come across that one
for example "I am hard worker" option was repeated ard 8 times
other ques.....i am honest,i am organized,i am lovable,i like to lead....etc etc..
CONCLUSION
all the process came to the end at 1545 hrs
abt the result it will come ard 15 th of may
hope my exp wld benefit the future students
