I think u should make it to the short list. With experience like that and a fairly decent CAT percentile u do stand a fair chance i should think. But i am sure Adits would be able to be a better judge as he is a student there.

someon etold me that there is one more round after this round and someone even told me that 29000 people applied.i guess after what u said,i am not sure abt that 😛

hi guys....i have a feeling that this has been discussed somewhere before,pardon me, but guys how wud u compare welingkars vis a vis kj somaiya...i'd got a call from them, had a good gd/pi..and was expecting to be thru...but cudnt even make it to the wait list...so i'm really pissed off wid them...n am itching to hear that welingkars is as good if not better...

plz guyz.....b4 posting ur queries post some details abt urself....ur percentile ,backgrd,workex etc...., anyday KJS>welingkar...but admission into welingkars is gud too.....so it up to u to decide whether to go 4 cat 1 more yr r to join welingkar....

this is looking like a great battle now! well see i am not putting wel first because i applied there and didnt apply to kj. but take me welin has a warmer reputation amongst the bombay junta. and have u seen the campus for the two places u wont take long to decide which has better infrastructure. kj is only well marketed! at the end both r giving the same placements, and the names attached with welin will take it places if they play their cards rite. b/w kj and wel wel outweighs anyday. in mumbai for me the colls wud go like like jb, spjain, narsee, syndh,wel and then kj.

i dint knw we were supposed to carry the cat scorecard during our gds.. anyways as it is u have already submitted with the form .. so dont worry... still better wud be tht you call them up and confirm... if they require 1 more copy jus semd em!!

hey my GD topic was shuld GDs be there as part of the selection process to the B-school
and my interview had few questions related to acades
since i did MA (eco) so he asked me difference B/W GDP and GNP
and also asked me to draw break even point diagram
and also some of the economists i like of indian origin and foreign origin and there great works
rest was related to my form
i culd manage to answer almost every question
to the best of my knowledge
now lets see what future has in store for me
that was my experience u can share urs as well

IIP.M is probably not on the top lists here. Perhaps due to marketing overtures????

hi all,
had my gdpi yesterday at bangalore.......had a g8 exp......sheduled time 1345 hrs but the process started at 1430 hrs.......but as far as the hospitality n the respect towards the students r concerned welingkars stands out......i never expected this from them......now i am very sure that if i get a call (final) i would simply grab the oppertunity(no to CAT 2005) .....both the students n the faculties there very caring
.....they just made sure that u feel at home
few incidents which may highlight it
1.both the faculties n the student were very dissapointed with the late start of process n the appologized to us several times
2.when i entered the pi room both the persons present there stood up to greet me:wow:....n when i left the same thing happened:whatthat: (it just reminded me of the tapmi int where one of the faculty was leaning back in the chair as if sitting in a park n in the directors interview the director was sitting in the sofa cros legged:x)
3.we were provided a separte note book n a pencil for jotting down the points in gd
4.provided with snacks:wow:......cake,samosa,biscuit,potato chips,mineral water bottle....aquafina)
the above mentioned points may b small but it mattered a lot to me

Hi People,

Well firstly.....loads of luck to all........and second ...thanks to the people for posting their experiences.

I have got my session on 7th at 1:45.......

hoping that it goes smoothly......one thing is good that they do not ask any acadmecis related question.

well regarding the question on which institute is better.....i belive the older the institution, the more alumni and hence a batter industry interface.

but this does not mean that wellingkar is a bad option .Its as good as any other.

So i would rank JB as top....sydneham next...and then welling and somaya on same level.
